Very hip and cool bar with an amazing selection of whiskey. The music selection were all cool oldies coming through an awesome surround sound audio system. Dim lighting but very cozy feel. Prime spot for a date, a casual drink, and a pre game spot for a fun night out. Friendly staff who happily offered drink recommendations. Best part was that they were also enjoying the music and scene and not just doing their job

Stopped by Gold Line Bar in Highland Park for drinks with some friends and had a fun time overall. This place definitely lives up to its reputation as a vinyl-spinning bar -- they had The Black Keys playing on vinyl the night we went, which really added to the atmosphere. The space itself has a really cool, vintage feel with walls of records and dim lighting that makes it feel cozy but lively at the same time. The only downside was how packed it was -- it took a while to get drinks and it was hard to move around at times. That said, the drinks we did get were excellent, well-balanced, and worth the wait. I'd definitely come back, but probably on a less crowded night to really enjoy the music and the vibe.

Goldline has a very intimate and chill vibe. I went on a Tuesday so it wasn't too crowded, but it was perfect for hanging out and listening to the DJ. They had a wide selection of cocktails and the ones we got (mezcal & tequila) were really tasty. I would recommend checking it out.

Cool bar in Highland Park. Good music. A mixed crowd. Was packed on a Friday night but we luckily were able to snag a standing spot by the open window. Drinks were unique and strong. Bathroom is only single person so the line gets longgggg.

Cool little vinyl bar in highland park. Parking could be difficult depending on the time of the day but it's generally quite active in this area. The drinks were good and the vibes were on point but the music can be a little too loud at times. Overall worth stopping by!

Visited Gold Line with Friends, bar hopping a little bit in the trendy area of Highland Park (on Fig). The bar is very hip, and is known for having a great vinyl music collection. So first check, good music and vibes. Second check I got a Japanese Highball and was very good. The place was a little crowded, but my friends and I were still able to find seating in the back. Overall good times, good drinks, and good music. Thumbs up. Tip: Like the name suggests, the bar is located near the Gold Line (Now the A Line) Metro station. If bar hopping, also check out the Highland Park Bowl almost next door, and easy to miss but cool Good Housekeeping

Came here with my friend and we had a great time! Drinks were flowing, can't go wrong with a vodka soda lol. The ambience is incredibly chill and music is on point! The service doesn't disappoint, and I always come back to hang out.

I came here with a friend for a quick drink before meeting up with other friends. We found street parking on N Ave 56. We only had time to get one drink each, but we thoroughly enjoyed them (I really liked the goldline). The vibes here are great - love the vinyl, love the music playing. We will definitely be back to try more drinks.

I want to know if I can bring outside food. Can't really do alcohol without food or snax?

The bartenders are pretty chill so I would imagine they would if you ask - also there are plenty of place to eat near by - and literally a place right next door

