*Note: This is actually a -1000000 star review, but I had to leave 5 stars in order to avoid my review immediately being taken down by the business. Before I can even begin my review of my personal experience at this farm, I want to state that I attempted to post my review of this business on Google multiple times. Every time I tried to post, the review never showed up outside of my account. I know this because I asked friends and family to confirm. I quickly realized that the reason for this must be that the business is continuously reporting my review as inappropriate, even though there is absolutely nothing stating in the Google review guidelines that I cannot post my opinion about a business that I visited publicly on this platform. Also, I posted the same exact review on Yelp a few days ago and it was still there, until today when my sister informed me that she could no longer see it, so that one has been reported by the business now too. Clearly there is nothing wrong with the wording and they likely found out about due to my review on Google. So this business is just being petty and refusing to hold themselves accountable for the endless list of things they did wrong. With that being said, my hand was forced and I had to create a new Google account in order to get my review out into the world. The 5 stars is for the hope that this doesn't get reported right away and that enough people will see it because I know I am not the only one that is disappointed with this place. Below is my original review that I attempted to post, and is also posted on Yelp. Original Review: I recently had a horrible experience here because of the relentlessly rude workers including Chip, Laurie, and another woman that yelled in my face. I was trying to defend my sister from Laurie after she made her cry because she decided to be rude instead of politely remind us of the rules in the field that are not posted anywhere on the farm in obvious print. This old lady told me I didn't have a brain, implying that I, a 22 year old woman with a bachelor of science, was an idiot, barely giving me a chance to tell my side of the story over a miscommunication. She "apologized" after my dad forced her to. This lady shared a lot of unnecessary personal information about her mental health and her opinion on parenting style with my family, leading me to believe that she should be nowhere near children. Chip made me concerned for any young girl that decides to enjoy a day here with the flowers. He's a rude old man with a nasty attitude, yelling at customers when there was 5 min left in the session and demanded I tell him my name after I asked for his after I witnessed him be rude to a dad holding his son. There were no locks on any of the animal enclosures, which could have been a huge liability issue if a child unlatched one. I'm so deeply embarrassed for these people and their "business." They board horses here and I'm not convinced that they have enough space or food. If you are boarding a horse here, please check on him/her to make sure they are safe. I'm concerned for the animal's wellbeing, and I'm convinced that animal care behind the scenes is less than ideal, and the lockless enclosures is proof of that. I contacted the town of Holden to officially report this business and will be contacting the USDA to get a wellness check on the animals. Half of a mini horse enclosure was covered in feces, and as a student of animal behavior, I know for a fact that horse didn't poop that much before 9am. I'm extremely unhappy with what should have been a relaxing and exciting experience. I rarely get to spend time with my family and these people ruined our day and we wasted over $100 on it. I want all of our money back and a real apology. Save yourself some money and go to Lowe's and buy your own lavender. Set up your own lavender fest in your backyard, clearly just about anyone can do it. It's definitely not as difficult to care for as they state since my mom has a plant of her own in our garden that has been thriving for a few years. This place is not equipped to handle public visits at all. I wholeheartedly do not recommend going to this place and I will do everything in my power to ensure that I get the word out about this place on every platform that I can. Do better. As you can clearly see, there is nothing wrong with this review, and by reporting it, they are taking away my first amendment right to the freedom of speech, which is the whole point of online reviews in the first place. I'm not happy with Amy Parker's apology, she blocked me before I could even think about accepting it. I wish I could post the screenshots, but google will not let me. I may copy/paste them into a separate review to back up my side of the story. I encourage the owner to respond and for all who visited and had a bad time to ask for a refund. I got one and you will too! read more
