Spicy crab & cucumber salad.. big portion for $12
    Jennifer A.

Where to start.. I ordered the spicy crabby & cucumber salad & it was not only a huge portions but it was the best I've ever had! Seriously, if you follow me, you know that is a compliment! My drink was a dirty martini & it was a heavy pour & a decent drink. Again, not the best but very good. For the entree I wanted to order the sushi pizza.. yea you heard it right, I wouldn't have even considered it but by neighboring table got it & it looked FANTASTIC. However, I was away from home & did not want leftovers so I ordered the special sushi roll Crimson Tide & added Jalapeños. The Jalapeños were fresh & crispy, but did not lend any additional heat. I am a sushi snob, so it was not the best I've ever had, but it was decent. For most it would be good. The menu changes regularly, which was a little disappointing. It was different online, vs on Yelp vs in person & the prices were about $10 more than listed online, but overall, it wasn't a bad experience. I would recommend checking them out, just know it won't be cheap. I originally wanted the seared Tuna, but when I got here, it was halibut & it was $36 vs $22. I will include pics of the menu, but like I said, it's subject to change. OK, take this with a grain of salt. I would probably have made it a 4 vs 3 so I'm on the fence. Regan, my server explained that the additional $6 added to my $12 martini was not because it was a dirty martini, but because it was up vs on the rocks, so it was a bigger pour. It makes sense, but I have never seen this before.. make your own decisions.

We were staying in Hyannis for a couple of days and drove over to this restaurant for dinner on Friday. It is in a beautiful location next to the marina. The restaurant has plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for one of the outdoor tables within the plastic enclosure. It was perfect and had a nice view of the boats. The menu is extensive with plenty of appetizers, salads, handhelds, entrees, and sushi options. I started with a cup of the clam chowder soup and it was very hot and tasty. For my entree I had the pan seared haddock. It came with lobster ravioli, oyster mushrooms, and green beans with a lobster bisque sauce. It was a beautiful and tasty dish. My husband had the fried fisherman's platter. It had Cod, shrimp, scallops, and clams, as well as french fries and coleslaw. It was a very generous and delicious dish. Service was pretty quick.

We had a late lunch here that encompassed impeccable service and delicious food. I had a fish sandwich that had cheddar, avocado, lettuce & tomato with perfectly crisped fries, my husband the fish & chips. Adult kiddos, burgers, and another fish sandwich all great. We shared a massive plate of perfect onion rings to start. I had a raspberry limoncello spritzer that was refreshing. We were too full for dessert. Unfortunately we were not seated on the deck but that would be the preferred seating for sure. Our waiter was on his second day but he was excellent.

5/5. Dockside fish sandwich no bacon. Excellent.

The fish sandwich was incredible here!. I would come back for that only! The Dockside sandwich or something. The service was good but took too long to come. The ambiance is the killer here! Love the scene of the boats, the water, the sky, yes you actually you see the whole sky and you smell the Atlantic. Would come back for sure.

I stopped in here after the cape cod half marathon and thought it would be packed but it was one of the only restaurants in town that wasn't and I don't know why! The view of the marina it was next to was gorgeous, we sat out on the patio and enjoyed the ocean. The service was great very quick and good at catering to our party's seafood allergy. We got onion rings as an appetizer and the portion was HUGE our table of 7 had a hard time finishing it and they were good, heavily battered in a good way and nice and crunchy without the breading flaking off. I also got the kitchen sink sushi roll and it was jam packed with flavors and toppings. I really liked the roe and charred salmon ontop it was full of texture and you definitely got your fill on every fish option available on the cape. Would probably be my go to order when I go again-but definitely not the light meal sushi normally is!

This place has a great view of the marina and with it being so large you're almost always guaranteed a prime spot! We went on a Saturday afternoon and were seated on one of the decks immediately. We ordered clam chowder, bang bang shrimp, hot lobster roll, BLT, grilled salmon, and Mariner salad. Everything was really tasty and well portioned, the bacon in the BLT was just a bit tough.

Nice place to by the water to stop by for some fresh seafood. They have an indoor and outdoor seating with a bar in each area. We started off with the calamari which was nicely fried and tasted like fresh unfrozen calamari. Then we had the seafood platter. The scallops were juicy and sweets. The cod was a nice thick piece. Clams were fresh and well fried. The French fries were also really crispy. Service was quick. Overall a nice place for some fried seafood.

Shrimp cocktail was so fresh and tastey!

