I've been curious about The Farm at SummitWynds for quite some time and finally had a chance to visit. Parking/check in was a fairly smooth process, The women at the check-in stand were very pleasant and knowledgeable about the event and provided some clear easy to follow directions. The property is quite spacious and similar to Lavender Waves Farm and Nashoba Valley Winery. The property is set up into different sections which allows them to host various events such as lavender picking, unicorn/butterfly experiences, weddings, and they even have an Airbnb on the property. I attended the butterfly expierence but due the heat the butterflies weren't as active. I still found enjoyment in roaming the property and visiting the gift shop. Due to the direct exposure to the sun on the property, I would definitely recommend a hat during your visit. I would be interested in visiting the farm again during peak lavender bloom season. overall, visiting the farm was a good experience and I would definitely recommend it to others as events become available to the public. read more

It's not the experience you want - go to the local hardware shop and sit in the pots of lavender they have for sale. The "farm" has a small garden of lavender maybe 18" tall, a ride that goes nowhere and a string of over-priced vendors. Very disappointing and certainly not worth the $20/pp entry nor the drive out to the "farm" (aka a rip-off). read more

To say I was disappointed is an understatement. This place is a complete scam. I spent $70 for 3 of us to see the unicorn experience at this lavender farm with craft vendors, food trucks, games, a nature walk, hay ride. What a joke -there was 3 "unicorns" they were tied up so there horns would stay on but they were tied in a way that they could not move or even sit down. It was horrible! There was no hay ride. I asked where the nature walk was but the workers weren't sure. There was maybe 6 overpriced craft vendors and 1 food truck. No restrooms only ports potty's with no water or sanitizer!! And the lavender farm?? Where is it??? There was a few bushes -it looks nothing like the website. How they can charge $23 a person is disgusting! I now know why they only pre-sell tickets ahead of time because if you went there to buy a ticket you would turn around and walk right out. I'm all about supporting local but this is a total bait and switch scam. Never again save your money. read more

I was a bit disappointed after driving so long to this sold out event to witness an underwhelming amount of lavender. On the map provided, there were two designated areas to see lavenders grow... one area was covered in a black tarp (to be grown later?) and the other area was barely growing or drying. I understand that plant growth can't be controlled, but maybe save people time/money by informing them that the flowers weren't in completely there? The 3 stars given are for: 1 - the friendly staff 2 - the weather that day 3 - the amount of lavender flowers you can buy there... come to think of it, maybe they should've harvested less of the flower... I was extremely disappointed at the Lavender Fest last night. I generally don't give bad reviews, but am really hoping this may lead to improvements for the future. 1: There was only one food vendor, offering only 2 choices with no signage that they were cash only. Had to find out after waiting in line and placing order. 2: Website said there would be an ATM. There wasn't one. 3: Website said bring chairs. Why? there were plenty of tables and chairs set up. 4: Brewer accepted credit cards, but again only offered 2 beer choices. and wasn't staffed properly, so long line. 5: The cute animals were put away, and most of the vendors were gone. In conclusion, The event price was high for just a few pretty photos with lavender and a live band. read more

Went to the lavender festival here and paid $20 for ticket. The event said rain or shine and it happened to be raining the day we went but we assumed that there would still be things to do and that we would be able to pick lavender. When we got there it was a downpour so we decided to get the lavender lemonade advertised and wait out the storm in the barn. The lavender lemonade however was cash only which was not advertised so we could not purchase any. We then decided to see if we could get a bottle of the lavender wine instead but were told that they could not sell bottles at the location...of the lavender farm. After waiting out the storm for an hour we decided to try to pick the lavender but were told that we could not because of the rain. There was no option to buy pre picked lavender either so we were not able to even get a bundle of lavender after paying $20 for the event. On top of this the only lavender patch that we were able to pick from was a very small patch in the front even though there was a huge patch in the back which was apparently off limits. This event was extremely disappointing as we were not able to actually get anything advertised, not even the lavender. read more

This location is beautiful, but it was not very kid friendly. I was there for a photoshoot with a photographer and the staff/owners(?) seemed very unhappy to have young kids there. The kids were not allowed to run (try getting young kids not to run around and have fun). The staff appeared very unhappy with the kids being there and were not very friendly. They were watching us like prey the entire session, and when my 6 and 4 year olds ran up a row of lavender, one worker drove over on his little vehicle and explained to my 6 year old that he needs to walk while on the farm. My kids are very friendly and said hi to every staff member we walked by, none of them reciprocated with a "hi" back. read more

