    Bacon cheeseburger

A cheeseburger in paradise! What lovely staff. Very supportive of our nations military.

I've been here twice, and look forward to my next visit! I enjoyed the bbq sandwich, coleslaw, and fried green tomatoes both visits! I was with my husband the first time, took my daughter and granddaughter the second time. We all enjoyed the food, service, and location location location! Seeing planes take off while enjoying company and food...such an experience! (My attached video not the greatest!) Owners/ employees are down to earth people and really friendly. Seating is great, indoor or outdoor. Great vibes from what seemed to be regular customers. Can't wait to go for dinner during a show.

3.5 Great views of the planes | Fun | Food is ok Based on my both visits and trying different foods here, I recommend: Country Fried Steak or Meat Loaf, Mac and Cheese and Slaw. We came here to eat while watching the planes taking off / landing. My husband is a private pilot so he loves checking out small airport's restaurants. They have outdoor and indoor sitting and I recommend you sitting outside to see the planes. The server was nice and they didn't take long to come check on us. The food is ok. I've been here twice and tried different things and everything I get tastes like canned/frozen food. First time I got flounder, mashed potatoes and slaw. Second time I got chicken tenders. Flounder and chicken tender taste like frozen food, mashed potatoes taste like those powder that you add water to it. The slaw was good. My husband ordered Country fried Steak, Mac and cheese and green beans. Steak and Mac were pretty good but the beans tasted like canned beans. Meemaw came with us and ordered the meat loaf and that was pretty good. We came here during Lunch Special time (until 3pm) so you get 1 meat + 2 sides for $9.95 which is a reasonable price for what you get. It's a nice place to come and hung out. Come for the view and experience not for the food. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, it's mostly just not fresh/homemade. ....Don't eat the ketchup btw. It was sitting on the table outside in the sun and in the back says "refrigerate after opening"....

It's great to be able to see the planes takeoff and land , either inside or on the small patio area.

"There's something magical about rooftops. You feel like you're in 'Mary Poppins."…read moreGeorge Clarke There really is something special about being on a rooftop on a perfect summer evening, and it's great to have it right in downtown Sugar Hill. I would like to say I planned the perfect date, but as some of the best things in life, this was just an impromptu visit to cap off an already great evening. Outside of being on the rooftop, the bar itself is upscale yet approachable, service was fast and friendly. Being a bit of a self engrandized home bartender I'm a bit critical when out of my home lab, but their Smoked Old Fashioned wasn't bad. ("Wasn't bad" really means very good.") While I don't love the prices and hate paying a cover charge, when you throw in live music, a great vibe, and a view, I can't really complain. The owner made an announcement that whoever tipped the band $10 would get a free drink, and since most drinks were over $15 I thought that was cool on many levels. Will definitely be back to The Rooftop!

My wife and I came to The Rooftop excited to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary. We walked in…read moreall smiles, found two open seats at the bar, and sat down. Unfortunately, that excitement disappeared pretty quickly. We waited approximately 10 minutes without being acknowledged. A woman standing behind us who had arrived after we did was approached by the bartender and had her order taken first. I'm not going to speculate about the reason, but sitting there and watching it happen certainly didn't make us feel welcome. At that point I decided not to order anything because I already had doubts about staying. My wife ordered a glass of white wine that was supposed to be a 6 oz pour. When it arrived, we both questioned the amount. I even noticed other glasses of wine at a nearby table that appeared to have considerably larger pours. I've included a photo so people can judge for themselves. We weren't looking for special treatment because it was our anniversary. We simply expected the same basic level of acknowledgement and service as everyone else. It's unfortunate because we came in genuinely excited to try a local place and celebrate together. The atmosphere has potential, but our first impression of the service made us feel like we'd be better off spending our anniversary somewhere else.

It was supposed to have mayo on it, but there was none. Also, lettuce and tomato would have been a nice addition to the two patties. My friend got wings, five hot and five hot garlic. The wings were a decent size, but he prefers them saucy which they were not. Service was fine. Our server checked on us the appropriate amount of times to see if we needed anything. We were there on a Wednesday and took advantage of their deals which was $1 off draft and $5 off hamburger. Everything was fine, just not amazing...but it is just bar food.

Over several visits, I've noticed that certain security personnel seem to pay an unusual amount of attention to us. At first, I brushed it off. There have been instances where it felt like security was watching us closely and waiting for an opportunity to confront us. I didn't want to assume the worst, but the pattern became difficult to ignore. Last night, things escalated. We were sitting at the bar, ordered food, and took it outside to the patio. Before we went outside, security specifically reminded us to make sure we paid our tab before leaving. We did exactly that and paid our tab before we left the building. As we were walking out, the same security personnel came rushing after us insisting that we needed to pay. We explained that the tab had already been paid, but instead of simply verifying it with the bartender or checking the register, the situation escalated. My friend was physically pushed by security, and what followed became an extremely serious and dangerous confrontation. What bothers me most is that this could have been handled so easily. If there was a question about our tab, simply check the payment. There was absolutely no reason for the situation to become physical. I'm not going to label the experience as racism simply because we felt singled out, nor am I going to make an accusation of homophobia that I can't definitively prove. However, we are two gay Black men, and the repeated scrutiny and aggressive treatment from certain security personnel has made us question whether our presence is genuinely welcome. I want to emphasize that some of the bartenders have always been kind to us, which makes this even more frustrating. My issue is specifically with the way certain security personnel are interacting with customers. Management should seriously review how their security staff are trained to approach and de-escalate situations. Customers should not leave a neighborhood bar feeling watched, targeted, or physically unsafe. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because we genuinely enjoyed coming here before this experience.
