I love how family friendly feel they have. Not saying bring your kids family (which they are kid friendly) but as a female in her 30s who just wants to come to a place and have a cocktail and eat after work (which the food is AMAZING) by herself, it's very welcoming and friendly. Probably won't be back. Firehouse used to be a good neighborhood restaurant. The new(er) owners clearly have more relaxed standards of service, food quality, and cleanliness. For a place that used to serve ribs and chicken parmesan that rivaled good BBQ or Italian restaurants, Firehouse is not at all what it used to be. Even the pizza is hit or miss - the crust and toppings are very inconsistent. Raw one time, burnt the next. Stay home or go elsewhere unless you're a barstool drunk - that's what fits Firehouse now. read more

Been here a few times and always a great experience! Had their Perch and Ribs combo with fries and cole slaw this time which was awesome. The fish was fried perfectly and the ribs were fall off the bone tender. Their BBQ sauce was amazing - wish I could buy it! Great atmosphere, service, very friendly staff. Not bad, not good either. Their tap selection is small but really solid. The menu is pretty standard with every other bar/pub in the area, nothing special. The food is decent. The interior needs some updating, the ceilings are so low it feels like I'm eating in someone's basement. Wait staff is nice. The staff was pretty friendly here, which is a plus. The drink specials looks pretty yummy but we didn't order them..maybe next time. we ordered the firehouse chili and the french onion soup....the french onion was awfully salty but still tasty. The chili was pretty good too with a nice kick. I also ordered the buffalo chix salad. All they did was put hot sauce on the chicken and call it "buffalo chicken" I still thought it was a good salad and would probably order it again. One thing I did not like about the place was the music...they really need to re-evaluate what kind of music they are going to play..it was pretty bad. read more

Every time we eat at the Firehouse, we usually say "I liked the food and waitress, we should eat here more often". The best way to describe it is a great burger (real patty), excellent odds and ends (fish in various preparations), fresh salads, and fantastic french onion soup. My wife had a good martini. Portions are generous. Waitstaff is down to earth with a friendly face at the end of a day. read more

Bad experience tonight in the the dinning room. We came in at 7:30 and sat down at a high top table and waited about 5 minutes to see a server. The bar was full but there was no one tending the dining room. There was only two other tables that were occupied and then finally a server came from the back of the kitchen. I figure a smoke break , so she walked by us to take care of the table behind us and bring back their finished dishes and then vanished for another minute or so. Than when she comes back out and tends to the table behind us again without even looking at us to see that we existed , That was enough it was off to Penne Lane where we had a Fantastic meal and that is where I spent my $100.00 tonight. read more

Had a great lunch! Hubby had a taco salad. It was a great size, made with fresh ingredients, and nicely prepared. I added a side salad to the calamari appetizer for my entree. The calamari came with capers which was a nice touch. The service was spot-on, pleasant and engaging. We will certainly be back. read more

The mozeralla sticks were delicious. The Firehouse Burger was amazing and it had homemade BBQ sauce. They also had homemade ranch and their burgers were freshly made. The prices were very affordable. The food was good. They left some of the ingredients in the pasta dishes off the menu. The burgers were cooked as ordered, though a little charred on the outside. The sandwiches were hot and good. Fish and chips was cooked well, a little over breaded. Friendly service, the waitress was attentive but would stay away for long periods of time. She didn't forget to bring anything to our table, even asking if we needed extra napkins or silverware. It was nice and quiet on Tuesday afternoon when we went. I would not recommend going during a busy time, or when a sports event is on. This place is tiny, not big enough for large crowds. Not a place to bring small kids, but teenagers or older, quiet, well behaved tweens might enjoy the atmosphere. All the TVs were muted, but tuned into sports (or the lottery) so there wasn't anything to be distracted by, and we were Able to have and enjoy a conversation. read more

With bars being a dime a dozen in this neck of the woods, you would think they would want to keep any customer that walks in their doors a happy one. In my line of work, I'm in an average of 45 different bars throughout Macomb County every month. Well tonight we were told we could not smoke our e-cig in the bar. For one, since we have quit smoking, we have always asked every establishment if it was ok and have always been told it was fine. For some reason, as patron after patron spent more time smoking outside instead of drinking, we were asked to not use our e-cig. Funny, we were using it during our first drink, during our dinner, it wasn't until we finished eating where we asked to not use our e-cig. We will NOT be back! Heck I've been to bars that the patrons have their packs of cigarettes right in front of them next to their ashtray as they smoke the real things. Like I said, bars are a dime a dozen, there are 4 others within a mile of this joint. You would think when you are under new ownership, you would want to try to grab a new "regular" and keep them coming back. I guess we were just a receipt to them today and the last one they will ever get from us. I work too hard for my money to pay to get treated this way. read more

My husband and I go there a lot cuz we looove the pizza and the cheesy bread is yummy!!! Everything we've had there has been good and the dinner salad is real fresh as well as good fish in the summer. They have keeno and one night my man won $480!!! Living in this area for 15 years. Always passed by this place and never went in. I don't usually go to small restaurants. A friend told me to meet there to watch the game last week. I know a lot about the restaurant business so I can tell you that they do everything right here. Who ever the owner is knows what they are doing. Place is clean. All the food is made from scratch that I've had. It's not from a packaged frozen box like most places. Real patties on burgers. Ect ... daily specials are crazy cheep and very good and fresh. Tuesday is bogo huge burgers. They are the best burger around here. Bartenders are friendly and they even tell you what's on special when things are going on like Detroit sporting events. Anyway it's real close to my house so I've been back 3 times this week. Will keep coming back. I shouldn't be saying all this. I like the place as is. I don't want it to get to packed. Just okay. I used to go there when it was the Flying Machine and it was MUCH BETTER. They redecorated and most of the seating are stools with no backs and very small tables--which aren't conducive for a restaurant atmosphere IMO. It's more of a boring bar, I guess. I used to go to the Firehouse on 16 & Harper --for years. The service at the 16/Harper was better, atmosphere better, food better. We got the "famous ribs" and seriously they were no better than a pizza joint. Service was slow. Prices are average. Also, I ordered the potato chips as my "starch" and they were undercooked (soggy). Applebees does a much better job. The place also doesn't look that clean and saw some ants on my table and some bugs flying around near our table. Decided to go there because I had a half off coupon on one entree but won't return. Have been there before (around the time of their grand opening) and it was much better.
