Cast Iron and Pineapple Pinapple Upside Down Cake

Service 10/10 Cheyenne was amazing! Super attentive. Explained everything and all her recommendations were wonderful. Made my 30th birthday special. Food 10/10 I mean literally my boyfriend and I were overwhelmed at how wonderful everything looked, how delicious it was. Multiple times we brought it up in conversation. The food felt like an experience. Steak 10/10 (I know I said food but this has to be in its own category) oh my gosh. Please go get the Delemonico cut, medium. It melts in your mouth, no need for A1. This cut was recommended by Cheyenne and she got it spot on! Ambiance felt like home, everyone was friendly. The manager even came to our table so we were able to compliment them personally. We definitely found our favorite place to eat in Louisville. Thank you Cast Iron for a wonderful night!

I first visited Cask Iron Steakhouse during the pandemic, and at the time the experience felt unique -- steaks arriving sizzling in cast iron skillets gave the meal a little extra character and charm. Returning recently, the food was still very good, but now everything comes out on regular plates, and some of that original magic felt lost. That said, this is still a solid local steakhouse. The staff was attentive, the meal was flavorful, and the prices were fair, especially compared to many of the more famous steakhouses across the Ohio River in Louisville. It may not have the prestige or polish of some of those places, but that's also part of its appeal. This feels more like a neighborhood restaurant serving happy locals than a destination fine dining spot -- and honestly there's something refreshing about that. Good food, good service, reasonable prices, and a comfortable atmosphere without trying too hard. Sometimes that's exactly what you want.

The juiciest ribeye I think I have ever had! And so soft it melted in my mouth! Couldn't believe the quality of meal for the price! Insane!! Service was excellent! My waitress was incredibly helpful with not just the meal, but also suggesting the local flavor for this out-of-towner. A nice little family establishment that does not cease to impress! The peach cobbler did me in! It was soooo good and I just could t fit it all in. CanNOT wait to get back there!

NY strip cooked Pittsburgh rare with side of Broccoli

Ordered take out. NY strip cooked Pittsburgh rare was a solid 8/10. Had never had a Pittsburgh cooked steak so wanted to try it. Overall the sear on the outside was really good and the cut had good flavor, my only complaint is it wasn't rare, and was more like medium. I'm usually a medium rare ordered but wanted to try rare but this just wasn't that. Sides of broccoli and mushrooms were fine but nothing special. Side salad was a bit weak. All in all I would come back. The steak was good and a reasonable price, 12oz for like $32. I'm in town for work staying downtown and all the places downtown are at a minimum $50+ for a smaller steak

    Restroom

To start we got seated right way, which was great, the server was on point! We got the "steak" queso not to sure where the steak was though. The dinning room was loud we wish we would have sat at the bar. The Hot Brown was delicious and so was the steak however the sides lacked greatly. My brussel sprouts just tasted like char and vinegar and the potato cake was just greasy fried pancake of potato. But the star of the show had to be the restroom... ceiling falling in and dreadfully bad.

Is it casual or upscale as far as what to wear? Are jeans acceptable?

    Casual, jeans would be perfect.

Do they have a drink special night?

I do not know about a certain night for drink specials, they do have tasted specialty drinks.

    Need to make reservations?

It's not required but isn't a bad idea. I called on a Friday night and got one for 45 minutes later.

Do they still do free birthday meals?

Free dessert but not a meal

The American breakfast had large potato pieces, good sausage, and made to order eggs. Hot coffee was on the better side for hotel coffee. Dinner: they were super accommodating, as we were traveling with a friend with an infant. I called ahead to let them know we would come in with a stroller, and they made sure to sit us in an area where the stroller was not in the way of servers or other guests. Our server was one of the most attentive people I have ever met, and every recommendation they gave was fantastic. We started with the oyster rockefellar and the spicy tuna tartare. The oysters were massive and the tuna dish was so good, we got it a second time later in the weekend. We all got steaks for our mains and added a lobster tail - there was a mix up with the lobster tail taking a bit and they ended up bringing out the largest lobster tail to make up for it. All steaks, their sides, and sauces were fantastic- better than most I have had in the DC area. The food was all rich so under order or share amongst friends. Cocktails were of course fantastic, from espresso martinis to the famous smoked old fashions. We had drinks at the bar another night and the service was just as good, though they did tell us that they didn't serve the drink in a smoke box when we certainly had one just a night before.

They offer valet parking for $14, but street parking was easy to find and just a short walk away. We started with the Caesar salad and the wedge salad. Both were good, although the wedge had a bit too much dressing for my taste. I ordered the filet with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and mushrooms. The filet was excellent, and while I'm not usually a mushroom person, these were truly outstanding. The bread was also some of the best I've ever had. I also ordered one of the mocktails, which I enjoyed because it wasn't overly sweet. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the service. Our waiter was efficient, but he wasn't particularly friendly, and the entire meal felt rushed. Several times, someone tried to clear my plate while I was still eating. We also had to ask for more time more than once before ordering because we felt pressured to make decisions quickly. With a bill of over $300, I expected a more relaxed dining experience where we could enjoy the evening at our own pace.

There were six of us, and every single person at the table was genuinely thrilled with their meal. The food was outstanding across the board--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care--and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and portions. We also enjoyed the drinks--a cider and a chocolate stout--both of which were excellent. It's rare to find a place where everyone walks away happy, but Pearl Street Taphouse managed it effortlessly. The unanimous decision before we even left was to meet back there again next week for dinner. That alone says everything. Highly recommend this local gem--we're already looking forward to our next visit.

Seating was available inside and out - accessible seating for those in a wheelchair would be difficult indoors due to limited space - tables are very close together. We elected to sit indoors due to the heat and had no trouble finding an available table. Our server was Greg and while the restaurant was not crowded - he was covering table tables both inside and out - which meant he would disappear for long periods of time. While he did his best to cover everyone appropriately, I believe the manager should reevaluate table coverage for a superior dining experience. The menu provides ample selection of items to order. I would highly recommend the large pretzel as an appetizer. We ordered the Cuban sandwich with potato salad and a chicken sandwich with waffle fries. I mentioned to Greg that I was lactose intolerant and he was able to accommodate by ensuring he would mention to the chef that no diary should be used in preparation. Both sandwiches arrived with no issues - with the only complaint being that the potato salad was very bland. Other than that, all went well. Overall, the food was good - fairly straightforward bar food. During peak times - seating will be limited, possibly non-existent. If you try Pearl Street Taphouse go during off-peak hours for the best service and seating options.
