A year or so ago I would have said definitely! However, it seems to have changed. Past 2 times? Fish mostly small pieces with no meat. Some sides were lacking, too. Not sure I will go back. read more

This is my second disappointment with these folks in a row. When they first opened, we were really excited because it would save us about 20 minutes driving from Muskogee to Sallisaw, where our favorite catfish place, Shads, is located. The catfish was always on point. Light flavorful and most of all crispy. My last two visits have dealt a very disappointing experience with not only the catfish but the shrimp as well. The catfish especially is just chewy. I don't know what the deal is but it's just not acceptable when you're spending $50 for lunch for two people. Sorry guys. I've given you two chances and you've let me down. From now on I drive the extra 20 minutes and I go to Chad's in Sallisaw where they have the best catfish in the country. read more

Fish Shack Friday! The food and service is just as good at the curb as it is inside. I called in an order for two, 3 piece catfish dinners. It was delivered to my vehicle as soon as I pulled up, by a super nice young lady wearing gloves and a face mask. Because I paid by credit card I didn't have to sign anything. Just grabbed the food and I was gone. Their to-go orders come with all the same great sides as when you dine in (beans, great slaw, tangy crunchy pickled green tomatoes, hush puppies and a serving of tartar sauce.) We had the crunchy fries with our order. It was a generous pile. It was a great catfish Friday lunch at home! Now that you have taken the time to read this ....Something to think about, considering the current situation we are all dealing with! The Fish Shack's current health score is 84. That is VERY GOOD! If you look at the health scores of some restaurants, you may want to give serious thought as to if you really really want to eat at them. I am now of the opinion that if a restaurant can't even maintain an average score of 70, I may choose to not risk my life by eating there. They obviously don't care about the safety of their customers. There are far too many restaurants that have scores in the 50's. If they don't care enough to maintain a safe restaurant environment and food, for themselves and their customers..... don't patronize them. Yasss! I love a good catfish!! I am so thankful I came to Tulsa to visit my friend because she taught me ALL about noodlin"!!! And next time I wanna try it!! For now, I'll leave that too the good ole' makers of this fish shack! First of all, free apps?? You've gotta be kidding me. Yessss all the way to unlimited access to deliciously drool-worthy pickled green tomatoes (to die for! I could not get enough), louder than normal hush puppies (great texture and bite), creamy dreamy cole slaw (omg my favorite!), and some baked good ole beans (needed some salt). This place is so amazing, they even do all you can eat!! I opted for the fried frog legs and the catfish. Man... they do some good ole' catfish right! Loved the coating, the moist-ness, the texture, the flavor...it met my expectations and it paired really well with the hush puppies they gave out and the cole slaw. I am dreaming of it now because they do it really well, and it doesn't taste heavy or greasy at all! The service was great and the atmosphere was very homey-kind of hole in the wall, kind of cozy but at-home feel. The green beans (side) was okay, definitely not worth it. The catfish and shrimp, as always, are the best around. Cole slaw above average, and the other side were great, especially the green tomato relish. My concern was the number of wait staff, including the manager, who didn't care enough about their customers to wear a mask. We won't be back until this issue is addressed. read more

This place is so dirty, the floor was sticky. Floors in restaurants should be mopped every day. The manager said they mopped it last week. The door into the kitchen was horrible and the workers were constantly using their hands to go through. The fish was tough. Little thin pieces that had little fish in them and over cooked.
