From start to finish The Fair Restaurant did not disappoint! The food was delicious, and the service impeccable. The atmosphere was great with low lighting and had a very elegant feel. However casual dress was welcome. My wife and I both got free deserts. Lava Cake and cheesecake. Both were delicious. My wife had a filet mignon which very tender. She got the Brussels sprouts and she reported they were good, but could have been sautéed a little longer. I had the NY strip, medium rare. I was very good, with nice seasoning. The Fair is a fantastic looking restaurant. Slathered in a modern interpretation of art deco with dark colors, crisp linens, and paintings of women with birds that are very upscale makes this an impressive remodel from its previous tenant. The new owners did not fix one of the major drawbacks of the space, however, and it is just as loud as Toast was. Sound baffling would help, but it wouldn't have made my experience all that much better. We were seated at a table in the back. Despite our fairly early reservation, we were next to an 8-person table that, when filled, got noisy. The velvet cushioned seats were nice. Booths looked good as well. Lighting is low and intimate. Drinks were meh. I wasn't impressed. I tried two and both were single note without much sophistication. The menu looked interesting, but I wasn't impressed with the execution. My scallops had good flavor but were overcooked and very soft. The braised short rib was good but it sat on a bed of spaghetti that was cut up; like you would for a child. The service was hit and miss. At times, our server seemed to be actively ignoring us to the point where one of our quartet jokingly asked if one of us had dated them and it had ended badly. The Fair is expanding, which is great, and I wish them the best, but a rating of "fair" is about all I could give my visit. read more

I had an unforgettable dining experience at The Fair Restaurant. My boyfriend and I joined another couple for The Fair's Friendsgiving dinner special event. The evening featured a beautifully curated five-course French-inspired pre-fixed menu, with wine pairings thoughtfully selected by their in-house sommelier. Parking was a breeze as there was ample street parking available. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. We were greeted with a glass of champagne that set the tone for the night. Within 10 or so minutes everyone was comfortably seated. Chef Roza came out to personally introduce herself and the talented team supporting her. This touch added such a warm, intimate feel to an already elegant event. Each course was incredible - savory and layered with flavor. The wine pairings elevated every dish. We were a party of 4 with reservations for 7pm, were seated promptly upon arrival about 6 foot from the kitchen door. We were the 4th table to be occupied in the restaurant upon our arrival. We ordered an appetizer then we all ordered the bone-in pork chop. The server was terrific, very courteous and a joy to talk to and a little fun banter. Service was also great. Nothing to complain about until the end. After clearing the plates we were promptly given our checks and paid immediately approximately 8:10pm. We continued to chat at the table because the restaurant had only one other table of two being served. My group is all old co-workers and were 'catching up', but discreetly. Five minutes after paying the bill we started getting 'vultured' by the whole restaurant staff. Our server stood about 6 feet away from our table with her side to us, manager walked back and forth like he was walking laps of the small dining room, a bus boy came out of the kitchen with himself arms crossed, stood about 30 seconds just starring at us. I made eye contact but he didn't say anything and just walked back to the kitchen. It was very noticeable they felt it was time for us to leave. We exited the restaurant at 8:38pm. I had seen and spoke to the folks at Harvest homecoming so I was curious to try them out. It was a week night evening. The restaurant was not full, but the restaurant itself was absolutely beautiful low-key very elegant , but the service was wonderful. I sat at the bar. I ordered up a Negroni to drink, wedge salad and a French onion soup. The bartender was very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. From first touch to good bye, it was a stellar experience! The ambiance was great! Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and story of the restaurant (hearing about it added to the experience). We had two apps that were tasty and easy to share, the bread brought to the table was hot and the butter was so yummy. I made a special request for my meal and it was accommodated with no problems at all. The half chicken was incredible- flavorful & juicy! The saffron risotto was a perfect addition to the dish. I was very impressed by this dish! The dessert and cocktails were also very very good and I can't wait to try more on the menu! The chicest place. The vibes are elegant and cute. The place is elegantly dark/moody, but with a cute twist that isn't dreary. I had a Socialite Martini and it was so good! My guy had a margarita and it was equally good. Our entrees were the Linguine Allá Vodka with lobster, scallop, and shrimp and he had the Pork Chop with potato purée and asparagus.
