Our first experience though we live year round in Falmouth. Facilities: Nice job on the outdoor remodel. Watched it being built in the late spring. Needs some finishing touches. And, please turn the bar tvs onto something more interesting than the stock video...maybe the Olympics? Drinks: Don't order the cocktails off the menu. They are weak and boring. We tried both the lemonade and the bourbon drink. I excited about each. No draft beers is weird. Food: "Award winning" stuffed quahog had some good and some bad points. Good - great texture and very moist. Bad - few clams, no chorizo was sad and needs a piece of bacon on top. That would be award winning. Sushi was ok. Nothing to write home about. Service - above average. All in all - fun but needs some serious improvements on food and drink. read more

I went to dinner there tonight and we had horrible service. Our appetizer was onion rings and it took a long time before we got the food. Then we ordered our entrees and two people were served their entrees (lobster and scallops) about 20-30 minutes before the other two people got theirs (sushi). We complained to the waiter about the long wait and asked to speak to a manager. Ultimately we got the sushi and they didn't charge us for it. I don't think I'll go back to this restaurant for a long time. read more

I have fond memories of this restaurant on the water in Falmouth. It's lovely sitting outside on a hot summer day and I may go back. But as people have pointed out the service is not great. I have a seafood allergy and made a simple request (cut dessert cake in half so I won't be sharing a plate with someone who had ordered lobster) and the kitchen refused. Situated on the picturesque shores of Cape Cod, the Flying Bridge restaurant offers stunning harbor views and delectable seafood. I chose the classic fish and chips, and every bite was crispy with golden batter encasing flaky fish. It was a bit different from what I usually expect but less oily and still delicious. DH had the seafood platter that he said was equally delicious. The accompanying coleslaw did not disappoint as it is house made and creamy good. As a self-proclaimed lightweight, I found myself pleasantly plastered after indulging in one of their signature concoction. But fear not, fellow cheap dates I don't drink and drive. When you spend a lot of money to travel for vacation and going out to eat. You have an expectation to have a good experience and share of excitement. We got to the flying bridge and had a 60 min wait which was fine. We sat outside and watched the boats, the venue is beautiful. When we were sat, we were barely greeted. Just a "what are you drinking?" Our server came to our table, I believe 4 times total. Once for drinks that were never refilled, once to deliver bread, once (while passing through) to say that the food would be there soon (while drinks still empty) and at time of check. We were basically talked to like we were complete idiots when ordering. My mom wanted the seared scallops which stated 2 sides included. She was interrupted while ordering risotto as her side with a "that's an up charge" when we asking for clarification on what sides were included she pointed to the menu and said all of them but that one. That's it. No further questions or explanations. When we got the bill, I asked if she removed the risotto because my mom never received it. A food runner had delivered our food, we mentioned it to him and I guess he didn't care either. Back to the bill and missing risotto, she says, it was included". After all the attitude during the ordering process. We didn't get a copy of the receipt so who knows if we were charged, we were over it at this point. Also love that the only option for a tip is a mere 18, 20 or higher percentage which was not deserved. The owner or manager? Walked by multiple times while our glasses remained empty; along with others around us. I found that pretty odd. The food was good. I do think for $100+ dinner and 60 min wait accompanied by mediocre service, I would rather go elsewhere and would recommend anyone traveling to try other places. There are plenty of other places that would love to serve guests and provide not only excellent food but excellent service. It's sad because this place could be so much better. read more

Great little seafood joint, that has that old school feel and flavor much like the defunct Issac's in Plymouth. Plenty of parking, and this place is deceptively huge. Very friend staff and a very clean environment. I imagine that it is insanely busy during the summer season. Menu is traditional New England seafood baked, broiled or fried. As well as steaks and specials. Full bar too. We had the Stuffed Cuahog and Ousters Rockefeller. Enter was salmon, rice and asparagus, and I had the Fried Scallop plate. All done exceptionally well. After a quick jaunt down the cape, we weary travelers were in need of dinner before making the drive back home. This place was the closest restaurant and it being Saturday night and having two hungry kids, I called to see if they had a wait. They said they didn't, I told them we would be there in a few. On the way, I started getting a little nervous that a restaurant has no wait on a Saturday night, even a restaurant on Cape Cod in the middle of November. But we made our way there anyway. I figured out why they had no wait when our food came out less than ten minutes after we put in our order. Also the ample seating may have helped as well as we were FAR from the only ones dining there that evening. The food was great as well. I stayed healthy and got a Caesar salad with three jumbo shrimp added. Don't worry about me though; it was completely satisfying! Anyone who can elevate such a basic salad definitely gets an A in my book! My boys got the kids chicken fingers and a cheese burger. The hubs got Buffalo chicken tenders and a side of fries. It may have been that we were really hungry but everyone raved about their meal. And finally our waitress was oh so sweet. I grabbed her name from our check so I could publicly shout her out. I see some of the bad reviews complain about the hostess. I see that and had a poor experience too. We arrived at about 8:15 and were told it was imposible to sit outside. I said ok I'll eat inside but they took us to a lousy table. My wife complained at this and a waitress came and said no problem I'll clear a table outside we have plenty. Once we got past that it was a great experience. The outdoor area is right on the water and very nice. The service was very good and well paced. We had the oysters for a starter. They were expensive yes bit just amazing, plump fresh and bursting with flavor. The clam chowder was excellent. We had a house salad with and amazing balsamic vinaigrette. Lastly we ordered the captain platter. This something we don't normally order as it's fried seafood but when done right like it is here wow! It comes it piping hot and it's a ton of food. With 10 shrimp, 3-4 scallops, a ton of fried clam and the most fresh white fish (I think it was /scrod). It also came with excellent fries and cole slaw. Possibly the worst clam chowder I've ever had. Given that this is Cape Cod (hello?), you would think that this place would have "wicked awesome chowdah." Sadly, it was not at all buttery, but had a slight bitterness instead. And clams? What clams??? Did their recipe call for a teaspoon's worth? The flavor was bland, BLAND. My review for the Flying Bridge is long overdue. I have eaten MANY times at the Flying Bridge and always get an outstanding meal. I've ordered all different types of sushi, cod, haddock, lobster and of course the onion rings. The new addition of the patio bar is beautiful and another opportunity to enjoy the harbor views. When people ask for a recommendation for fish restaurant, my hands down recommendation is always the Flying Bridge. I noticed that some reviewers mention bad service. I have never experienced that but all Cape Cod restaurants and servers can have a bad night in the height of the Summer tourist season. I can accept off service, especially on a crowded Cape Cod Summer night, but not bad food from the kitchen. The kitchen is always on point. My food and companions food is always top notch. Two friends that I go there often with have severe allergies; shellfish/lobster and Celiac. Neither one of them have ever had and issue and believe me, the Celiac has been glutened in many a Cape restaurant. Go and Enjoy! read more
