    Vanilla Cupcake Flower
    Larie L.

I really like patronizing small businesses (especially baked goods related) so was excited when I found out that Flower Cake and Cafe is nearby my place. It's a quaint little place that's selling hot/cold drinks and various desserts. I decided to buy various types so I can try them. Vanilla Cupcake Flower - for $7 this cupcake is not worth the price. The cake itself is sweet and the buttercream is so buttery and no flavouring at all. Almond Croissant - the croissant is okay but there is minimal almond filling. Salted Caramel Pecan Dacquoise - I find the dacquoise sweet for my liking and kind of spongy, not hard and crispy. I also didn't taste the salted caramel flavour in the cream. Raspberry Macaron - this macaron is a let down for me. Too much sugar, large air bubbles and uneven, grainy top - you already know you're not eating a good macaron. Overall really disappointed with the food quality here plus the fact that it's on the pricey side. Additional 1 star is for good service otherwise I would only have given 2 .

Amy and Julie are just the nicest people ever and they make the most amazing baked goods (the chocolate dacquoise is my favourite) and coffee. The Flower Cake and Cafe has an incredible selection of baked goods - everything from croissants and muffins to macaroons and dacquoise and of course, cupcakes. They also offer sandwiches and a wide variety of coffees and teas. We used to come by quite often when they were open on Saturdays but now that they're only open during the week, it's hard for us because of our work schedules - we try to stop by whenever we get the chance though. I highly recommend The Flower Cake and Cafe to everyone. Five stars.

Love this little cafe. It's really such a hidden gem. The staff are the best and their pastries are beautiful. Great gifts.

Very sweet and bougie place. It's a small place but do not underestimate it. The pastries they have…read moreare exquisite, not too sweet (when it comes to sugar) but filled with flavour. A lot of times when we try a sweet shop/pastry place the products are filled with sugar however Asters have found a balance and know how to prepare their stuff. Pastries: If you like chocolate - try the double chocolate cake (it's in the picture, I don't recall the correct name) this is chocolaty, not too sweet, soft but not too soft. If you like mousse, & pistachios - try the pastry on the right from the picture. It is crunchy from the outside, 2nd layer is soft (mousse) and the last layer is nuts/pistachio. If you like Mango (desis you must try this) have their mango sweet which is not in the picture but it's their best seller. It is amazing! Drinks: The mango matcha - again if you like mango, & matcha have this you won't regret it. Mix it properly and enjoy the distinct flavours of both (matcha and mango) it is slightly on a sweeter side though. The barista seems experienced based on the milk texture and the art of the latte. Kudos They have limited dining space so take note of that however there is a huge foodcourt so you can go there. You should also take note of the prices on the pastries, the small double chocolate cake was 10$ however it is clear that they are serving good quality stuff.

The aesthetic and the attention to detail when it comes to these desserts flawless, and exceptional. I enjoyed every single bite of my dessert. It was fluffy and it melted in my mouth, and I wish I could just eat my screen right now just looking at it lol. For drinks, we got hot chocolates, and they had one of the best hot chocolates I've ever tasted, and I'm not exaggerating. It was the perfect drink and taste to eat my dessert. Location: The location is very pretty, but it's pretty casual. The seating is pretty close to other guests in the restaurant or tables of two if I'm not mistaken. This is a perfect place to go with friends or family or on a quick date or by yourself. This place looked like it was located on a main street with street parking, but because I was visiting in Toronto, I'm not sure how the parking works as we took Uber. Service: The service was great, and they were very friendly and answered any questions regarding the desserts on display to help us pick the perfect one for ourselves. They also brought the food to our table, including the drinks. I 100% would go back to this location.

Their main location is in Mississauga, and they expanded to North York a few years ago. Service is nice and cheerful, making you feel quite welcome. I like their drink selection that has some interesting things like black sesame latte, tiramisu latte, and grapefruit tea. Their dessert select is good too, with things big and small. Their rolls and cakes are excellent, with plenty of cream, not too sweet. The cakes are beautifully glazed and decorated. The sweet potato cake is fluffy and light. The mont blanc has a nice chestnutty flavour, but is a bit too sweet for my liking. At the moment, they are selling Korean dubai chewy cookies, but we'll see how long this fad lasts...

