It's been a while since my last visit. Is there now an issue with those who have hearing sensitivities? Stopped by for an early brunch with my mom and was (at first) greeted by a friendly hostess. The place was 99% empty at the time. We had a booth, which was great. What wasn't great was the super loud music emanating from the speaker overhead. People go to restaurants to EAT and fellowship, not to have front row seats at a Celine Dion concert! Our server graciously took the sound down a couple of notches, but I still had trouble hearing my mother and had to ask my mom to repeat herself. When the friendly hostess passed back by, I explained that I had limited hearing and was having trouble hearing my mom because the music was elevated. She begrudgingly obliged, and when she whizzed by again, I offered sincere gratitude but I received a full on grunt from her in return. Definitely making it clear to me that she took PERSONAL issue with the request. Certainly, the hostess is not getting paid to listen to music, something she can do on break, in her car, or at home. Surely, she is getting paid to show hospitality to those of us contributing to her weekly pay. It wasn't like we were going to be there until the cows came home. Just a 2-hour peaceful meal, after which, Scrooge was welcome to jack the music back up to night club status! That being said, the food is high quality and our server was excellent. Warm, pleasant demeanor and tended to us nicely... the kind of genuine qualities that you'd expect from ALL front of the house staff. Went in to get coffee and a light breakfast while I was between appointments. Waited by the host station for quite awhile. No one ever came. I could see a server was taking care of a table on one side, customers were on the other side having been served. They have a waiting list but you don't necessarily have to put yourself on because a lot of times it won't be fully here I was there on a weekend morning, and had no issue. They checking us for times to make sure that everything was good at the table. It's a very open area. There is no outdoor fee, but there's plenty of things. It's on the corner of the strip mall so they have the whole corner for the most part so you can basically never really have to wait I assume. Unless if that crime after church brunch time lol. I wanted to get the pancakes. Regular, nothing special about them just good old fashioned with no extra bells and whistles. Just straight buttermilk and they were actually good. I also went with the brunch special, the Mardi gras on. Shrimp crawfish and sausage, it was super solid! It comes with potatoes, and I got a side of fruits as well cuz why not lol. It's been awhile since I have eaten at Another Broken Egg Cafe in the Dunwoody area in Atlanta, GA but let me tell you, coming back to revisit this gem is always a good choice! The food is still amazingly delicious and the customer service is still impeccable. I dined with a friend of mine for a girls brunch and everything we ordered was amazing. I ordered the "Hey Lucy Omelette". The dish came with Chorizo, onions and green chilies omelette, topped with Cheddar Jack cheese and avocado. Sides of salsa and sour cream. The meal also comes with an English muffin and country potatoes. I couldn't help myself but I had to order some grits to accompany my meal and their city grits are so delicious. The city grits come with cheese and topped with baked bacon, green onions and tomatoes and let me tell you, you will be very sad after the last bite is gone. Another Broken Egg was really doing something when they came up with the concept of the ingredients in their city grits because I couldn't stop raving about them. I give this meal a 10/10. I left feeling satisfied and still wanting more city grits. smh. lol This location is one of my favorite location to come to. They have a waitlist so that helps when you're planning a visit. The restaurant was clean, inviting and is always great for a simple breakfast that ends up being a great choice and time well spent. Stopped here before dropping my boyfriend off at the airport and wanted to have a unique breakfast. We both tried the lobster hash Benedict which was filled with ingredients. My boyfriend ordered his with scrambled eggs and I chose to keep my eggs poached. Unfortunately when my order came out as you can see in the photos my eggs were not poached correctly. I don't know if the order was sitting or if the eggs were over cooked but yoke was stiff. The rest of the meal was good as it was topped with a lobster mix, eggs, fried onions and a hollandaise sauce on a hash brown. On the side I got the delicious city grits and my boyfriend got potatoes. Both were really good and satisfying. The restaurant was more spacious than the other location in Smyrna I visited before. I did notice on walking in that their health score