Looked at many choices for our first night in Falmouth. This was a great choice! We didn't know it, but it was their first night re-opening too. We got both fresh offerings of oysters to start.- so good. For beverages, I had a Maine IPA & Kate had a pear pressure. We really enjoyed them both. Kate got the Seafood Pot Pie. The good news is we try each others meals. An absolute home run! The scrod, lobster, scallops and shrimp were perfect. Add in Newburg sauce asparagus and spinach, top it with a puff pastry to soak up the sauce-10 out of 10. There is a reason it's a house favorite. I had the baked seafood trio. Shrimp, scrod and scallops, with baked potato and asparagus. 2 u-15 shrimp, 3oz of fresh Chatham scrod and 3 local scallops, done in a lemon beurre blac. A small portion of each but delicious. The baked potato was just like you would hope. Asparagus was underdone, by our tastes, but not knocking the rating over that. Overall 8/10. Will try the blackened mahi mahi next visit. Kate's not budging from the seafood pot pie Our server Taryn was nice and busy. They have runners who are all over the place. Owner? out picking up plates and checking every time to make sure we were happy. Nearly half of my life was spent in the front of the house-that's how I treated every person I encountered in my establishments. This place was crazy busy. Every server, food runner, host etc had a genuine smile. Customers were happy, among them, many locals. Our take; if you are here for a few days or a while, make it a point to enjoy a meal here. Standard New England seafood and pub fare here, with the standard decor expected of a Cape Cod seafood restaurant: dark wood beams, nautical themes (lobster shells and horseshoe crabs on the walls, fish nets, etc.) Some Santas and elves too because Christmas was coming. In my experience one can tell a lot from a restaurant's name. With cliche names like "Quarterdeck," "Fisherman's Catch," etc. it's almost guaranteed to be average at best. I don't know why but it's usually true. I got a clam roll which turned out to be a mistake. I got it because I wanted a smaller portion than the platter. But the clams were oversized for a roll and too few in number so it was hard to eat. Good for a platter but for a roll, smaller clams and more of them would be better. But the clams though were fresh, cooked correctly, and the batter was decent, not outstanding. The roll was toasted and buttered, and a small lettuce leaf completed the sandwich. My biggest complaint was the tartar sauce, homemade, which was a disaster. Tasted of little more than plain mayonnaise. Unfortunately the fries were almost room temperature. I wasn't going to say anything but when the waitress came by and asked I told her. She apologized, took them away, and returned with a new platter of fries, a very large portion, and scaldingly hot. I was no longer so hungry but ate a good fraction of them, as leaving them after she brought a replacement just seemed rude. They weren't very good though; greasy and the oil didn't taste fresh. To drink I had a "mocktail" version of a Moscow Mule. It was way too sweet. Without the bite of alcohol it needed something else to tone down the sweetness. It wasn't cheap either. I should have just had a plain ginger ale. I would recommend trying someplace else instead. Lots of choices in the area. read more

10/10 recommend. Kicked off our New England road trip in Falmouth and wanted seafood immediately. Searched Yelp and found this place and did not disappoint! Cute little place with window seating (in the front room) to watch passersby. I got a round of oysters, yummy! Then shared clam chowder, dang...so good. Can't be in this area without clam chowder. BUT the star of the show was the seafood pot pie. We split it and whew...so full from half a serving. Plenty of food. It had lobster, scallops, shrimp, haddock and asparagus in a creamy (bisque type) sauce. When I say full off half...it's definitely shareable and delicious. Highly recommend! read more

As soon as they learned were from out of town the service seemed to tank. For example we ordered sparkling water and the second bottle was flat water. We ordered starters like the waitperson asked and then they brought everything all at once *except* the starters. The oysters came out and she never told us which oysters were which. We had to ask for the salad twice and the stuffed quahog from a manager type person. While she was a lovely person the dining experience was silly bad. read more

The Quarterdeck is my favorite restaurant in Falmouth. The food is terrific. I have been going there for years. Recently I had to have oral surgery. I am not comfortable eating in public. Today was my birthday. My husband and I always go to Quarterdeck for my birthday. This year we had to order takeout. Once again our Quarterdeck meal was incredible. The serving portions are very good, the flavors of the food were excellent. We had a salmon special, the swordfish special, shrimp cocktail, chowder, salads and rolls. It was a feast! I love the Quarterdeck. Hands down the best restaurant in Falmouth. I'm so happy that the renovation is over and that they are open again! read more

The bar tender was friendly and fun. The clam chowder was good and the portion size was good for price.

