I was there for the music on stage. It was outdoors with plenty of room for people to spread out enjoy each other's company. You can get order drinks and food outside. The waiters and waitresses will deliver it to you. If you prefer you can always go inside. There is table and booth seating. There is a nice bar you can also sit at. They have a stage on the side of the place with plenty of room picnic benches they serve food out there that's a plus. Had the 1/2 pound burger with cheese and bacon. The burger was okay, not great, and the bacon was overcooked. The fries were a mixture of being soggy, burnt tasting, and bland. Everyone else at the table also had issues with the food being bland and the turkey sandwich was slimy, cheap deli meat, with a strong flavor of liquid smoke. The band was inside and it was extremely loud, could not even here across the table. I get wanting to have live music but when you cannot even hear the singer that is an issue as well. We are from out of town and wanted to enjoy some great food along with the beautiful weather we are having, so we decided to try The Forge after reading some lovely reviews of their food and outdoor dining area. The Forge did not disappoint! We did arrive during lunch rush, but Brie was so friendly and accommodating! She is absolutely cheerful and described the food and drink menu very accurately. We walked around the beautiful garden while we waited in our food and Bloody Mary. There is plenty of room to roam and for children to play under the giant trees, around the garden, or in their outdoor alcove. So many outdoor seating options. The food was amazing! My husband got the tamales and I got the eggs Florentine. If you are graced by a gorgeous day, this is an amazing spot! read more

Bad experience- infestation of flies and over cooked chicken. The fly problem probably due to open windows and maybe weather over the week, but this is established restaurant and someone should have restaurant knowledge to attempt to address it. Sitting inside, had to cover food and drinks with napkins. Chicken on salad was overcooked and dry. Not a good meal read more

Oh my ....I have never been more grossed out. . We ordered chips, salsa, queso. I'm eating the salsa and feel something hard in the bottom of the bowl. Now mind you, this was Sunday brunch. As I take a fork to get it out- it was a piece of breakfast sausage at the bottom of my salsa bowl. How does that happen? The only thing I can think is they got a dirty bowl from someone else's breakfast and served my salsa in it. And worse yet- they didn't act like it was a big thing. I was mortified. The bbq quesadillas we ordered were mooshy and oily and terribly sweet. The guacamole had a weird texture. The Bloody Mary tasted like straight tomato paste. I would give 0 stars if I could. Great service. Fun environment and I hear that most of their food is delicious. So, I convinced my aunt to split the $32 ribeye dinner. The veggies and loaded mashed potatoes were spot on, but the ribeye was pretty bland, in my opinion. I certainly wouldn't recommend it, especially at that price point. What is worth going for though? Their patron margaritas and they'd be worth going for daily if they weren't ten bucks a pop. Oops. Should have asked before ordering 4 of them! This place was an amazing small-town treasure! My brother & sister-in-law recommended it as "a place that even their vegan friends approved". Since my birthday fell on a Saturday (also St Patty's Day), we all made a little road trip from Athens to have lunch here. It was pretty exciting, since so much celebrating with people dressed up in fun green outfits & some were even getting ready for the motor scooter races. They were pretty busy the day we visited, but there was plenty to see. Everyone in our group found something to eat, for a variety of tastes. I had a vegetarian-friendly personal pan pizza, which I would get again after trying more delicious stuff on their menu. It was difficult to find a good parking spot, so we parked across the street. Since my nieces (ages 6 & 3) were with us, we had to be careful when getting across the highway. But things went well, & I would love to have another birthday lunch or dinner there, & I don't think I can wait another year! read more

This was my all time favorite restaurant & made a day of it to antique shop in the area & have lunch at the Forge. I was so excited as we don't get out that way enough. A younger dark headed girl with pony tails & glasses was clearly irritated we needed a second to look at the menu. I was trying to remember what it was that I had last time as it was so good. I've waited tables so am never ever rude to wait staff. We were ready to order & she spent time cleaning tables around us, getting rounds of drinks for everyone. I catch her eyes & smile & she walks off. I heard her talking to another male staff person & was annoyed by something. We wait & wait & nothing. They weren't busy or I'd understand. No one ever came over so we left. As we left other staff noticed, but at that point didn't want her spitting in my food. I'd been looking forward to the Americana & this outing for several weeks & was ruined by this very unprofessional & immature girl - please get rid of her!!! read more

By far the best meal we've had since moving to Texas! We had the Smoked Porkchops and all I can say is it was mouthwatering delicious!! I've been to The Forge twice in the last six weeks. On both occasions The Forge has been host to special events (June Bug Music Festival and Fire Department Benefit). The food has been good, but not great, and the service is a little spotty. Here's what you need to know. Slow down. Order a beer. Watch the band. You're food will eventually arrive. The shrimp tacos, bleu cheeseburger, and deviled eggs are very good. There's a nice selection of pizza, which looks fantastic. If the Fire Department is frying catfish...it makes for a great $5 appetizer. We will be back! read more

We have been patronizing The Forge since is first opened over ten years ago. The food, music and atmosphere (inside and outside) are still wonderful. Sadly, the service has declined significantly. On a recent visit, we weren't greeted and had to wait about ten minutes before we even were acknowledged. One of the regular waitresses was setting up for a large party and didn't offer menus or water. It seems as if the waitresses have become more "territorial" not waiting on customers (refilling drinks, clearing plates) unless they are theirs. It wasn't even very crowded but the service was dismal. In addition, the bartenders girlfriend is always at the bar, chatting with her and creating drama, and hogging the bar or an entire booth for hours, which impacts her work. The staff act more like they are hanging out with friends than at work. When we left there were 4 staff out out on the side kitchen porch! No wonder our service was pitiful. We love The Forge and want it to get back to the place we are proud to recommend to our visiting friends and family. Please step it up! This wonderful place needs some management and how! read more
