We had dinner at the Quarterdeck after an afternoon at the beach. When we arrived there was a 30min wait, but they have a bar downstairs, so we went downstairs. We sat at the bar and our bartender was fantastic! She was very attentive and informative. Answered all our questions and had great recommendations. We started with oysters on the half shell from Wellfleet. They were incredible. For dinner, my date had tuna tartar and I had a rueben sandwich. Everything was fresh and prepared to perfection. My Rueben was probably the best one I have had in the past 60+ years. Dessert consisted of warm blueberry pie with whip cream and vanilla ice cream. All in all we would definitely go back. read more

My family and I stopped by the Quarterdeck for lunch during our recent visit to Cape Cod. As soon as we walked in, we noticed that most of the customers were older and appeared to be locals. Since it was a Monday, only a handful of tables were occupied, giving the restaurant a quiet, laid-back atmosphere. The servers were attentive and efficient, with just a hint of old-school bluntness--the kind of personality you'd expect from a classic New England seafood joint. It actually fit the vibe of the place. My wife and I shared the seafood platter, and the portion was enormous. It was more than enough for both of us, and it's hard to go wrong with a platter of fried seafood. One of my sons ordered the wings, while the other had the loaded hot dog. Everything was good, but nothing really stood out as memorable. The restaurant has the charm of an old-school seafood shack, which I appreciated, and the service was solid throughout our meal. A delicious first dinner in Falmouth! The watermelon caprese was fresh and tasty. The pesto was outstanding!! My wife got salmon, and the salmon and couscous were cooked to perfection. My wife and I are very experienced diners, and after 76 years, we know a truly exceptional meal when we have one. We went to The Quarter Deck for lunch at 2:00 PM, and from the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely perfect. It began with Julia, the hostess, who was absolutely fantastic--warm, pleasant, attentive, and clearly someone who wears many hats. We were seated in front of a beautiful stained-glass depiction of a harbor, which made the setting even more special. Both our server and Julia highly recommended the seafood pot pie, and they were absolutely right. It was beyond delicious and generous enough for two people. However, since my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary, we decided to indulge and also ordered the big stuffed lobster. The baked stuffed lobster was cooked to perfection. In fact, it brought back wonderful memories of a restaurant we loved in Florida, Burt & Jack's in Fort Lauderdale, associated with Burt Reynolds, where we once had what we considered the ultimate baked stuffed lobster. Sadly, that restaurant has long since disappeared. The Quarter Deck has now created a worthy successor to that memory. Their baked stuffed lobster was truly exceptional--the kind of dish you remember long after the meal is over. If you are anywhere near Falmouth, do not miss The Quarter Deck. Standard New England seafood and pub fare here, with the standard decor expected of a Cape Cod seafood restaurant: dark wood beams, nautical themes (lobster shells and horseshoe crabs on the walls, fish nets, etc.) Some Santas and elves too because Christmas was coming. In my experience one can tell a lot from a restaurant's name. With cliche names like "Quarterdeck," "Fisherman's Catch," etc. it's almost guaranteed to be average at best. I don't know why but it's usually true. I got a clam roll which turned out to be a mistake. I got it because I wanted a smaller portion than the platter. But the clams were oversized for a roll and too few in number so it was hard to eat. Good for a platter but for a roll, smaller clams and more of them would be better. But the clams though were fresh, cooked correctly, and the batter was decent, not outstanding. The roll was toasted and buttered, and a small lettuce leaf completed the sandwich. My biggest complaint was the tartar sauce, homemade, which was a disaster. Tasted of little more than plain mayonnaise. Unfortunately the fries were almost room temperature. I wasn't going to say anything but when the waitress came by and asked I told her. She apologized, took them away, and returned with a new platter of fries, a very large portion, and scaldingly hot. I was no longer so hungry but ate a good fraction of them, as leaving them after she brought a replacement just seemed rude. They weren't very good though; greasy and the oil didn't taste fresh. To drink I had a "mocktail" version of a Moscow Mule. It was way too sweet. Without the bite of alcohol it needed something else to tone down the sweetness. It wasn't cheap either. I should have just had a plain ginger ale. I would recommend trying someplace else instead. Lots of choices in the area. read more

