Wish I could have tried it. The reviews looked excellent here. The look is more bar vibe than restaurant. We couldn't seem to get anyone to acknowledge us to be seated. We were the only two people there, too. Finally left.

I come to the Fitz every time in Vail. I love the patio. Great place before concerts at the Ford Amphitheater.

The Fitz for happy hour is very special... the menu, ambience, service and entertainment on special days. Stop for a bite and drink prior your Amp concert.

Came here for dinner after a hard day of snowboarding on Wednesday. I made reservations but honestly, it was pretty dead so you can just walk in. The restaurant is located inside a hotel and offered free parking inside the garage which is a plus in Vail. The food was great for the price. We got the poutine to share and it was amazing! Completely hit the spot. I had a burger with truffle tots and the tots were absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this place for dinner if you're ever in Vail for a ski vacation.

Beautiful, peaceful patio overlooking the creek to enjoy a drink and a bite to eat. Flower boxes everywhere, very friendly, attentive service, and peaceful vibe. We enjoyed a Fire on the Mountain cocktail and martini, and split a Fitz burger with tater tots. Everything was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyable.

We went here because they had reservations at the last minute. The whole staff was so friendly. They were getting ready to close for a month but still so accommodating for us. We had a nice relaxing date night. They let us take our time. We enjoyed the food and drinks and the view and it was very peaceful.

We had dinner here two nights as we were staying at the Vail Manor Lodge. The food is always solid and the service is sometimes questionable. Great place to go to before a concert in Ford Amphitheater.

Easily our favorite spot in Vail. In fact, we loved it so much we came here twice! Without naming names, we made it a priority to visit all of the "must go restaurants" in Vail during our recent ski trip. After building out our itinerary, we still had an open evening without a dinner reservation. After scrolling through Yelp, I came across an unassuming restaurant in a hotel a short walk from ours that seemed reasonably priced and unpretentious called The Fitz. There weren't a ton of reviews, but the reviews were really good. Even though no one I knew that frequently visited Vail had mentioned the Fitz, I went ahead an made a reservation. Thank goodness I did... this place was absolutely incredible and blew all the "must go" Vail restaurants out of the water. Service was phenomenal, friendly, and quick. The drinks were generous and delicious. Old Fashion was great. The different flavored Moscow Mules were great. However, their spicy margarita was the drink we couldn't stop ordering. Most importantly, their food was so so good. The cheese curds are a must get appetizer. The 10 oz flat iron was perfectly cooked, melted in your mouth, and was packed with flavor. Also really enjoyed the truffle Mac and cheese and the Brussel Sprouts. We loved this place so much, we cancelled our reservation for our last night and came here again. Couldn't recommend this place enough!

    Excited to have dinner here!

And to stumble upon this chic and inconspicuous cocktail bar in the busy downtown was something I wasn't expecting and became a treat after a nice stroll through the town after dinner in my hotel room. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was at the place where my heart was calling for. There were two gents at the bar and one of them warmly greeted me and said I could sit anywhere I would like. I hence picked one of the bar seats. Except one table that was occupied by a couple I was the only one. I appeared to have picked the right time; I had the whole bar to myself (eventually though, several different groups of people streamed in; only a few of them sat at the bar close to me. The bar was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a little over 10 people.) Jeremy, who greeted me upon arrival, was a super host. As soon as I explained that wine is my usual got-to, he said he could mix and match reds and whites to create a "flight" based on what I had told him as to my likings. His extensive explanations as to what sorts of reds and whites the bar offers/serves was (of course) all in his memory. His eloquent speech with no filler words truly impressed me; he sure is a wine connoisseur. What he picked for me were... -2024 Pepiere "Les Gras Moutons" (Muscadet) -Kobal "Bajta", Hazole Belo (aka Orange Wine) -Sandlands "Red Table Wine (Lodi Red Blend) With his wealth of knowledge, after giving him only a hint of what I liked, what Jeremy selected for me to sample/sip was a superb choice. All of them were world-class excellence with elegance and beauty. I carefully and slowly sipped each one little by little to truly immerse myself in the art of wine. Yes, wine is a piece of art for sure. I think I said it correctly at the beginning of this review. This is a cocktail bar with variety of spirits which Jeremy could easily concoct just about anything from gin-based one to vodka-based one to tequila-based ones to whiskey-based one to name several. For those who don't drink, their zero-proof section also has something interesting to browse and choose. Not to mention, rotating pilsner or IPA on tap to name a few from the beer section as well. If you need a little bite to eat, their (changing) food menu has a good number of New American-style plates. The bar originally opened in a different building back in 2015 (I believe). They moved to the current location in 2019. They also offer various different classes so you can expand/extend your knowledge. So for your next foodie vacation in Vail, make sure to include Root & Flower in your list.

