Clayton does amazing work but is super flaky. He just simply doesn't show up even after a time is scheduled. Like other reviewers, I took time away from work. He didn't show up, not even a call or text to give me a heads up. He has mounted two TV's in my home so I wanted to give him a chance. Yea, some people just don't care about customer service. Months pass by, and my brother needed his TV mounted so i thought, "hey maybe things have changed." Nope. My brother contacts him, they schedule a day to come take a look at the work, and what do you know, a no call no show. I cannot recommend Clayton and the Floating TV enough. The trickiest TV for this job was mounting a 65" TV above a fireplace that didn't have electricity. However, one of Clayton's many specialties is his ability to tackle challenging projects and hide wiring. He went into our crawl space to move electrical over to the chimney, and drilled through some dense cinder block to pipe wiring in. He also moved a coaxial box for another tv while he was down there. Clayton is also the cleanest contractor I've ever worked with. He puts on booties, lays down blankets, wears a mask, and wipes down his work area (all without being prompted). I had Clayton and his brother install 6 tvs, 9 speakers, one sub, and a receiver this past weekend. I called over 5 AV companies and The Floating TV had the best prices. It took about 6 hours for everything and I felt bad because I forgot to get an extra volume control but Clayton said he'd come back and install it for free! Clayton is quick, very professional and easy to talk to. He's a bit hard to reach but I suppose you can't blame him for that. I bet he deals with alot of people seeing how good he is with his job. He installed my 65" TV by himself in about an hour. He cleaned up everything after as well. His prices are much cheaper than best buy and plus he CAN do more! Best Buy was such a hassle to deal with since they go through a contracting company and they can't even hide the wires behind the wall. Clayton hid the wires for me for an overall price that's less than what Best Buy offered me. Plus he also included 3 long HDMI cables for free. I would've had to pay for each of those with Best Buy since I'm supposed to provide ALL the materials. Clayton had all the materials needed in his van. I'm a little unhappy that the TV is a bit crooked but when I reached out to Clay, he was nice and responsive. Clayton and his team did an excellent job mounting our 82" Samsung flatscreen above the fireplace. It took about 90 minutes because of some extra work needed. I was concerned initially because the outlets needed to be moved and how it would turn out overall. Not only did he move the outlets and ran additional cabling he made it so tidy that it looks like it all came with the house. He vacuumed everything and even wore slip covers on their shoes on our carpet. We used a Mantle Mount and he installed it perfectly and neatly tying off all the cabling behind. A true professional. I hired Clayton to mount my 50 inch TV and had him hide the wires behind the wall. He arrived ready to work. Brought his own shoe covers too. Before starting he reviewed the service request with me. He assessed the bracket I provided to make sure it was appropriate to use. He covered the floor and moved items away from the worksite to prevent damaging them. He was fast and efficient. He removed and installed the TV all by himself. I used Bay Area Wall Mounts a few years ago, but I couldn't get an appointment with them this time around, so I found The Floating TV on Yelp. Clayton picked up when I called and we scheduled an appointment. He came out to my house within a week, hung 2 TVs and hid all the HDMI cables behind the walls. If you're reading this, the tldr is that I 100% endorse the Floating TV! I reached out to Clayton a few days before Christmas to mount 3 televisions, all with in-wall wiring, moving of electrical, and the need to build custom in wall boxes to house the apple tvs, one connect boxes, etc. He was super responsive, walked me through everything step by step, his quote was super reasonable, and he completed the job quickly and thoroughly! Clayton was super responsive to my request for a quote and within a day, he came over and completely re-mounted a 75 and 55 inch TV that my remodeling contractor had hung. I'm glad I called Clayton because the contractor did a horrible job. They didn't use appropriate hardware, missed the studs, and it was only a matter of time before my TVs would've fallen. Clayton explained everything as he was working, he was extremely pleasant, and thorough. He did a perfect job. The wires are hidden even better than before and the TVs are super secure and perfectly straight. He even cleaned up after himself, he cleaned my screens, and provided me with a much better mounting system for my 55 inch. He wore a mask and booties, and his prices were super competitive.