But she was right LOL. It was really good, and it was even better than the desserts at the restaurant we had dinner at that night. We cut the 6" cheesecake into 12 small pieces, and it was perfect for a sweet little treat at the end of our meal :) The staff were courteous and ready to help. It was quite busy even on a Saturday evening around 6pm. There are also tables inside the shop for dining in. Other than whole cakes, they do have slices of cakes available and other mini desserts + a lot of macarons! We did request the shop to write HBD on the cake, but the staff said they are unable to do it at this location (not sure why, maybe don't have the proper tools?). We also tried asking for a candle; we ended up having to buy a pack of 6 candles at the shop :\

They have introduced a high-end gourmet macaron with their iconic logo on it. It is called Eugenie, named after Empress Eugenie, patron of the arts. Eugénie is an unexpected marriage of textures, with a crunchy biscuit, a melting heart and a crunchy chocolate coating. This Union Station location is only a kiosk, rather than a full patisserie. It opened in Oct 2024. They thought they were only going to be there until Feb 2025, but as of 2025-06-23, they are still there. It is opposite Union Samples. They mostly sell macarons ($4.50 each!) here, but there are also a few bottled drinks, chocolate bars, gift boxes, yule logs, and gift cards. The customer service was good. Louis-Ernest Ladurée was the founder of Ladurée in 1862. There is free WiFi from Union Station. The kiosk is wheelchair accessible. There are washrooms in Union Station. Visited this cute little Filipino bake shop nestled in shops at don mills…read more They sell Filipino sweet treats and baked goods. Pandesal, cake slices, coffee, cookies, cheesecakes, and a small select option of savoury food as well. For baked goods I walked out with: - Ube cheesecake: it was moist, Ube packed flavour with a hint of creaminess from the cheese. Enjoyed it. And read good reviews about it prior to ordering it so that's why I chose it :) - Ube crinkle cookies: a basic Ube crinkle cookie, not too sweet (which is great) and powdered with sugar on the outside. Ube flavour is mild not too overpowering, moist and fluffy cookie. Would recommend as well! - Spicy chicken empanada- buttery crust, soft and falls apart because the crust is so buttery!! Stuffing was generous, chicken flavourful but I didn't find the inside spicy. One is enough for one sitting. I would like to try other flavours as well. Service - friendly. Fast. Efficient. $$- I would say some of the items are quite pricey for what you get e.g. turon for $5, cake + coffee slice for $10-12, I think that I've found other bakeries to be a little more cost friendly. But assuming because this one is more franchised, Perhaps why prices are higher (?) Would overall recommend this place especially if you'd like to share Filipino sweets culture/food. They do sell cakes and party platters of desserts which is also a bonus. Would recommend to try!

We were there on Boxing Day at about 10:15am. There was a limited selection of savoury and meat filled Chinese buns at that hour. Baked Char Sui bao, Cheese, Ham, Sausage buns. The fresh cream bun was added at this time. If you wanted Taro or Custard filled buns or Egg Tarts, there were none on the shelves. There was a posted board outside the bakery offering "buy 6, no tax and receive one egg tart". I bought six buns and received a small HK milk tea, which was fine instead of an egg tart. The buns filling and dough texture was so-so imo, when I compare it to buns available at Markham Chinese bakeries. However, it filled our need while we lined up at another store on the day.

I was there overhearing that they will be having their grand opening soon. You can find your classic buns here like sausage bun, pineapple bun and char siu bun. Buns are fairly priced here as well in my opinion with fried chicken sandwiches being less than $4. They also sell whole cakes and slices of cakes which looks really good. Interior of the bakery is beautiful and newly renovated. It's brightly lit and super clean inside. The one cashier cashing me out was friendly and chatty which I enjoyed. Telling me that VIP cards will be available once grand opening happens, but didn't know the exact date of their grand opening yet. Make sure to check out these affordable and tasty buns!
