He showed up on time with everything needed to complete our projects. As a new homeowner we had quite a lot to do that was called out in the inspection report. We had a panel that was called "double lugged" whatever that means, but it also had signs of burn marks behind the breakers!!! We had a ton of illegal splices in the attic and crawlspace which he cleaned up and put into "junction boxes" with covers as well as stapling the wires so they were too code. He found a broken splice in a metal conduit that powered the back porch light (or didn't power it) which was causing the breaker to pop due to the wires shorting out. I didn't even know wires could deteriorate inside metal pipe but I'm glad he found the problem before it caused a fire. He fixed everything on our inspection report so the home is safe. Next week he's coming back to start installing can lights in our kitchen and living room. He offered great advice about the type of lights, the placement and adding dimmers. He also taught me a lot about lighting such as light output called lumens, and the color of light called Kelvin's. He will be installing dimmers as well as color adjustable lights so the paint colors look right. Can't say enough great things about Jeff at Amp It Up Electric. After the lights we're gonna get ceiling fans and an electric car charger. He also referred us to local drywall guy and painter to help with repairs. The raised price also covers our regular remote network maintenance, ensuring your network continuously runs at peak performance following the conclusion of the project. A large portion of business model is our post-install support and efforts to create peace of mind for our clientele regarding our systems." However on that quote was also a $70/mo service plan that was supposed to cover the aforementioned post-install support. I asked about the double charge for support and asked if I could bring my own equipment and they ignored my email So this company is SUPER SHADY and please review your quotes and google any equipment that they tell you that you need because 1. you probably don't need it (we ended up fixing the internet ourselves) and 2. they are probably overcharging you. Just run the quote through Claude or ChatGPT and ask if there's anything concerning in it. It will do all the research for you.

In phase 1 of our remodel, the VSS team helped us update our wifi and establish Sonos across our 2 most populated rooms and our back patio. (Their flexibility and patience shined here as they did not push to expand into additional rooms yet because they knew we were planning a Phase 2 remodel) Because they did such a stellar job on the Phase 1 and because they were so professional, fast and flexible we reached out and asked them to add Sonos speakers across the entire house, plus 1 Sonos "Move" so we'd have another outdoor speaker we could place wherever we wanted in the back or front yard when entertaining guests. VSS gets 5+ stars from me because additionally as part of Phase 2 they also identified and FIXED a deficiency in the wifi setup that was mainly due to a wifi service upgrade after they had completed Phase 1. This improvement to the wifi was incredibly timely given my 3 kids were (still are) all home doing distance learning because of Covid-19. If you have A/V needs, these guys are the best.