The staff is unwelcoming and unfriendly. Amy was particularly rude. This is not a hospitable place to bring your family. I feel sorry for the animals under their care. One of the poor sheep dogs had it's tail cut off. Breaks my heart. Getting here is difficult as the driveway was slippery and poorly maintained. I held a very small wedding (58 people) at this venue. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. It was a beautiful farm and the barn was lovely. However, I have never dealt with a more unprofessional, rude person than the owner. When we first signed the contract she was pleasant. After that -not good. Would never return my calls when I had questions. The contract stated we were to clean up. Which we did- however she was so rude about it AND charged me for the time to clean. She was rude to many of my guests. (One who was dropping off a handicapped person) I was picking up flower petals in the rain outside. We left the place spotless. She put such a bad taste in my mouth after such a beautiful day. read more

Lavender fest was a complete disappointment. After arriving at 11AM, I was told that I needed to drive 2 miles to the high school and then shuttle over. Only VIP cars can park on site. We drove to the Wachusett High School and then waited in line for 45 minutes for a shuttle bus to the farm. We arrived at 12. The lavender was mostly dead. There were two goats, a couple horses, and $10 pony rides. Then there were a bunch of vendors selling over-priced organic soap and similar items. I cannot believe that I paid money for this event and wasted so much time coming out here. We ended up spending more time waiting for the shuttle bus than we did at the "sold-out" lavender fest. Many other people there were complaining about how much of a let-down the whole experience was. read more

Went to the Sunflower Festival yesterday. The second day of this festival. The sunflowers were 90% dead. And of those that could be picked were sub-par - small flower, skinny base. It looked nothing like the picture on the website. The food truck also cancelled so you have to order your food from a pizza place and they delivered. It was easy to tell that the sunflowers were already bloomed. $17 for what? no sunflowers to see or pick and not food truck. 5 stars for the view. read more

We drove over an hour to see "fields of lavender" at this sold out event. Total bust. Most of it was either dead or hadn't yet bloomed. There was one food vendor with limited options. Thankfully I didn't purchase the VIP tickets, because the $10 I spent on the regular ones were a waste. read more

I usually don't do this but I was extremely unsatisfied with the sunflowerfest tonight, Friday sept 3rd 2021. Three of us went and it cost me a crazy amount for nothing. I bought 2 tickets online for 17 each and then my other daughter came and it cost me 20 at the door. For that amount of money that gives u the grounds. Everything else cost money, crazy!! Sunflowers 2 dollars a piece, lemonade 3 dollars, beer 7 a glass. I mean come on really, u can't throw in the dying sunflowers and a cup of lemonade for the 20 I paid to get onto the property. The sunflowers were sad and half were dead. I also bought tickets for Friday night which was supposed to be 18 and up and there were so many kids. Save your money and go to another sunflower place. I find this a bit greedy. Other sunflower fields charge 1.00 a stem they charged 2.00 a stem. I get that places are suffering from the pandemic but this was a bit much. I could've went out for a nice dinner for what I spent and bought me some sunflowers. i mean charge 5-10 dollars to get in or charge 20 and let people take a few sunflowers and give them a cup of lemonade. Love this place but with these prices will not go back. Save your money folks, not worth the high price u pay to enjoy just the grounds. read more

