Great affordable breakfast. Dine in area is small, they do have an outdoor patio. The door at this place didn't stop swinging. From folks ordering breakfast to picking up burgers and phillys for lunch. The service is fast and friendly. Definitely a mom and pops shop. A hidden gem for sure. Old school dinner vibes with pictures in the wall. You can order at the counter or they can take your order at the table. This will be one of my many stops for a quick breakfast

The portions are just right especially for the price. The country steak is probably not house made but it was cooked well and had a nice crispy exterior while the inside was still moist.

The first time I came here it was about two years ago and I had a burger that I remember was great. I'm not sure why I haven't came back. Anyways I was in the area and was hungry and then I thought to myself oh wait the food junction is nearby. I came in around 9 o'clock, and there was just one other person in there. This was good due to the parking situation here they are limited in the amount of parking spaces they have. Anyways, I walked in and was greeted by the woman at the front counter, I took a quick glance at the menu and the breakfast special combo caught my eye, but I wasn't craving pancakes so I ended up getting the number two which is two eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, and toast. I also got a coffee on the side. The prices did go up a bit since the last time I've came, but not anything horrible. This place still has amazing prices compared to other diners. They have six tables inside and also some tables outside as well. Apart from their normal breakfast, they also have a variety of cold sandwiches and hot sandwiches. They also have burgers and beer! The food was great warm and everything tasted fresh. I think I'll be coming by more often.

This place was amazing! The food is so good and great prices holy shit. I would come back again and again. Wow I have no words for how amazing this place is... I'm always busy and finally got to try it out for myself and I'm glad I did .... I want to try everything on the menu now!!! You can even eat outside in a very nice little area.

This spot is so fabulous I hesitate to attempt to describe it. This was my third time here with my girlfriend. The people working there are always the same. I don't know where they're from, but they are to the point and kind. We were seated quickly, served by the same woman serving everyone else in the spot, and fed fast also. This was my first time straying from the delicious breakfast combo, which is comprised of two sausage links, two strips of bacon, two eggs, two pancakes, and hashbrowns, all for 11.99. Every single item on the two plates (one for the pancakes) is tasty, fresh, and classic. The coffee is a delicious dark roast, and the ice water is served with lemon slices inside. Everything comes hot. My omelet was phenomenal. A nice layer of egg and shredded cheese over griddled vegetable, sausage and bacon. The mildly caramelized onion, tomato and pepper all get to share some of that bacon and sausage fat under their blanket, and lend themselves wonderfully to the starchy, well seasoned, hashbrown accompaniment. There's even outdoor seating shaded by jasmine plants. The seating is a bit crowded (which I personally love), which has meant that each time I come I get to chat with somebody new. Thank you to those at food junction for a fantastic experience as usual. There is a wall for photos of regulars, so me and my girlfriend are going to put a film photo up in the restaurant soon, taken by a fellow patron: Keith! Shoutout Keith!

Been here a handful of times now and we keep coming back to this junction. When the service is nice and polite, the food is consistent and the prices are unbeatable. They win with the triple hit. The parking lot holds about 8 spots or so, but there is some Parking down the side street at least on one side(i used it). They have inside and outside tables depending on your preference. They have a good lineup of food from breakfast to lunch items. The burger is good, and i added an egg and made it a breakfast burger. The breakfast special comes with 2 ea - bacon, sausage, eggs and pancakes with a side of hash browns for 9.99 (current as of june 2023). They serve, coffee, tea, soda, Gatorade, energy drinks and beer. (fosters and Modelo i have seen)

This is a great hole in the wall brunch spot. Quick and easy meal and good service. I'd recommend if in the area

    Corned beef hash and eggs.

I've lived In the neighborhood for over 15 years and never made it to this place. I found myself close by with the need for a quick bite and stopped in this little gem. Good service, decent food, and a fair price. What else could you want these days? I got the corn beef hash and eggs while W got the juevis ranchers. The crust on the corn beef hash was crispy and perfect. The eggs were cooked exactly like I ordered and the hash browns were crispy and tasty. W's juevos rancheros came with a side of avocados and onions, a nice touch. All in all a great little place to grab a quick bite. We will be back to try some of the other menu options.

    A simple menu.