We got both fresh offerings of oysters to start.- so good. For beverages, I had a Maine IPA & Kate had a pear pressure. We really enjoyed them both. Kate got the Seafood Pot Pie. The good news is we try each others meals. An absolute home run! The scrod, lobster, scallops and shrimp were perfect. Add in Newburg sauce asparagus and spinach, top it with a puff pastry to soak up the sauce-10 out of 10. There is a reason it's a house favorite. I had the baked seafood trio. Shrimp, scrod and scallops, with baked potato and asparagus. 2 u-15 shrimp, 3oz of fresh Chatham scrod and 3 local scallops, done in a lemon beurre blac. A small portion of each but delicious. The baked potato was just like you would hope. Asparagus was underdone, by our tastes, but not knocking the rating over that. Overall 8/10. Will try the blackened mahi mahi next visit. Kate's not budging from the seafood pot pie Our server Taryn was nice and busy. They have runners who are all over the place. Owner? out picking up plates and checking every time to make sure we were happy. Nearly half of my life was spent in the front of the house-that's how I treated every person I encountered in my establishments. This place was crazy busy. Every server, food runner, host etc had a genuine smile. Customers were happy, among them, many locals. Our take; if you are here for a few days or a while, make it a point to enjoy a meal here. Pretty confident you'll be happy you did.

In my experience one can tell a lot from a restaurant's name. With cliche names like "Quarterdeck," "Fisherman's Catch," etc. it's almost guaranteed to be average at best. I don't know why but it's usually true. I got a clam roll which turned out to be a mistake. I got it because I wanted a smaller portion than the platter. But the clams were oversized for a roll and too few in number so it was hard to eat. Good for a platter but for a roll, smaller clams and more of them would be better. But the clams though were fresh, cooked correctly, and the batter was decent, not outstanding. The roll was toasted and buttered, and a small lettuce leaf completed the sandwich. My biggest complaint was the tartar sauce, homemade, which was a disaster. Tasted of little more than plain mayonnaise. Unfortunately the fries were almost room temperature. I wasn't going to say anything but when the waitress came by and asked I told her. She apologized, took them away, and returned with a new platter of fries, a very large portion, and scaldingly hot. I was no longer so hungry but ate a good fraction of them, as leaving them after she brought a replacement just seemed rude. They weren't very good though; greasy and the oil didn't taste fresh. To drink I had a "mocktail" version of a Moscow Mule. It was way too sweet. Without the bite of alcohol it needed something else to tone down the sweetness. It wasn't cheap either. I should have just had a plain ginger ale. I would recommend trying someplace else instead. Lots of choices in the area.

You could feel the energy as soon as you walked in. The bartenders were definitely in the weeds most of the night, but you'd never know it from their attitude -- still friendly, still smiling, and somehow making me feel like I'd been coming there for years (first visit, by the way). Grabbed a veggie pizza (solid choice), a cold beer, and settled in for a couple of hours of great local music and that perfect "this is exactly where I'm supposed to be tonight" vibe. If this is what a random Saturday looks like here, I'll be back.

Review: Jack's Restaurant and Bar - A Tale of Two Temperatures…read moreIf you're looking for a spot in Falmouth where the vibes are high but the Celsius is... conservative, Jack's Restaurant and Bar is your destination. I went in with high hopes and a healthy appetite. Here's the breakdown of our culinary "Goldilocks" experience--except nothing was actually hot. The Order The Boneless Ribeye: This steak was seasoned to perfection and tender enough to make a grown man cry. It had the soul of a five-star meal, but the temperature of a brisk October morning on Old Silver Beach. I'm convinced the chef cooked it beautifully and then gave it a pep talk in a room-temperature hallway for ten minutes before sending it out. The Scallops: My companion's scallops were seared wonderfully. They looked like little pillows of heaven. Unfortunately, they were also roughly the same temperature as actual pillows. Delicious? Yes. Did they require a scarf? Possibly. The "Lukewarm" Mystery It's honestly an impressive feat of physics. To have a crust that crisp on a ribeye and a sear that golden on a scallop, yet have both arrive with the thermal energy of a glass of tap water, defies the laws of thermodynamics. Pro Tip: If you're the type of person who always burns their tongue on the first bite, Jack's is your safe haven. You can dive in with the reckless abandon of a seagull hitting a discarded fry. The Verdict The food at Jack's is legitimately tasty. The flavors are 10/10, the bar scene is lively, and the service is friendly. We didn't even send it back because, frankly, we were too busy enjoying the flavor to care about the lack of steam. It's the only place I've been where the "warm" welcome applies to the steak, too. Final Score: (Four stars--would have been five, but I had to check my ribeye for a pulse to see if it was hibernating.)