We walked in around 8 p.m. hoping to enjoy the live music, as we have many times before. Since Pepi's closes at 9, we assumed the music would continue until around closing time. Instead, we walked into an almost ghost-like atmosphere and were told that the musician had already finished because he hadn't taken a break since starting around 4. That was completely understandable, and we had no issue with it. As we were leaving, we happened to see the musician and simply said something along the lines of, "Sorry we missed you, have a good night." Instead of leaving it at that, he immediately asked us where we were staying and mentioned that he had played there the night before. He then asked whether we had seen him the previous night, and the tone and direction of the conversation made us uncomfortable. We politely played along, and he eventually told us to come back the next day at 4. What really caught us off guard happened as we walked away. We heard him refer to us to other guests or employees as "those people were weird." The irony of that comment was especially surprising considering that we had only stopped to politely say we were sorry we missed his performance. He was the one who continued the interaction by asking where we were staying and taking the conversation in an unexpected and uncomfortable direction. As longtime customers, this left a very bad impression. Guests should not have to wonder whether they are being mocked or talked about by people associated with an establishment immediately after a perfectly polite interaction. It made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable, and unfortunately it changes the way we feel about returning to Pepi's. After coming here season after season, we'll be taking our business elsewhere moving forward.

Only four of us were there as the other two were across the street at Christy's returning their rental skis. He was by himself and she gave the table with six chairs to him. His full party was clearly not there but she sat him anyway. Why is that allowed? Clearly favoritism. And to be clear, two of his friends showed up and the other three never arrived. So, at that point we told the hostess we were now a table of four and she said we could sit at a table that had 3 chairs. Well okay....we took it. We grabbed the table and asked other tables around us for the extra 3 chairs and everyone was nice enough to give us the extra chairs. Our server, Suzanne was excellent. Very attentive, friendly and immediately brought us our drinks and food. The nachos were tasty. Drinks were good but pricy. I give Suzanne 5 stars, food 3 stars hostess 0 stars. As anticipated, the place was gorgeous...with a slightly formal air. Given that it was in the Vail Village (near the ski slope), my husband was able to enter the place in his rugged ski suit. Despite the ambiance, it was a bit dead. I was disappointed with the lack of French music overhead...though maybe it was on so low, I didn't hear it? There were plenty of breakfast-brunch options, but on the menu, some items were noted as taking 20 minutes (which we didn't have time for!), so I was a tad bummed about that. In any case, my husband chose this Huckleberry Bacon French Toast, and I ordered the Maryland Crab Benedict. For drinks, we both just ordered plain coffee. As expected, the foods were good. I was more impressed with my husband's choice, this super-fancy french toast. Not only did it look amazing, it tasted spectacular! Mine was good, but disappointing at the same time. I really liked the Crab Benedict, but I only half-liked the side salad (basically just Arugula with a few Walnuts and Figs). The total bill for these items ran over 100 bucks... which, was to be expected in Vail. However, for such a pricey breakfast, I felt that I should have absolutely loved it...but it felt short of that. Overall, I just expected a bit more from this breakfast experience. Again, the decor was gorgeous, but the ambiance wasn't fully there (because of the lack of music?). Service felt a bit short-skimpy as well. Foods were good, but mine especially (Crab Benedict) felt a bit lacking. Let's just say that I've had Crab Benedicts as just as good for half the price...and with better sides. Maybe lunch or dinner experience is better here? In any case, am glad we checked out the place...but I doubt I'll choose it for breakfast again.
