I stopped by Flying Biscuit on a Sunday morning for a quick breakfast before a Costco run. The staff were friendly, and the wait was just under 10 minutes. I started off with a Chai Latte ($4.99), which turned out to be too sweet for me. For my entree, I ordered the Flying Biscuit Breakfast ($13.49). The sausage patties were a bit of a letdown. They were very dry, with gravy that was too thick and heavy. However, the biscuits were light, fluffy, and genuinely delicious. The eggs and grits were also well seasoned. I added a single Buttermilk Pancake on the side ($3.99), too. It was impressively large and came with butter and syrup. The flavor was decent, though not particularly memorable. read more

First time having Flying Biscuit fresh and I'm officially a fan -- especially of this location! I've had Flying Biscuit before, but only as leftovers from other locations. This was my first time dining in and let me just say... there's a huge difference when it's hot and fresh. I chose this location specifically after peeking at reviews and health scores from others -- glad I trusted my gut! I walked in completely drained and asked the server what would get me back on my feet. Without hesitation: "The Sledgehammer." Four shots of espresso with steamed half & half for $7. Yeah, the name is no joke -- it hit hard and hit right. We came for the High Flyer $10 special (normally $16.49): Two eggs Choice of sage sausage patties or bacon Creamy dreamy grits Pancake or Belgian waffle And of course, the flying biscuit Honestly, for $10, I was more than satisfied. If I had paid full price, I might have chosen something more adventurous -- but that waffle was wafflin'! Shoutout to our server -- cool, attentive, and knew the menu. The food came out hot, fresh, and fast. The vibe of this location is super artsy too -- even the ceiling tiles from the entrance to the bathroom are hand-painted. That's some next-level dedication. Now about the namesake: the biscuit? Ehh, it was okay. If we're being real, they should consider rebranding to Flying Grits because those grits? Absolute perfection. Already planning to come back for the Shrimp and Grits ($18.49) -- saw someone at the next table with it and nearly asked for a bite. All in all, this location deserves ALL the stars. I love this simple little brunch spot. The service is always friendly and the ambiance is casual diner style with a kitschy, fun flair. My typical go to is the Hollywood Omelette. It comes with moon dusted potatoes and a biscuit with apple butter. It feels like the perfect balance between healthy and a little splurge. That giant biscuit is to die for (obviously, it's their namesake item). I smother it with that delicious apple butter! I've also had The Garden Fresh Veggie Scramble which is yummy too, as well as Chorizo Hash (not pictured). Another great side item is the creamy dreamy grits (also not pictured, sorry)! I've been to the Flying Biscuit before, but never this location. It's located in an outdoor shopping plaza/strip mall with lots of free parking available. I went for breakfast after a doctor's appointment & was not disappointed. I had a "breakfast tower," a warm waffle, with a juicy piece of spicy fried chicken breast, 2 over medium eggs, and sausage gravy, all stacked one on top of the other! I forgot the formal name but it was quite a sight. I separated everything and ate it one bite at a time. Everything was great except for the gravy. A little bland in my opinion. I seriously don't understand why the reviews for this location are so low. We were visiting ATL this weekend and dined in for breakfast Saturday and Sunday. Service- Our server was the sweetest, they were busy both times but she was attentive, kept our coffee full, and promptly checked us out at the end of our visit which was impressive given the high volume. Food- we had the Florida something something special (a combo of eggs your way, grits, biscuit, and half waffle with fresh mixed berries and banana), hash, kids meals with eggs and bacon and waffles. Everything was DELICIOUS. The biscuits are moist bus not greasy, poached eggs/over easy were cooked perfectly. Potatoes were crispy and not over salted. Waffles were fluffy with crispy edges. My first time at Flying Biscuit and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Cute, casual, place. Came in on a weekday around lunch/brunch time and got seated immediately. Service was really good and servers did not have any problem explaining the menu. One of my favorites was definetly the hot honey butter chicken and waffles. The tenders on here were soooo good! They also have mimosa flights with various flavors that are super tasty! They have lunch items like burgers a d different sandwiches, but I think their breakfast tastes better. very average breakfast diner type experience- the chain restaurant. You Come in and get seated relatively quickly. They do have high chairs. The service was slow, even though it wasn't super busy. The waitress was really nice, but overall everything was a little slow. The pancakes were good, I've had better, but they were good pancakes. The biscuits are really good. We really enjoyed that. We got the free kids menu meal with our food, but I do not recommend the French toast, it doesn't taste like French toast and my daughter hated it. She liked the pancakes more and the chicken sausage. We also got the pumpkin flavored pancake which my mother liked. Overall, very average experience. prices are good. Free parking. Everyone there is super nice and the places is pretty clean as well. The menu is extensive, which is really nice as well and they do serve some lunch items. My dad was back in town for a few days and had to take care of a couple of things on this side of town one morning, so we decided to stop for breakfast first. It was a Tuesday, so we were able to find parking right outside, and the restaurant wasn't busy so we were seated right away. Dad ordered the hot chicken and waffle. He said he enjoyed it but the chicken needed a little something, so he probably would have enjoyed the hot honey butter chicken waffle more. I ordered the southern scramble, which has bacon, spicy vegan collard greens, onions, and cheddar cheese. It also comes with a side of the creamy dreamy grits and a biscuit. We also wanted some of the chicken sausage, and I had an offer for a free order of fried green tomatoes. They weren't sure if they would be able to honor it initially, but it worked out. Like I said, the restaurant wasn't busy at the time so it was nice and quiet and we were able to chat. Our food came out fairly quickly and was hot and fresh. The portions