Enjoyed an evening for a "couples lavender experience" at this beautiful place. Well organized and felt very comfortable with the social distancing protocol in place. The lavender was stunning and the grounds are serene. We relaxed and watched the sunset with a picnic dinner and wine before picking lavender and walking the nature trail. We can't wait to come back. My mother-in-love absolutely loves this lavender farm and talks about it every time we visit her. I ordered her a couple of items for Mother's Day, and she was so happy! What I was happy about was the OUTSTANDING customer service that Amy provided! She went so far above and beyond the call of duty, I couldn't believe it. After I placed my order, she contacted me via email to confirm a few details. We had a very pleasant exchange that resulted in her making my mother-in-love's Mother's Day extra special. Love this place. It used to be an old ski lodge, and is converted to a place to hold weddings. The lodge is historical, and they did an AMAZING job with renovating it with stylish decor and rustic knick-knacks. It is rural, up a hill past the horse barn, and wide open with amazing views. I hope and pray that the town and any other agencies continue to support the use of this building, that otherwise would just be sitting there and not enjoyed, if it wasn't for any weddings. I understand that neighbors may not like cars driving or evening noise, but if I were a neighbor I'd be happy that so many people are enjoying one day out of their life in this unique historical spot. The venue owners are not impolite, I fully disagree on this. You can't always expect people to be happy jolly all the time, or perfect either. But Amy and Dick and their daughter were friendly, and communicative. I saw other comment about horse crap. In my opinion, as far as smell goes, is almost no different than Golden Lamb Buttery, another farm venue. People who want to have a farm wedding understand this farm aspect. The brand-new barn is equipped to accommodate 80+ people and soon, they will have a large tent to accommodate more. What a money making scheme this was. If you like extremely over priced things this is the festive for you. Small flower pot same as you gen get in local hardware store for 5.00 they want 35.00. 15.00 to get in then if you want to do a craft or see a demo it is an other 20.00 or more per thing. As for the lavender fields I would not call a few small rows fields. All the animals shown in the photos are no place in site. No animals were running around only one 3 goats behind a fence. The gift shop is literally the size of a broom closet and 3 people can not go inside at the same time as it will not hold 3 people. The adds and web site make you think you are getting a lot more for you money and very misleading. Bottom line unless you are going to drop 60.00 or more do not bother with this place because the 15.00 you pay gets you in the door and nothing else. After 5 minutes of looking around it is time to go. So I figured I paid 3.00 a minute to stand and look at a few clumps of lavender. I was trying to defend my sister from Laurie after she made her cry because she decided to be rude instead of politely remind us of the rules in the field that are not posted anywhere on the farm in obvious print. This old lady told me I didn't have a brain, implying that I, a 22 year old woman with a bachelor of science, was a an idiot, barely giving me a chance to tell my side of the story over a miscommunication. She "apologized" after my dad forced her to. This lady shared a lot of unnecessary personal information about her mental health and her opinion on parenting style with my family, leading me to believe that that she should be nowhere near children. Chip made me concerned for any young girl that decides to enjoy a day here with the flowers. He's a rude old man with a nasty attitude, yelling at customers when there was 5 min left in the session and demanded I tell him my name after I asked for his after I witnessed him be rude to a dad holding his son. There were no locks on any of the animal enclosures, which could have been a huge liability issue if a child unlatched one. I'm so deeply embarrassed for these people and their "business." I'm extremely unhappy with what should have been a relaxing and exciting experience. I rarely get to spend time with my family and these people ruined our day and we wasted over $100 on it. I want all of our money back and a real apology. Save yourself some money and go to Lowe's and buy your own lavender. It's definitely not as difficult to care for as they state since my mom has a plant of her own in our garden that has been thriving for a few years. This place is not equipped to handle public visits at all. I wish I could give negative stars. In conclusion, I personally and wholeheartedly do not recommend going to this place and I will do everything in my power to ensure that I get the word out about this place on every platform that I can. Half of a mini horse enclosure was covered in feces, and as a student of animal behavior, I know for a fact that horse didn't poop that much before 9am. I'm extremely unhappy with what should have been a relaxing and exciting experience. I rarely get to spend time with my family and these people ruined our day and we wasted over $100 on it. Great views on top of a hill of beautiful rolling hills...and horse crap. Do you think you could send someone out to clean up the 3 or 4 piles left behind? I didn't see a single horse, but I knew they had them. Loved it directly in my view during dinner. Could maybe use some lights in the parking lot, too...something that should be a no-brainer...no one wants to leave an evening event and walk to their car with just the moon and a couple nearby street lights to guide them. Lastly, I've heard nothing but horror stories from the management of this place. When they were needed they were nowhere to be found, but when it came close to shutting it down they made sure the DJ knew it. Friends witnessed all of this and no one had anything good to say, except the food was amazing (Peppers Catering, not affiliated with SummitWynds). Such a beautiful farm for weddings. Gorgeous views and grounds. The main structure for the ceremony is gorgeously decorated in a simplistic nature. The small touches make the venue stand out. The tent is optimal for a large party. The dance floor and chandeliers make the tent charming. Would suggest a bus rental to get guests to the property. Uber was also available.