We went here for photos on beach and wanted to grab dinner beforehand. There were 12 of us and we got seated very quickly. Service was great the waitress; Molly and bartender; Joe could not have been better. The pan seared scallops appetizer was phenomenal definitely order that. Everything was really good. We had a lovely experience here last weekend! We walked in, and were seated at a table by the window. The table itself is made from what looks like an old stained glass window. We were excited to have a table by the window to be able to watch the Halloween festivities. Our server was wonderful, greeted us right away and gave us menus. I started with a cinnamon sugar rimmed shipyard, and we ordered the steamers as a starter. I've never seen steamers on a menu (we normally buy them and make them at home) - so this was a nice treat. They were plentiful, and come with plenty of butter. For lunch, we both had the seafood pot pie - it was really good. It came with lobster, shrimp, scallops, haddock, asparagus, spinach, in a beautiful lobster sherry sauce, with puff pastry. The main area was busy and loud so we were offered seating downstairs which was quiet and delightful. Our waitress was lovely. We tried the specialty drinks. My wife enjoyed the watermelon drink and I loved the ginger smash with bourbon. We tried the watermelon Caprese salad and it was surprisingly good. They used watermelon in place of tomatoes and the pesto pulled it all together. My wife had the clam roll which was overflowing with clams. She's particularly about her clams and they were okay but not as good as other places on the Cape. I had the baked stuffed lobster. The waitress told me that it was stuffed with the claw and knuckle meat and breadcrumbs but it was actually stuffed with much more lobster. I would highly recommend this. If I could give them 10 stars, I would! The staff was so patient and accommodating to my toddler who had just woken up from a nap and a little cranky and our double stroller for our newborn twins. They provided us with a corner booth to give us the most room possible and offered to stow away our stroller safely. The service was prompt and exceptional. We have been coming to the Quarterdeck for years, service is always fantastic and overall the food is excellent. One of my favorites has always been the lobster roll. It is not inexpensive, but has always been full of chunks of sweet tail meat and very little claw, definitely worth the money. Last night though... for $50 I had a lobster roll filled with claw meat, not one chunk of tail. Although not owned by the same company, one brother owns Quarterdeck and one owns Chart Room, which has always been known for its amazing lobster roll and for years Quarterdeck matched it. We ordered starters like the waitperson asked and then they brought everything all at once *except* the starters. The oysters came out and she never told us which oysters were which. The Quarterdeck is my favorite restaurant in Falmouth. The food is terrific. I have been going there for years. Recently I had to have oral surgery. I am not comfortable eating in public. Today was my birthday. My husband and I always go to Quarterdeck for my birthday. This year we had to order takeout. Once again our Quarterdeck meal was incredible. The serving portions are very good, the flavors of the food were excellent. We had a salmon special, the swordfish special, shrimp cocktail, chowder, salads and rolls. It was a feast! Looked at many choices for our first night in Falmouth. This was a great choice! We didn't know it, but it was their first night re-opening too. We got both fresh offerings of oysters to start.- so good. For beverages, I had a Maine IPA & Kate had a pear pressure. We really enjoyed them both. Kate got the Seafood Pot Pie. The good news is we try each others meals. An absolute home run! The scrod, lobster, scallops and shrimp were perfect. Add in Newburg sauce asparagus and spinach, top it with a puff pastry to soak up the sauce-10 out of 10. There is a reason it's a house favorite. I had the baked seafood trio. Shrimp, scrod and scallops, with baked potato and asparagus. 2 u-15 shrimp, 3oz of fresh Chatham scrod and 3 local scallops, done in a lemon beurre blac. A small portion of each but delicious. The baked potato was just like you would hope. Asparagus was underdone, by our tastes, but not knocking the rating over that. Overall 8/10. Will try the blackened mahi mahi next visit. Kate's not budging from the seafood pot pie Our server Taryn was nice and busy. They have runners who are all over the place. Owner? out picking up plates and checking every time to make sure we were happy. As a Falmouth resident the Quarter Deck is a regular stop for its consistent quality, reasonable prices and adequate beer selection. Last night, 6/5/26, my excellent Cape Cod Ruben came with a a side of their house chips that were clearly a mix of stale chips mixed with a slightly less stale batch. NOTE to the kitchen: What is stale? Stale is when you can bend a chip at a 90 degree angle and it doesn't snap, slightly stale is still flexible, chips should not be flexible! 4 of us arrived around 12:30 on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon. It was half full and we were delighted to get a table by the window. 5 stars all around! SERVICE: Jess took great care of us throughout our entire meal. She has a wonderful disposition and was very familiar with the menu items. She really was a joy. FOOD: The roast beef dip sandwich special was excellent. The beef was shaved and a tender cut. The onions were caramelized and sweet and the cheese was flavorful. The Broiled Chatham Schrod was fresh, flaky and had a delicate crust. BAR: KJ wine was an average pour, $11, reasonably priced. Many other options, including a special cocktail list. ATMOSPHERE: The nautical themed inside is warm and inviting. Our table was a cathedral window shaped stain glass, surrounded with polished wood and topped with a layer of glass. It made for a really neat dining experience. There is no designated parking lot. We were fortunate and scored a parking spot on the street. I'd recommend allowing yourself a little extra time to locate a spot to park, especially when the weather is nice. They have a VIP program, part of the Popmenu service, which many other restaurants use. There is no cost to join. The Quarterdeck site indicates there may be specials or promotions made available to VIP members. I'll update if I receive anything in the way of discounts or coupons. read more

The scrod and scallops weren't cooked and were not edible. Mary was busy, and we understand but she had offered to tell her manager. The manager did not come to the table once. Stopped by The Quarterdeck Restaurant on a rainy day for some seafood. Inside of the restaurant was nice and cozy - just what we were hoping for! Here is what we ordered and how I would rate: - Lobster salad (5/10) - Clam chowder (7/10) - Fried scallops w/ fries (8.5/10) Overall, we had some delicious food but I did not enjoy the lobster salad which was a bummer. Furthermore, our waitress was so rude. We were visiting from out of town and when my friend asked if the fried fish would come with tartar sauce she paused, starred at us and was like "umm... of course it does".