was in the 70's which was concerning. However, continued anyways after waiting. The menu has plenty of vegetarian items from savory to sweet! I tried the lemon blueberry goat cheese pancakes. They were good- for some reason I was thinking the pancakes would be flavored vs just having goat cheese/ blueberries on top. This is one of the original franchises. It's been at this location for over 10 years. You can kinda see the age. But the place still looks clean. Another Broken Egg is more of a Southern styled breakfast/brunch place. They started in Louisiana so they have some Louisiana themed stuff such as Jambalaya and "Mardi Gras Omelet." The other breakfast/brunch places in the area are more trendy and hip. But it's good to have a more traditional breakfast place too. The food is okay. I mean it's a breakfast place. I'm not a huge fan of breakfast food. The pancakes and french toasts are basically sugar bombs filled with sugar, syrup, and other junk. It's not the healthiest thing, but if you like those, they give you generous portions of it. I ordered eggs over medium, and they came out over easy. But 99% of the places can't make eggs over medium so it's okay. The service was good. They don't have tap to pay option like the cool kids are doing these days. So you have to take your card out to pay. Other than that, the service was fine. If you want a traditional, Southern breakfast, this is a decent place to go in the area. read more

So many options on the menu and I'm glad they gave recommendations for what drinks to pair with the seasonal dishes. One friend and I shared the Strawberry St. Germaine Mimosa Pitcher while the other got the Cranberry Cocktail Mimosa. Taking advantage of the seasonal options I got the Steelhead Trout and Grits and it was phenomenal. They had an in house Pepper Sauce and it paired nicely with the fish and eggs. My friends had the Smoked Salmon Benedict and Bacquezo Omelette respectively. We tried each others dishes and both were really nice. Lots of great options here. We also shared two stacks of the pancakes. The Lemon Blueberry Goat Cheese Pancakes!!!! Wow. The sharpness of the goat cheese balanced the sweetness of the blueberry and pancakes. We didn't even put syrup on it. The Bourbon Pancakes? Amazing! Bananas and Pecans already go well together and the bourbon adds another dimension to it. This is the worst another broken egg I've ever been to. We were told 30 minute wait time and was skipped multiple times. Finally one person from my party asked why wait time extended and was basically told that we had too many people (5 of us). They sat us at 2 different tables away from each other. It's extremely cold temperatures outside and the restaurant is freezing as well. Apparently their heater is broken. Food was slow to arrive to table and wasn't tasty as I expected. The hollandaise sauce also lacked flavor, though I am thinking it's became they normally put bacon in it. I don't eat pork so I got it without it. The salt and smoke of the bacon probably liven it up. The salmon Benedict was good. My dining companion really enjoyed it. The mimosas were a bit on the sweet side. You can use Yelp to add yourself to the wait list and this essentially puts you on the guest list, but the wait time may vary. Our wait time was about 49 minutes, but we were able to place our name in from the hotel nearby. We checked in by the time listed on the wait list page and were seated within 3 minutes of the hostess checking us in in person. If we return, I'd place my name on the list early like maybe an hour before I want to arrive, because this will ensure that you're not waiting super long! There were over 20 people ahead of us. Once seated, our waitress came by to take our drink orders. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. My friends ordered the blueberry lemon mimosas. I skipped the mimosas and ordered the Belgium waffle with andouille sausage, scrambled eggs with cheese, country potatoes and city grits. I LOVED the city grits and the waffle was soo fluffy. The andouille sausage was a little salty and the country potatoes and eggs needed salt. I would come back again for those grits! My wife and I have been coming to this place for breakfast since 2011, haven't been for a little while since moving from the area so decided to eat here whilst in the neighborhood. It was 17 degrees outside this morning, arrive at about 8:45, as my wife walked off trying to find a hostess because there was nobody there to greet us, a young woman hastily stormed in, threw her coat off, turned around and looked at us and didn't say anything, no hello, nothing, my wife had to tell her we wanted to eat, she takes us to the coldest part of the diner, away from where everyone was sitting, it was freezing where she tried to seat us, still, not a word, just puts the menus on the table and walks off.