I've driven past this place for over 25 years, and have never stopped. Today, I was doing businesses with one of the car dealerships in the area, and so I finally decided to stop in. I call this place a "blue collar greasy spoon", and I say that as a compliment. Their clientele is primarily the people who work in the many used car dealerships, auto shops, etc... in the area. I walked in right at noon, and the place had only one other customer. Within 15 minutes, there was a long line of people waiting to order food. Every table in the small dining area was about to fill up. The menu is simple... It says right on the sign in front of the restaurant. Breakfast, Lunch, and beer. :) I ordered the patty melt with fries, and a large soda. The sandwich was excellent. I liked the onions, the burger was a decent size, and not over or undercooked. I normally don't care for white american cheese, but with this sandwich, it worked. Neither the sandwich nor the fries were greasy at all. A very good simple meal. For a good meal and a soda, I only paid about $9 out the door, plus a small tip. You can really get great meals at the little places just sitting alongside the road. Thanks!!

    Latest menu as of 9/21/24.

The Food Junction is a must-visit when you're in town! Even with inflation, their prices remain affordable, and the owners are always kind. As a long-time customer, I've never been disappointed. Their burgers and rib-eye steak are my favorites, and I can't forget to mention the fresh fries and unlimited refills--even on coffee! The parking can be tricky since the restaurant is small, and seating both indoors and outdoors is limited, but that doesn't stop me from coming back. Here's a look at my breakfast this morning: #7 Steak and a peek at the latest menu. You can't beat the value!

So the wifey and I are day drinking our way thru Oak Park on this particular Saturday and as we…read morewere kinda walking aimlessly after a few beers at a local brewery-we ran across this simple unassuming door with the name The Butterscotch Den written across it-it's kinda crazy because I had no idea where this bar was and for sure didn't know it was in Oak Park-I couldn't have been happier as this bar has been high on my must visit list for months. When we walked in I knew I was in the perfect spot-this bar has those low lights that all the bars in the 70s and 80s had-giving off a both romantic and mysterious vibe to it-I was in love with the place from that moment on. The music that day was awesome-I heard they have live music at times but at the time of my visit they did not-they were instead playing 90s and 2000s R&B and Hip Hop-it was wonderful-one banger after another-so yeah I was vibing. Our waitress couldn't have been cooler-she was as friendly as can be-suggesting drinks that were both on and off the menu-her and I were sharing tequila stories based on our shared affinity for the Fortaleza tequila they had in stock -which is super rare and it's how I judge every bar-whether or not they have Fortaleza tequila on hand and The Butterscotch Den had multiple bottles on hand. We ended up going with a few drinks that day. -Strawberry Negroni-($13.00)-This one blew my socks off-my favorite drink in the works is a Negroni but this bar makes a Strawberry version of it and let me tell ya-it's dynamite-10/10 rating -Old Fashioned-($12.00)-This is my go-to order at most bars because it's pretty reliable and most bars can make a decent one and I'd say they make a very solid one here-8.2/10 rating -Cucumber Gimlet with Tequila-($11.00)-This drink was made with lime-sweet vermouth and tequila-it was very refreshing and went down way too easy-rating 8.4/10 -Mezcal mystery drink-($12.00)-This was a drink the bartender made that after we declared our love for the smokiness of mezcal-I wouldn't be able to ask for it again unless I got the same waitress but if your a mezcal lover like I am-this drink was top of the line-smokiness intensity off the charts-9.1/10 rating So a little about the place that I picked up during my visit-I guess they serve food-I didn't know that but after my 2nd drink I looked back and saw this entire dining area with table side grills-so I guess the customers cook their own meats and such-pretty cool concept-my visit was strictly a drinking visit so I didn't partake but it looked pretty cool. I guess they are opened most days from 4p-12am and until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. They do not have a dedicated parking lot for this bar but they are located near 34th and Broadway-so unlimited street parking is available for those who drive here. In closing-I really really enjoyed my visit to The Butterscotch Den and I was pretty sure I had found my new favorite bar in Sacramento with a bar in the Ice Blocks but I am pretty sure that has changed and The Butterscotch Den is my new favorite bar in the greater Sacramento area-if you find yourself looking for a new spot to enjoy some adult beverages or maybe looking for a date night spot-don't hesitate to make your way over to The Butterscotch Den-the place is a true hidden gem. PS-They have a Disco Ball in their lounge area and a vintage non-working cigarette machine-the coolest I tell ya.
