As a Falmouth resident the Quarter Deck is a regular stop for its consistent quality, reasonable prices and adequate beer selection. Last night, 6/5/26, my excellent Cape Cod Ruben came with a a side of their house chips that were clearly a mix of stale chips mixed with a slightly less stale batch. NOTE to the kitchen: What is stale? Stale is when you can bend a chip at a 90 degree angle and it doesn't snap, slightly stale is still flexible, chips should not be flexible! A delicious first dinner in Falmouth! The watermelon caprese was fresh and tasty. The pesto was outstanding!! My wife got salmon, and the salmon and couscous were cooked to perfection. Our one year old daughter kept stealing bites! My swordfish was phenomenal. Perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. I got beurre blanc on the side, and didn't need it. The fish had so much flavor. My family and I stopped by the Quarterdeck for lunch during our recent visit to Cape Cod. As soon as we walked in, we noticed that most of the customers were older and appeared to be locals. Since it was a Monday, only a handful of tables were occupied, giving the restaurant a quiet, laid-back atmosphere. The servers were attentive and efficient, with just a hint of old-school bluntness--the kind of personality you'd expect from a classic New England seafood joint. It actually fit the vibe of the place. My wife and I shared the seafood platter, and the portion was enormous. It was more than enough for both of us, and it's hard to go wrong with a platter of fried seafood. One of my sons ordered the wings, while the other had the loaded hot dog. Everything was good, but nothing really stood out as memorable. The restaurant has the charm of an old-school seafood shack, which I appreciated, and the service was solid throughout our meal. Looked at many choices for our first night in Falmouth. This was a great choice! We didn't know it, but it was their first night re-opening too. We got both fresh offerings of oysters to start.- so good. For beverages, I had a Maine IPA & Kate had a pear pressure. We really enjoyed them both. Kate got the Seafood Pot Pie. The good news is we try each others meals. An absolute home run! The scrod, lobster, scallops and shrimp were perfect. Add in Newburg sauce asparagus and spinach, top it with a puff pastry to soak up the sauce-10 out of 10. There is a reason it's a house favorite. I had the baked seafood trio. Shrimp, scrod and scallops, with baked potato and asparagus. 2 u-15 shrimp, 3oz of fresh Chatham scrod and 3 local scallops, done in a lemon beurre blac. A small portion of each but delicious. The baked potato was just like you would hope. Asparagus was underdone, by our tastes, but not knocking the rating over that. Overall 8/10. Will try the blackened mahi mahi next visit. Kate's not budging from the seafood pot pie Our server Taryn was nice and busy. They have runners who are all over the place. Owner? out picking up plates and checking every time to make sure we were happy. Nearly half of my life was spent in the front of the house-that's how I treated every person I encountered in my establishments. This place was crazy busy. Every server, food runner, host etc had a genuine smile. Customers were happy, among them, many locals. Our take; if you are here for a few days or a while, make it a point to enjoy a meal here. Standard New England seafood and pub fare here, with the standard decor expected of a Cape Cod seafood restaurant: dark wood beams, nautical themes (lobster shells and horseshoe crabs on the walls, fish nets, etc.) Some Santas and elves too because Christmas was coming. In my experience one can tell a lot from a restaurant's name. With cliche names like "Quarterdeck," "Fisherman's Catch," etc. it's almost guaranteed to be average at best. I don't know why but it's usually true. I got a clam roll which turned out to be a mistake. I got it because I wanted a smaller portion than the platter. But the clams were oversized for a roll and too few in number so it was hard to eat. Good for a platter but for a roll, smaller clams and more of them would be better. But the clams though were fresh, cooked correctly, and the batter was decent, not outstanding. The roll was toasted and buttered, and a small lettuce leaf completed the sandwich. My biggest complaint was the tartar sauce, homemade, which was a disaster. Tasted of little more than plain mayonnaise. Unfortunately the fries were almost room temperature. I wasn't going to say anything but when the waitress came by and asked I told her. She apologized, took them away, and returned with a new platter of fries, a very large portion, and scaldingly hot. I was no longer so hungry but ate a good fraction of them, as leaving them after she brought a replacement just seemed rude. They weren't very good though; greasy and the oil didn't taste fresh. To drink I had a "mocktail" version of a Moscow Mule. It was way too sweet. Without the bite of alcohol it needed something else to tone down the sweetness. It wasn't cheap either. I should have just had a plain ginger ale. I would recommend trying someplace else instead. Lots of choices in the area. read more

10/10 recommend. Kicked off our New England road trip in Falmouth and wanted seafood immediately. Searched Yelp and found this place and did not disappoint! Cute little place with window seating (in the front room) to watch passersby. I got a round of oysters, yummy! Then shared clam chowder, dang...so good. Can't be in this area without clam chowder. BUT the star of the show was the seafood pot pie. We split it and whew...so full from half a serving. Plenty of food. It had lobster, scallops, shrimp, haddock and asparagus in a creamy (bisque type) sauce. When I say full off half...it's definitely shareable and delicious. Highly recommend! read more

