Camas Dining Room - Not the pancakes we expected. Kids complained they tasted burnt. This was NOT a kids meal.

We stopped in for breakfast on a recent visit to Wallowa Lake. We had wanted to grab breakfast at…read morethe Blythe Cricket but it was closed on Mondays (even the 3rd of July). I love the Wallowa Lake lodge so I convinced my family to go there for a rare breakfast out before leaving town. We arrived and it was nearly completely empty(I should have taken that as a sign). I opted to sit outside since I love the porch and the backyard with its view of the creek. Our waitress was so cute and friendly but all of the menu items listed sourdough and she mentioned when I ordered (last of the group of 6) that they hadn't received their shipment of sourdough so the only option for bread was rye(which is odd since rye bread does not appear on the menu at all). She let me sub toast for a biscuit. The wait time was lengthy and when the food arrived it was mid. I ordered the veggie omelette, it was small and bland-not bad once salted but not generous in portion or well flavored. My biscuit, however, was the best part of the meal-flaky and a decent size. Our kids ordered pancakes and they looked (and tasted) burnt-like they had been cooked in a pan after cooking bacon-but no bacon flavor. My husband ordered the lumberjack and it would only satisfy an anemic lumberjack. It looked like only one egg was used for his scrambled eggs. The parking is convenient but I would def pass on breakfast here. It's edible but nothing special.

Camas Dining Room - Not very generous portions, decent omelette(after salting it) basic breakfast potato's and a good biscuit.

All you wine snobs are ridiculous. Not that restaurants dont have bad nights or sometimes bad…read moreservice....but my wife and I LOVED the food. The presentation of the food was great and taste was even better. The K-Sammy is VERY messy but so delicious. Calamari was tender and the dipping sauce was incredible. Not gonna lie, the Pork Cheeks wasn't me or my wifes favorite. But it really wasn't bad. *Lesson of leaving a 5 star before you leave the restaurant....the service was..alright..we had our card out waiting for the check for honestly about 30min or so and it wasnt busy. Room for improvement. We still genuinely enjoyed our visit.

We were seated quickly and it wasn't too busy so we were able to get a booth seat. The inside was nice and the booth was comfy. I decided to try a few items from the happy hour menu. Got an IPA for $8. Started with the k-pop wings. They were delicious and juicy and had a great flavor, and I enjoyed the sauces it came with. Also got the lamb burger. Honestly pretty disappointed. It was pretty dry, with barely any sauces and the bread made it more dry so it was hard to eat. The lamb was pretty good but wasn't the best. I also wish it came with fries or something else as a side. Finally got the Bibimbap with tofu. It was beautifully plated and had a lot of toppings but the rice was inedible. It seems to be at least a day old, not fresh, and it was not warm at all. The rice made it hard for me to enjoy as that was majority of the dish. The tofu was pretty good but overall I wouldn't return here unless for the k-pop wings. After dropping off the bill our waitress didn't come back at all so we had to wait a long time to get checked out, even another waiter had to come in and check us out because he realized she didn't come back. Kinda disappointed :/

I could not have loved this dinner more!…read more Service in the beginning was a little uncoordinated but once they got into the groove, everything flowed so well. Sundown was our main server and it was lovely. The meal is a prix fixe, with opportunities to add on with additional dishes if desired. We added on the charred shishito peppers and cheese plate and both were lovely. The star of our dinner was the pasta and meat courses - no surprise since the chef is Mike Easton, of Il Corvo and Il Nido fame. I will be dreaming about that Sungold Tomato pasta for years to come. The best part? An entirely vegan menu for one of friends that was delicious and in line with what we were having as well. She rarely gets to experience food the same way we get to so it was a real treat for her to have a multi-course vegan meal as well. Our amazing server Sundown also urged us to walk outside and enjoy the amazing sunset and I'm so glad we did - August harvest sunsets are something else in Walla Walla. The grounds are also amazing - beautifully landscaped, fun to walk around after such a lovely meal. We had such a memorable meal and time together last night, I was so impressed and HAPPY afterwards.

The evening started beautifully. The property itself is gorgeous, and the first few dishes that came out were wonderful. Unfortunately, the experience took a significant turn once our entrées arrived. The restaurant was gracious enough to accommodate my request for halibut instead of beef while keeping my friend's steak as ordered. Unfortunately, both entrées were overcooked. My friend actually looked at me and asked, "Are you sawing at your fish?" Sadly, I was. The halibut was so overcooked that I literally had to saw through it with my knife. As my friend put it, "No one should ever have to use muscle to saw a fish." Exactly. Her steak was also overdone. We brought the issue to our server's attention, and she asked if we wanted the dishes taken back. Of course we said yes, assuming that at a restaurant of this caliber, the kitchen would remake the entrées and give us properly prepared meals. That, unfortunately, didn't happen. Instead, dessert arrived. And that came with its own unexpected issue: while eating it, my friend actually lost a tooth. Yes--her tooth literally came out while eating dessert. Needless to say, that was not how we expected the evening to end. What makes this especially disappointing is the restaurant's reputation and the price point. We came in expecting a memorable dining experience and were excited to celebrate a special occasion. Instead, I left without actually having a properly prepared main course, and my friend left with an overcooked steak and a missing tooth. There were certainly some bright spots--the setting is beautiful, and the opening dishes were very good--but at this level of dining, the execution and, perhaps more importantly, the response when something goes wrong should match the reputation. For the price we paid and the expectations set by the accolades, this experience simply fell far short. Most disappointing of all, it was my birthday, and what should have been a special celebration became an evening we'll remember for all the wrong reasons.
