Already Famous in Glendale, this joint sports a classy intimate atmosphere with sophisticated interior design. The crowd is very diverse, going from locals to trendsetters and hipsters. On the Saturday night we went there was a live DJ playing great music. They also play old black and white silent movies from the 20's in the background which makes for a great conversation piece. On to the most important part: the drinks. I got a Whiskey Sour, which was literally a feat just to watch the bartender make. He worked like a skilled artist and at the end I was left with a delicate fancy cup of some strong whiskey sour that tasted really unique and great. Great drinks, great atmosphere. This is my go to place if I need a drink! My friend and I absolutely love this place. Chill ambience and they have different events going on depending on the day. We usually go on Thursdays and they have their game night which starts around 8PM. Drinks are kinda pricey but you get what you pay for. I forgot the cocktail I usually get -- but it's super good. And I love that they have Racer 5 IPA. That's what I get most of the time. The food has a reasonable price and is good too. Pretty much everything we tried didn't disappoint. I love their burgers, it's amazing! Their fries is good too especially if you like garlic and truffle on your fries! We had their buffalo wings too. They also serve disco fries now, it's new. Fries served in buffallo sauce = BOMB. The servers are excellent, they know their cocktails and are very friendly! Our bartender is Artur. This place is way overpriced and the bartenders were douchey. They stood around talking to this group of girls and doing shots with some of their customers. Last I heard that was illegal. It looks pretty bad when you are paying high prices and the staff is not attentive, and they are just as in a hurry to get drunk as the customers. On a positive note, they make decent drinks and have table games. I would not suggest this bar, though. You are better off driving to other parts of town or walk a few blocks north to some other bars. read more

They have an amazing happy hour from 3-8 pm everyday, also they got late night happy hour on Tuesday and Wednesday nights that start at 10 pm. They also have karaoke on Sunday nights at 9 pm and live jazz on Monday that starts at 8pm. This bar has it call best place to have a drink on weekdays and to party on weekends. I don't know how I haven't wrote this review yet. This is one of my favorite bars in Glendale. The guy in the front who checks IDs is really nice. The bartenders make your drinks as strong as you want and the overall atmosphere here is perfect. It's very laid back and they have games that you can play to make the night a bit more fun. Also, recently there's a new owner but from what I can tell they have just added few new screens and a sign. Hopefully they don't change it too much. If you're not a douchebag go here haha. Walking distance from the Americana and my favorite restaurant in Glendale (Raffi's), this bar is in prime location. First couple of stars there, because if you want a drink outside of the Americana this is the best spot. The rest of the stars come from the service, the drinks, and the atmosphere. I loved this bar. Only a few months old, it's still trying to figure out what it wants to offer people--live music, DJ and dancing, etc. I think it will find its way, and be very very fun. I can't wait to return and see how it's going as more people start showing up. The place looks and feels really nice on the inside. Well-lit, comfy seating (plenty of it too) and a large bar. The cocktails are tasty and there's good variety on the menu. There weren't any beers on the menu, so if you sit down and want to order a beer, you have to stand up and check things out at the bar or chalkboard. The waitress we had didn't know much about their beers, but was kind enough to let me sample any. Mostly all craft beers, local. Averagely priced for drinks, but the memorably thing about this place for me was how fun it felt inside. Cool ambience, with a projector playing a funny old movie on the wall against some DJ music. From the moment I entered The Famous, I was very taken with the atmosphere and decor. After taking my first sip of one of their eponymous cocktails, I knew I had found my new favorite cocktail hour location. The bartenders are friendly and seem to be truly expert mixologists. The selection of cocktails on the menu includes many great options that seem to be variations on classics ("The Famous," for example, appears to be a variation on the Manhattan). But the guys behind the counter are perfectly prepared to make you a classic drink as it was originally formulated -- or to just go off menu. Actually, it's not really "off menu," because there is an option on the menu encouraging you to ask the bartender to make you a custom concoction. I recommend that if you selection this option, you give them a starting point (e.g., what kind of booze you like) for best results. My friend did this and she was very satisfied with her custom gin drink. And if you just want a glass of top shelf something-or-other by itself, the selection is quite broad. You can even get several different types of mezcal, which is something I haven't seen at many other places (although maybe that's because I haven't been on the West coast long). I was not paying very close attention to the beer selection, but I believe I saw 10 or so options, including one of my personal favorites, Racer 5 IPA from Bear Republic. But look to other reviewers for better information about the beer selection. There is a food menu, though it's quite small. Other reviewers may know more about that, as well, but I suggest that you go elsewhere for your meal and retire here for some adult beverages and socializing afterwards. The evening I was there, there was some low key music by some local artist. It was surprisingly entertaining, and wasn't too loud (which is a problem at a lot of other bars that feature live music). There are a couple of TVs, but they even shut them off when the musical entertainment started, which I appreciated. In summary, the booze selection is very impressive; the atmosphere is hip and stylish; the cocktails are excellent and mixed by bartenders who are knowledgeable, skilled and friendly. 5 stars all the way. read more

Only complaint is it somehow acts as a wind tunnel and can get cold if you sit near the front so make sure to move towards the back around the corner. read more

The place may look small from the outside but it's pretty roomy on the inside so it could even work for a birthday gathering! This is a comfortable fun place to meet friends for a yummy drink. Unfortunately, every time I've gone women come in with their small children asking for money. It's sad and happens multiple times in single visits. I'd assumed it was an anomaly but it occurred again last night. Quiet on a Friday night. Very chill crowd. I wish it was a little more happening and there was more mingling going on but it's just a place to grab drinks, arrive with a large entourage and enjoy the decor. The cocktails are what stand out, the beer selection is small. Bring the party with you and you'll have fun here. We were a group of 3 girls looking to mingle and it wasn't happening.