The main area was busy and loud so we were offered seating downstairs which was quiet and delightful. Our waitress was lovely. We tried the specialty drinks. My wife enjoyed the watermelon drink and I loved the ginger smash with bourbon. We tried the watermelon Caprese salad and it was surprisingly good. They used watermelon in place of tomatoes and the pesto pulled it all together. My wife had the clam roll which was overflowing with clams. She's particularly about her clams and they were okay but not as good as other places on the Cape. I had the baked stuffed lobster. The waitress told me that it was stuffed with the claw and knuckle meat and breadcrumbs but it was actually stuffed with much more lobster. I would highly recommend this. If I could give them 10 stars, I would! The staff was so patient and accommodating to my toddler who had just woken up from a nap and a little cranky and our double stroller for our newborn twins. They provided us with a corner booth to give us the most room possible and offered to stow away our stroller safely. The service was prompt and exceptional. We had a lovely experience here last weekend! We walked in, and were seated at a table by the window. The table itself is made from what looks like an old stained glass window. We were excited to have a table by the window to be able to watch the Halloween festivities. Our server was wonderful, greeted us right away and gave us menus. I started with a cinnamon sugar rimmed shipyard, and we ordered the steamers as a starter. I've never seen steamers on a menu (we normally buy them and make them at home) - so this was a nice treat. They were plentiful, and come with plenty of butter. For lunch, we both had the seafood pot pie - it was really good. It came with lobster, shrimp, scallops, haddock, asparagus, spinach, in a beautiful lobster sherry sauce, with puff pastry. As soon as they learned were from out of town the service seemed to tank. For example we ordered sparkling water and the second bottle was flat water. We ordered starters like the waitperson asked and then they brought everything all at once *except* the starters. The oysters came out and she never told us which oysters were which. The Quarterdeck is my favorite restaurant in Falmouth. The food is terrific. I have been going there for years. Recently I had to have oral surgery. I am not comfortable eating in public. Today was my birthday. My husband and I always go to Quarterdeck for my birthday. This year we had to order takeout. Once again our Quarterdeck meal was incredible. The serving portions are very good, the flavors of the food were excellent. We had a salmon special, the swordfish special, shrimp cocktail, chowder, salads and rolls. It was a feast! We came by two times yesterday it was amazing. The staff was fun at the bar but also server at the table was nice. Everyone in my group had a great time. We tried a few Irish beers. 4 of us arrived around 12:30 on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon. It was half full and we were delighted to get a table by the window. 5 stars all around! SERVICE: Jess took great care of us throughout our entire meal. She has a wonderful disposition and was very familiar with the menu items. She really was a joy. FOOD: The roast beef dip sandwich special was excellent. The beef was shaved and a tender cut. The onions were caramelized and sweet and the cheese was flavorful. The Broiled Chatham Schrod was fresh, flaky and had a delicate crust. BAR: KJ wine was an average pour, $11, reasonably priced. Many other options, including a special cocktail list. ATMOSPHERE: The nautical themed inside is warm and inviting. Our table was a cathedral window shaped stain glass, surrounded with polished wood and topped with a layer of glass. It made for a really neat dining experience. There is no designated parking lot. We were fortunate and scored a parking spot on the street. I'd recommend allowing yourself a little extra time to locate a spot to park, especially when the weather is nice. They have a VIP program, part of the Popmenu service, which many other restaurants use. There is no cost to join. The Quarterdeck site indicates there may be specials or promotions made available to VIP members. I'll update if I receive anything in the way of discounts or coupons. read more

I would have given the server 5 stars. Mary was so kind and understanding. Our chowder was great. We ordered fish and chips, fried shrimp and chips, scallops and baked schrod among other things. The scrod and scallops weren't cooked and were not edible. Mary was busy, and we understand but she had offered to tell her manager. The manager did not come to the table once. We did not eat the food and still had to pay for it. To top it off, we were in the bathroom throwing up all night. Not how we wanted to spend our weekend away. Here is what we ordered and how I would rate: - Lobster salad (5/10) - Clam chowder (7/10) - Fried scallops w/ fries (8.5/10) Overall, we had some delicious food but I did not enjoy the lobster salad which was a bummer. We went here for lunch on the recommendation of another restaurateur. The ambiance is great here. Take a look at the attached pictures. We were lucky enough to get a table by the window across from the bar so lots of opportunities for people watching! We started with the soup of the day which was a lobster and corn chowder - excellent! We split the large lobster salad sandwich on Portuguese bread - toasted.
