When we arrived we checked in with the hostess and was seated quickly. Our waitress came over to introduce herself and take our drink order. She came back after 10 mins and took our food order. We were given a complimentary pita and hummus with our drinks. The drinks are of a good size and are strong. Not strong in a bad way. The music was great and it was karaoke night so there were a DJ and customers partaking in the festivities. Time passed and no word from our waitress and we notice people who came in after we received their food. We stopped another waitress and asked for an update about our food. Since our waitress was at the bar socializing. We were informed the food is made to order. Ok, not even 5 minutes later our waitress brought us our food. Which was warm and boarder line cold. We didn't complain, things happen. The food was good nevertheless. We order more drinks. With another server as ours was busy socializing at the bar still. I had to get up and go to the bar to request our check. There was a discrepancy in our bill as there were more drinks than what we ordered. There was also automatic gratuity. I'm not against automatic gratuity, but I am against someone getting compensated well for poor service. My friend decided to speak to the owner before writing a bad review. Because she is a business owner and believes it should be brought to his attention. Titus came over after speaking with my friend and apologized for the poor service and stated he would make it right next time as we were on our way out. I'm not sure if there will be the next time. After Titus apologized we still remained to wait for our server to bring us our card back. After 25 minutes I spoke to the other server who was able to get me my card and our coats. I have to say I was disappointed with my experience. I know this was because of the service. The music was great, the atmosphere was great, the food was good despite being warmish, the drinks were good, the bathrooms are clean. The service was poor.

The grounds seem to be well kept as well as the inside. There is street parking as well as free parking in a lot located in the back. The only thing is you can only enter thru the front entrance. So though the parking is on the side/back there is like one way in and out so there is a bit of a walk. Other than that the food selection was impressive. From jerk chicken to fish, to rasta pasta and stuffed shells and everything in between. We also had a nice cheese and fruit board spread. And let's not talk about the desert! Thanks to a family friend, we finally tried Haitian cuisine. You know because, "Variety is the very spice of life..." The section of the business we walked into only provides to-go orders. Proteins are on the left side of the large enclosed steam table. Then, go to the right side and inform the server of your additional choices. There is a language barrier, but we knew in advance what we wanted and used the 'Point and Choose' method. We pointed to the Griot (Pork dish) Tasso (Goat dish) and Fried Fish for our proteins. Then chose three different types of rice. Each dish automatically comes with fried green plantain, macaroni gratin (mac and cheese), and a vegetable salad. Also included are small containers of pickliz, an escovitch-type vinegar based sauce, which definitely enhances the flavors. No complaints were made by my family, on the different spices used on each of these tasty, well seasoned dishes. Aside from the language barrier, another disadvantage, no poster board menus displayed or available to-go menus to peruse. Nor are there any names listed to identify each of the food items on the steam table. An odd setup, but it appears to work, as they were super busy and as I previously mentioned, have been a longtime staple. Right now, none of the disadvantages matter, and I will give them a pass, as we all enjoyed our meals and plan to be back to explore some other unidentified popular Haitian item.