We had a lovely experience here last weekend! We walked in, and were seated at a table by the window. The table itself is made from what looks like an old stained glass window. We were excited to have a table by the window to be able to watch the Halloween festivities. Our server was wonderful, greeted us right away and gave us menus. I started with a cinnamon sugar rimmed shipyard, and we ordered the steamers as a starter. I've never seen steamers on a menu (we normally buy them and make them at home) - so this was a nice treat. They were plentiful, and come with plenty of butter. For lunch, we both had the seafood pot pie - it was really good. It came with lobster, shrimp, scallops, haddock, asparagus, spinach, in a beautiful lobster sherry sauce, with puff pastry. It was really good - the only slight miss was the puff pastry (it didn't taste super fresh). We will absolutely be back to try more of the menu! read more

We came by two times yesterday it was amazing. The staff was fun at the bar but also server at the table was nice. Everyone in my group had a great time. We tried a few Irish beers. We tried the Reuben and it was perfect. Their fat sweet potatoes fries was good. Wished it was a bit crustier but still great. Their clam chowder was to die for. In fact someone in my group said definitely in their top 3 of best ever. We also tried the Boston cream pie and it was great. We left nothing behind. We will be back for sure. read more

The bar, bartender, and vibe were great. The only good thing about this spot. The food coming out of the kitchen was really bad. -Buffalo wings were lame 6 wings for $15 rip off, and they had no flavor just tasted salty. -Calamari appetizer was dry and tough from sitting around for too long served with a gross sweet sauce. -Shrimp scampi was bland/flavorlless This place has a kitchen that obviously doesn't care. 4 of us arrived around 12:30 on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon. It was half full and we were delighted to get a table by the window. 5 stars all around! SERVICE: Jess took great care of us throughout our entire meal. She has a wonderful disposition and was very familiar with the menu items. She really was a joy. FOOD: The roast beef dip sandwich special was excellent. The beef was shaved and a tender cut. The onions were caramelized and sweet and the cheese was flavorful. The Broiled Chatham Schrod was fresh, flaky and had a delicate crust. BAR: KJ wine was an average pour, $11, reasonably priced. Many other options, including a special cocktail list. ATMOSPHERE: The nautical themed inside is warm and inviting. Our table was a cathedral window shaped stain glass, surrounded with polished wood and topped with a layer of glass. It made for a really neat dining experience. There is no designated parking lot. We were fortunate and scored a parking spot on the street. I'd recommend allowing yourself a little extra time to locate a spot to park, especially when the weather is nice. They have a VIP program, part of the Popmenu service, which many other restaurants use. There is no cost to join. The Quarterdeck site indicates there may be specials or promotions made available to VIP members. I'll update if I receive anything in the way of discounts or coupons. read more

I would have given the server 5 stars. Mary was so kind and understanding. Our chowder was great. We ordered fish and chips, fried shrimp and chips, scallops and baked schrod among other things. The scrod and scallops weren't cooked and were not edible. Mary was busy, and we understand but she had offered to tell her manager. The manager did not come to the table once. We did not eat the food and still had to pay for it. To top it off, we were in the bathroom throwing up all night. Not how we wanted to spend our weekend away. Stopped by The Quarterdeck Restaurant on a rainy day for some seafood. Inside of the restaurant was nice and cozy - just what we were hoping for! Here is what we ordered and how I would rate: - Lobster salad (5/10) - Clam chowder (7/10) - Fried scallops w/ fries (8.5/10) Overall, we had some delicious food but I did not enjoy the lobster salad which was a bummer. Furthermore, our waitress was so rude. We were visiting from out of town and when my friend asked if the fried fish would come with tartar sauce she paused, starred at us and was like "umm... of course it does". The fries were amazing, the sandwich was average, came with whole wheat toast instead of the marbled rye that the menu states, the server didn't mention they were out of Marbled Rye when I ordered it. We went here for lunch on the recommendation of another restaurateur. The ambiance is great here. Take a look at the attached pictures. We were lucky enough to get a table by the window across from the bar so lots of opportunities for people watching! We started with the soup of the day which was a lobster and corn chowder - excellent! We split the large lobster salad sandwich on Portuguese bread - toasted. It was loaded with flavorful lobster salad. We chose the house made Old Bay seasoned chip and they were top notch too. The start was the lobster!! My husband and I visit the area this time every year. We love the off season right before Summer. When deciding on a dinner location this year we wanted to go "Old School" and we chose The Quarterdeck since it was one of our first dates over 26 years ago. We were hopeful and pleasantly surprised how busy it was and seemed to be filled with many locals. Always a good sign. We were greeted quickly and brought to a table in the back. We love the ambiance there. Service was wonderful but only to be topped by the amazing food. We had a delightful server and enjoyed conversations of Falmouth and Plymouth. My husband had the scallops with sweet potato fries and both were delicious. Maybe the best sweet potato fries we have had. I ordered the NY Sirloin that comes with fried onions as a garnish and a demi glace with 2 sides of your choosing. I selected the side salad with Blue Cheese Dressing and Mashed Potatoes. The salad was large for a side salad, filled with fresh veggies; and as a blue cheese lover, I was giddy that the dressing had blue cheese in it, plus additional blue cheese crumbles on the side. The steak was beautifully cooked with a nice sear and sliced, and placed on the delicious potatoes and surrounded by the most delicious demi glace. I will be dreaming about this meal for a very long time. On a service note, it was a pleasure to observe the staff all working together throughout the dining room.