were large, so we ended up not being able to finish everything and left with a couple of small to-go boxes. The waitress was attentive and kind throughout our meal. Flying Biscuit is locally owned but a chain restaurant that serves breakfast fares - from biscuit sandwiches to waffles to some healthier options. We arrived on Saturday around 10:30 am and the place was maybe 3/4 full. They have a small receiving area and people were piling in at the same time that we walked in. I was afraid there would be a wait but we were seated right away. We perused the menu and our server asked us for drink orders. We both got coffee and water. After dropping off our drinks, he asked if we were ready and we went ahead and ordered. I was initially going to order something off the menu but made a last minute decision to order their organic oatmeal pancake with peach compote, which supposedly was served limited time only. I had no idea how much this would be as the display didn't show the price but I only opted for one since I didn't want anything too heavy that time. After a 15 min wait, our food arrived. The pancake was actually a good size and glad only ordered one. I was asked if I wanted syrup with my pancake but decided not to get it since it was served with a peach compote. The oatmeal was nice and thick and warm. The compote was okay, it just seemed like they opened a can of sliced peaches and transferred it to a bowl and called it "compote". I love that almost all the locations hold up the standard, and this one which is closest to me was fantastic. My server was training someone but was very attentive. My food took a while; I think they made a new batch of grits bc I've never had them come out so so hot, but it made the wait worthwhile. I've never had the stuffed French toast before and it was delicious! Of course the grits were dreamy and the biscuit with the cran-apple jam is heavenly. The espresso got the job done, but I've had better espressos before, I'd give it a 7/10. The pumpkin spice latte was really good. A little sweet, but that's what you have to expect. Decided to go with the pancake tacos, came with two buttermilk pancakes and 4 scrambled eggs, choice of protein. We got the chicken sausage. Usually when we order pancakes we get eggs on the side with protein. The taco presentation was interesting but it worked. Pancakes were very fluffy, the eggs were good, had cheese with them, and the chicken sausage was really good, couldn't tell that they were chicken. We came here for breakfast today, and everything was good. Flying Biscuit Cafe is in Town Brookhaven. At the time we arrived, there were a lot of available diagonal parking spaces in the street in front of this restaurant. We were immediately greeted by the hostess as soon as we walked through the front doors, and she picked up a couple of menus and led us to a booth. One thing that came to my mind was that the the walls and ceiling are colorful, in a cartoonish way, not at all how I was expecting this restaurant's decor to be. Boring, it's not. Our server came by soon after we were seated and took our drink orders (water for me, vanilla latte for R). She brought those quickly, and then left as quickly without saying anything, even though I tried to tell her that we were ready to order. After a few minutes, our server came back and took our orders: for me, The Big Cheesy Patty Melt (two 1/4 lb beef patties, homemade queso, crispy all natural nitrate-free applewood pork bacon, pickle chips, and grilled onions on grilled challah. Instead of getting kettle chips that come with this sandwich, I ordered fresh fruit. R ordered Egg-stravaganza, two eggs (R ordered them over easy), one signature chicken sage sausage patty, two strips of crispy nitrate-free applewood pork bacon, creamy dreamy grits, and thick sliced French toast with raspberry sauce and honey creme anglaise, and a fluffy flying biscuit. As we waited for our food, which wasn't that long, customers kept coming in to dine, and almost all of the tables, both inside (which has a lot of tables) and outside (a few tables), were taken. I'm glad we beat the breakfast rush! We were served our food, and it wasn't quite like how we ordered. My Big Cheesy Patty melt was served with a regular sesame seed hamburger bun instead of challah, and it certainly lacked cheese, with its barely there queso. However, my meal tasted very good. They should just call this a hamburger, add some lettuce and tomato and call it done. R's meal also wasn't exactly how he ordered it. He was served his eggs scrambled instead of over easy, was given two sausage patties instead of one, and wasn't given any bacon. He got everything else correctly. His meal was also very good, and it was a lot of food - so much that he asked if I wanted some of his meal. Who am I to turn down an offer of food? I got a sausage patty, a slice of his French toast and some strawberries. The sausage patty had great flavor and the French toast was very good, especially with some honey creme anglaise drizzled on top of it. We didn't complain about the food being incorrectly made because we didn't want to wait for replacements, although it was annoying that didn't get everything the way we ordered. We looked at the receipt before I paid, and the receipt reflected how everything came to us, so it was obviously the server's mistakes. Our server was a nice person, but wasn't the most attentive. I would say her server skills were average. I would come back here again, for the food, but I wouldn't order the patty melt again only because I enjoy a more traditional patty melt. It may be interesting to order some food here in the future and see what I actually end up with. read more

Food-- A disappointment for sure! Not worth the hype or the drive. Any Waffle House would've been better than this. Coffee was super bitter. No amount of sugar or cream would've covered up the taste to save it. Ended up just ordering sweet tea instead. Thankfully, that was ok. They had "Fresh OJ" on the menu, but it was clearly straight out of a carton. If it's not fresh squeezed, please don't sell it as "Fresh OJ!" I ordered the standard bacon & eggs. My order of over-easy eggs came hard fried. The "Moon Dusted" potatoes were roasted potatoes with no flavor. The biscuit was good, just not "Wow!" The grits were definitely creamy. The French Toast was made of wheat bread. It didn't say that it was wheat bread on the menu. So, not at all what was expected. Overall, it was just Meh. It was an overall very underwhelming experience. I definitely will not be going back there. I would not recommend this restaurant or this location.
