Ummm the crepes are huge!!! The cashier I forgot her name I think it was ally or Amy?? Really sweet! We came in on a weekday 9:30? And they were getting ready to close and made us a really nice crepe last minute. We were thankful! They are very hard working managing everything! Walked in on a Saturday night. Service was quick and friendly. I had the strawberry crepe slice and the egg tart. The strawberry filling in the crepe slice tasted like real sweet strawberry with just the right amount of sweetness. The egg tart was one of the best I have had. The crust was perfection. Mark greeted us very kindly and offered us 2 for 1 on the strawberry tarts the moment we came in since it was close to closing and there were only two left. Flavor, for the most part, was good, but the unripe banana slices brought down the sweetness and added a chalkiness that made my mouth feel dry. In addition, the almonds leaned more soft & chewy rather than crunchy. - Almond Croissant. Flaky, buttery, and filled with a sweet almond center. A Pleasant Surprise We accidentally stumbled upon The French Avenue while looking for a dessert spot, and what a pleasant surprise! The pastries were beautifully presented, fresh, and made with such good quality ingredients. Their hot tea was the perfect pairing. I stopped by in the morning for breakfast during the holiday weekend. I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered a guava cream cheese danish which was sweet and flaky with just the right amount of cream and jam in the middle. I also ordered a chicken pesto crepe and banana caramel crepe to share with the family. We really loved the chicken pesto crepe! It had a nice crispy finish and the flavor of the pesto was great! The banana dessert crepe was sweet and fresh. We preferred the crispy finish on the savory crepe but both were tasty. The servers come out to where you are sitting which is a very nice touch and they are very kind! They do not have any dine in seating inside due to the size of the bakery but there are plenty of outdoor seating areas nearby. Overall I liked the place and I would definitely come back! read more

Please beware. I came tonight around 9:30pm. There were two lady's in the back chit chatting and had no clue I was waiting in the front for about 15 minutes. Then when one of them noticed me she took my order and I put "No Tip" and she seemed bothered because of that. Like first of all we are already starting on bad service. When I asked her if I can get one of the crepes to go she said "it's already in a box". I was waiting outside for my crepes and they never once called my order out or even let me know my order was done. My order was just placed on the front desk. There was a young man that walked in with some boys and left because they saw no one in the front. Such horrible customer service but the worst part of it all was finding this piece of trash in our crepe. At this point we are beyond disgusted. Please be careful when you eat here. read more

A very nice little shop with a variety of items from ice cream, baked goods, drinks, cafe food and crepes. They had some beignets that immediately got my attention so i tried their Trio which is Chocolate, Nutella and White Chocolate. It was good but slightly on the dry side but I believe if I had it fresh it may have been better. You can't come to a French place like this and not try a Crepe. Their A La Folie is the classic dessert crepe with Nutella, banana and strawberry. This was made fresh to order and was the best item in my opinion. As for the drink their Pistachio Matcha Latte sounded nice to go with everything. While things were good I believe if things were served in plates and nicer cups there would be more people sitting and trying this place out. I'm not asking for one drop of extra gelato... just a bigger paper cup. Recently, a manager told me they could no longer do this because they're "losing too much money" on the larger cups. I was honestly flabbergasted. Meanwhile, customers standing in line are offered free gelato samples, often multiple samples, but apparently an empty larger cup for a five-year-old is where we draw the line on cost? The photos show exactly why I ask. This time we had brought friends and their children with us, and everyone walked outside with gelato overflowing and melting everywhere. At the volume they buy their cups even if the larger cup costs 50 cents more.. THEN charge me for it! I'd happily pay FOR THE COST OF A LARGER CUP. But after years of loyalty and hundreds of visits.. bringing EVERYONE for "Bacio break" being told this tiny accommodation is costing the company too much money was incredibly disappointing. The first time this manager said this, I let it slide.. this was the 4th recent visit and I HAD TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE. So although their gelato is tasty... they have a very disappointing approach to customer service from top down....hospitality is not anywhere near their priority list.

FYI parking in the plaza is a nightmare, so get there early if you have dinner plans!

If you're visiting the Irvine Spectrum Center, I highly recommend stopping by French Avenue. It's a charming French café with a great mix of savory dishes, coffee, and pastries. I ordered the turkey club and chicken pesto sandwich, and both were fresh, flavorful, and generously filled. The bread was soft but still had a nice texture, which made the sandwiches really satisfying. We also tried one of their crêpes, which was light and delicious. For drinks, the strawberry matcha was a standout. It was perfectly balanced, refreshing, and honestly one of the best matcha drinks I've had in a while. I also ordered a vanilla latte, which was smooth and well made. Of course, you can't leave without trying the pastries. The pistachio éclair was rich with great pistachio flavor, and the beignets were warm, fluffy, and lightly sweet. One of the best perks is their happy hour Monday-Friday from 11am-3pm, where you can get deals on sandwiches and crêpes, making it a great spot for a late breakfast or lunch. I recently stopped by and was not impressed. The food is too expensive for what you get. $15 bucks for a small sandwich and $12 bucks for an undefiled crepe. And it takes a very long time to get served here even when it's not busy. I understand it's expensive to rent here, but you either make the food very good, you get a large portion, or make the service speedy - which nothing like that happens here. The place looks nice, so you're expecting some really good, but it's disappointing. Not sure why everyone is writing about new management when it seems like nothing is different from older reviews. Is the lady telling these customers, "hey, by the way, we're under new management?" I didn't see a sign so this makes no sense. Anyways - good luck! read more

Would give zero stars if I could. Wow, just wow. Walked in, sat there for over 15 minutes before even getting the chance to order because there's only 1 employee scrambling to get orders done. Mind you, it was only for two or three people. I finally get the chance to order and she tells me it's going to be 20 minutes, but only after I paid!! I feel bad for the employee. She was very nice, but clearly the management or ownership of this place has zero clue what they're doing. Food was ok, nothing special. But the 1 star is almost solely due to this place being terribly managed. Do better! People are paying a lot of money to buy your very underwhelming, over priced food (which I will never try again). read more

*5/5 stars* Bonjour! The French Eatery, you've won my heart! I stopped by for a savory veggie crepe! The crepe was packed with sautéed mushrooms, melted mozzarella cheese, juicy tomatoes, fresh spinach, and a vibrant pesto sauce. Each bite was a flavor explosion! But what truly made my experience stand out was the exceptional customer service. The staff was warm and welcoming, and they even brought my crepe out to me on the lovely patio, accompanied by a sweet surprise of a side of chips. Might I say I've been to a lot of gelato spots in Southern California, frankly one of my favorites is in Laguna Beach. But stopping by The French Avenue was truly worth the trip. The service from the young man working the ice cream is excellent, I could say a lot about it but the gelato is honestly what I really came here to recommend. I'm a big fitness guy and I really am picky with my foods, coming and see the healthy options the flavors had were amazing. I got the chance to sample every flavor(more than once). Furthermore I felt more than at home with this amazing staff. Keep it up! Good things are coming for this store. read more

I had a great experience at French Avenue! The store has an amazing selection of fragrances, and everything is organized and easy to browse. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable when answering questions and giving recommendations. I never felt rushed or pressured to buy anything, which made the experience even better. Under new ownership, and what a great experience! The new owner was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and made us feel right at home. Their Dubai Crepe is easily one of the best crepes in Orange County--absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and truly exquisite. The portion is huge and can easily feed a family of four, making it well worth the price. The overall atmosphere is warm, inviting, and enjoyable. Love the ambience here especially when you sit outside when sun is down next to the bushes and your sharing a nice bite with someone.
