The freshest and finest selection of seafood from the waters of Iceland. Flown in every couple of days and only sold in the case for 2 days. Then cryovac and frozen for substantial discount. They are a must visit if you want the freshest fish possible from the icy waters of Iceland. I've had fish I've never heard of and loved them all. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. It's a very small store, but well worth visiting as any wait will be short. They also have a loyalty program which is a nice touch. read more

I'd been meaning to try the Fish Dock since they opened. Today I got around to it and I'm very glad I did. Upon walking in, I knew I was in my kind of store. It is impeccably clean and well laid out. I faced the fish display and realized that it's the type of situation that I typically freeze in, the paralysis of having so many amazing choices. At that point, the owner informed me that I should have seen it earlier in the day. Thankfully, the owner was friendly and knowledgeable and spoke to me about several types of fish and the proper cooking method for each. This is one of the ways that a store like this stands apart from the typical supermarket fish section. Another way is quality and the Fish Dock is providing exceptional quality fish. I selected the Faroe Island salmon and found it to be superb, amazingly tender and subtle flavored. (it was significantly better than the very good salmon I had the week before from a local high end grocery store) I'm already looking forward to returning and will be recommending it to others. read more

I've been buying fish here weekly since it opened. Super great service as they marinate and package the fish in cooking tins so fridge to oven or BBQ which is very convenient. A patient of mine who is a restaurateur brought me some of the tastiest fish I've ever had from the The Fish Dock. Although it is not very close to my office I decided it was worth my drive. The first day I got the lunch special which was salmon and asparagus in a wrap with sweet potato on the side. Such a simple, fresh and truly delicious lunch. I was... pardon the pun.. hooked! Today I had the fish burrito. Long fish in smoked jalapeño and tequila marinade. Another home run! An explosion of flavor and freshness. My only warning about Fish Dock is once you start shopping there you will no longer be able to eat fish anywhere else. The fish is as fresh as can be - when there are storms in iceland they have to close the next day due to lack of fish. Great marinades too, easiest dinner on the planet is one of their fish in marinade, pop it in the oven, 15 minutes later, done. read more

We eat fresh fish at least 3 x's a week and have been frequenting our usual fish stores in Bergen county for 20 some years. Seems the prices have gone outasite! 25 a pound or more for certain fish. We try to keep it to under 20 a pound , but the quality must be excellent or we won't buy it, eat it or go back. Having moved recently , we discovered this place near Whole Foods, where we would never buy fish, way too expensive and who knows where they get it. This place is my No.1 go-to. Cute little store, nice selection of goods, great services, and most importantly, the fish are extremely fresh and tasty. We have tried every kind of fish/seafood product they have, and never disappointed. One of my favorite is the salmon with herbs marinate. Crab cakes are delicious as well. I read about this new fish market opening up in the Surbanite and decided to give it a try yesterday. We bought their Arctic Char for myself and my husband had the Haddock marinated in Ginger Sake. We also bought a small piece of Wolffish marinated in Mango Chili just to try since we'd never heard of it before. Their fish is the best we've ever had!!!! They import from Iceland and they have it delivered via cargo from their fisherman's nets to Newark airport within 48 hours of the catch!!! Believe me the fish is so fresh tasting you can tell the difference from any other store bought I've ever had. We used to go all the way to Fort Lee for fresh fish but this is way better!!! Went back today for more Wolffish and also bought some Ling Fish to try too! Their Gulf Shrimp looks amazing as well ! Will let you know. You've got to try this place. A friend introduced me to The Fish Dock when she brought some salmon and Halibut from there to our weekend house in the woods. They vacuum sealed each piece of fish separately for her at no additional charge which made keeping them frozen until we're ready to eat them so much easier. But I'm here to tell you about the fish. I'm not a big fan of salmon but this place changed my mind. The salmon and Halibut was SO DELICIOUS! The salmon tasted like sweet butter. I usually buy my seafood at Wholefoods. live in Jersey City but drive the hour drive north to pick up a few fillets from the Fish Dock to keep in the freezer for the week. The prices are on par with what you'd pay at Wholefoods but the quality is so much better. The place does not smell fishy like other fish stores. Everything is spotless and clean. read more

This is a welcome addition to Closter and they have excellent fresh fish and a nice variety. All of the marinated fish they sell is really tasty and easy to prepare once you get home. They also serve lunch which is very good and they have some prepared food to take home. I will be coming back. My only complaint is that I wish they were open on Sunday. read more