This spot opened about a year ago, and has a cool speakeasy style entrance at the Highland Park Bowl bowling alley. It is a small space, and I would highly recommend making a reservation on Resy. You have 90 minutes to drink and dine. I parked behind the bowling alley where there is a medium sized pay parking lot. Park in a space, remember your space number painted on the ground, and go to the pay station at the end of the lot. I found the parking machine to be extremely finicky as did other people. After ten minutes of failure, I ended up moving my car to another space, and then it worked. This has nothing to do with the Lucky Tiki, but FYI if you park there. We walked around to the front of the bowling alley, and checked in. Seating options include at the bar, tiki hut booths, and high top tables. The décor inside is a tiki lovers paradise. The room has a high ceiling with many tiki lamps, floats, puffer fish, tiki huts, thatch, ropes, barrels, netting, carvings, a hanging canoe, and a large tiki right in the middle of the space. In addition to the great décor, when you order certain drinks, special effects are triggered. There was also great tiki music playing all evening. We sat at the bar since we always enjoy talking to the bartenders. We actually ran into Skipper Christian in the parking lot on the way in, and he ended up being our main bartender, with Nick and Jo also working behind the bar. We put in a food order right away. The chicken potstickers ($12) came with five tasty bites, and the garlic teriyaki dipping sauce was good. We also had the giant pretzel ($16) which comes with mustard, beer cheese, and ranch sauces. This was excellent, and the perfect filling snack before a bunch of drinks. My first drink was the Siren's Song (Flor de Cana Eco rum, lemon juice, cassis, Oloroso sherry, apricot foam topper, $19). This drink is served in a great mermaid with skull mug and triggers special sound effects and bubbles fill the air. Those bubbles on top of the drink had a great light citrusy apricot flavor, probably the best flavored bubbles I've ever had. The drink itself was very good and balanced with some complexity. She wasn't sure what to order at first, and Christian asked her what flavors she liked. He ended up making a spin on a Tradewinds with some mango and pineapple to go along with the apricot and coconut. It was nicely balanced and not too sweet, even with all that fruit in there. My second drink was the Sun of Suns (Tierra de Acre mezcal, coconut cream, Giffard mango liqueur, pineapple juice, lime juice, $17). This was coconut and pineapple forward with some good smokiness in the background. Her second drink was the Whatever Floats Your Boat (Ford's gin, lemon juice, velvet falernum, orgeat, passion fruit syrup, guava soda, topped with hazelnut passion fruit foam, $19). It is served in a cool boat mug, and triggers thunder sound effects and lighted mechanical Polynesian tiki characters paddling a canoe over the bar. This was another good balanced drink. It was a little gin forward and the passion fruit popped out, maybe from being both in the drink and the foam top. That creamy hazelnut passion fruit form on top is delicious. I'd happily have a glass of that on its own. We were still a little hungry so we ordered the Hawaiian pizza (marinara, diced pepperoni, red onion, pineapple chunks, hot capicola ham, $16). It was another good tasting, perfectly sized snack, and the crust was light and airy. We were already fifteen minutes over our time limit, but we got the green light to stay longer to order a third drink to share. We ordered the Tiki Diablo (Flor de Cana Eco rum, Worthy Park 109 rum, Alma Tepecha chile liqueur, orange juice, lime juice, mango syrup, guava soda, $24). This drink serves two people, is served in a cool volcano bowl with glowing red lava around it, and comes with a fire show. Unfortunately, right after it was served, the host came over and said we were over our time and had to leave shortly. Christian made up for it by giving us two tall pours to go enjoy in the bowling alley bar area which was fine. We were happy we got some extra time inside. The drink was also very good, balanced with a little complexity. We had a great time. There is so much great décor to look at. The drinks and food were very good, and some of the the drink presentations and special effects were the icing on the cake. All of the bartenders were very friendly and a lot of fun. We purchased up a few zombie glasses to take home as a souvenir. I'd definitely recommend visiting the Lucky Tiki in Highland Park!

The vibe pulled us in right away--dim, moody lighting, cozy but still lively. It's one of those spots where you actually want to stay and hang out for a while. The drinks were really good. I even tried an espresso martini for the first time here and it was delicious--smooth, not too strong, and honestly kind of addictive. Perfect if you want something that doesn't just taste like straight alcohol. We also had some food and were pleasantly surprised--everything felt a little elevated but still really comforting. We were told seating was first come, first served, so when a table opened up outside, our group of five sat down while part of our group went inside to order. Almost immediately, my friends were aggressively accused by a waitress of bringing outside alcohol, which was completely untrue. Shortly after ordering multiple drinks and several plates of food, another staff member came to our table and began yelling at us, threatening to kick us out for being "rude" to staff, even though we had done nothing but order our food and drinks. What made it even more uncomfortable was watching other guests openly smoking weed while staff said nothing, yet our group felt watched, accused, and singled out the entire time. As the only Latino group sitting outside, the experience left us feeling unwelcome, uncomfortable, and discriminated against. As a fellow restaurant owner, I understand hospitality and house policies, which is why this treatment was especially disappointing. What should have been a fun birthday celebration turned into a terrible experience, and we ended up leaving early.
