Me and my sister tried the strawberry, matcha and the classic The classic was good with the extra crispiness The matcha tasted pretty good too! The person who was helping us out was amazing and sweet and gave us recommendations.
I visited The French Avenue today because they were having a promotion: $16 for a coffee and crêpe combo, plus a free ice cream with a promo code. I wanted to order the Pink Coconut Latte, but the employee told me it wasn't included in the combo. I asked which drinks were included, and she said only a regular latte or Americano, so I chose a latte instead. Then I looked at the large promotional sign again, which clearly says "any coffee except matcha." I asked why the coconut latte wasn't included when the sign only excludes matcha, and she replied that it was because "coconut is expensive." I completely understand that certain specialty drinks may cost more and may not be included in a promotion. That's perfectly reasonable. My issue is that the restriction should be clearly stated on the sign. If the promotion says "any coffee except matcha," customers shouldn't have to find out at the register that there are additional exclusions. The explanation also came across as dismissive rather than professional. I then gave her the promo code for the free ice cream. A man next to her quietly said something like, "Just give it to her." She reluctantly checked the code and asked which flavor I wanted. After that, there was basically no communication. When my coffee was ready, I said thank you and received no response. When my crêpe was ready, it was simply placed on the table without a word. The whole experience left me feeling very unwelcome. The free ice cream is only worth a few dollars, and honestly, I would rather not get something for free if it comes with an attitude that makes me feel like I'm asking for too much. I can't even fairly judge the food because by that point the experience had already put me in a bad mood. Whether the food is good or the promotion is a great deal doesn't really matter to me if the customer service makes me not want to come back. Unfortunately, I don't think I would return.
The French Avenue is such a cute little spot at Irvine Spectrum. It's in this really nice outdoor area, and honestly, once you're sitting there, it doesn't feel like you're at a mall at all. It has such a cute French café feel, especially if you sit outside. We tried the Strawberry Crêpe, Fruity Pebble Crêpe, Dubai Chocolate Crêpe, Chicken Pesto Crêpe, and Chicken Dijon Crêpe. My brother liked the Dijon more, but I personally preferred the pesto. Both were really good, and I liked that they have a good mix of sweet and savory options. The egg tarts were probably my favorite, though. We got the regular egg tart, matcha strawberry, and blueberry. The texture was SO good. The outside is super crispy and flaky, and then the egg custard inside is really light, soft, and fluffy. It's such a good contrast because the filling doesn't feel heavy or overly dense. One tip if you're coming specifically for the egg tarts: I would go around 1 PM. They open earlier, but they bake the egg tarts fresh, so they may not be ready right when they open. Definitely worth waiting for because they're best when they're fresh. Also, the orders did take a long time to come out. They also have gelato and drinks like the Strawberry Matcha, so there's honestly a lot to choose from. Between the food and the outdoor setup, it's such a cute place to grab something and hang out for a bit. It genuinely feels more like a little café in France than a dessert spot inside a shopping center.
My daughter was dying to try their Dubai Crepe and was literally begging me to take her here. She became the happiest girl after the crepe came out. That thing was HUGE! Not bad at all for $16! The two girls who worked there were so nice. One of the girls offered to let me and my daughter tried their different gelato flavors and was just so nice and patient with us. The shop is very cute and all of us had a wonderful experience at The French Avenue!

Nice little French spot to grab a small bite. They have savory and sweet crepes, as well as some other small treats like tarts and macarons. The crepes are large and prepared well. The interior is beautifully decorated and they have plenty of outdoor seating.

This place is so yummy and the customer service is so great! The workers were all so friendly and shoutout to Ayah for helping me sample all the gelato flavors and freezing my gelato for me while I used the restroom. My friend and I got so many desserts to try: blood orange, mango and Dubai chocolate gelato and a French croissant tarte, a strawberry tarte and a white chocolate pistachio tarte. The gentleman (I believe the owner) was also very helpful and friendly. I'll definitely be back

Ummm the crepes are huge!!! The cashier I forgot her name I think it was ally or Amy?? Really sweet! We came in on a weekday 9:30? And they were getting ready to close and made us a really nice crepe last minute. We were thankful! They are very hard working managing everything! Good conversation and thank you for the amazing crepe! It was so big my roommate saved it for the next day The coconut and Oreo ice cream scoop was delish! Would definitely come back!
Walked in on a Saturday night. Service was quick and friendly. I had the strawberry crepe slice and the egg tart. The strawberry filling in the crepe slice tasted like real sweet strawberry with just the right amount of sweetness. The egg tart was one of the best I have had. The crust was perfection. So delicate but also with great crunch.

Mark greeted us very kindly and offered us 2 for 1 on the strawberry tarts the moment we came in since it was close to closing and there were only two left. We were after the dessert. THE FOOD. - Caramel Banana Crêpe. Thin, delicate pancake with ribbons of caramel, globs of whipped cream, banana slices, and almonds sprinkled throughout. Flavor, for the most part, was good, but the unripe banana slices brought down the sweetness and added a chalkiness that made my mouth feel dry. In addition, the almonds leaned more soft & chewy rather than crunchy. - Almond Croissant. Flaky, buttery, and filled with a sweet almond center. On top, sliced almonds and a delicate sweet glaze add textural contrast to this croissant. THE PARKING. For the smoothest arrival, skip circling the lot and head straight to the theater parking structure. It's closest to the cafe and parking there is free. THE VERDICT. A pleasant lineup of sweet treats worth coming back for, but I'd probably try a different crepe next time. read more

A Pleasant Surprise We accidentally stumbled upon The French Avenue while looking for a dessert spot, and what a pleasant surprise! The pastries were beautifully presented, fresh, and made with such good quality ingredients. Their hot tea was the perfect pairing. The white chocolate pistachio egg tart was the highlight--perfect texture, just the right amount of sweetness, and absolutely beautiful presentation. I stopped by in the morning for breakfast during the holiday weekend. I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered a guava cream cheese danish which was sweet and flaky with just the right amount of cream and jam in the middle. I also ordered a chicken pesto crepe and banana caramel crepe to share with the family. We really loved the chicken pesto crepe! It had a nice crispy finish and the flavor of the pesto was great! The banana dessert crepe was sweet and fresh. We preferred the crispy finish on the savory crepe but both were tasty. The servers come out to where you are sitting which is a very nice touch and they are very kind! They do not have any dine in seating inside due to the size of the bakery but there are plenty of outdoor seating areas nearby. Overall I liked the place and I would definitely come back! read more

Please beware. I came tonight around 9:30pm. There were two lady's in the back chit chatting and had no clue I was waiting in the front for about 15 minutes. Then when one of them noticed me she took my order and I put "No Tip" and she seemed bothered because of that. Like first of all we are already starting on bad service. When I asked her if I can get one of the crepes to go she said "it's already in a box". I was waiting outside for my crepes and they never once called my order out or even let me know my order was done. My order was just placed on the front desk. There was a young man that walked in with some boys and left because they saw no one in the front. Such horrible customer service but the worst part of it all was finding this piece of trash in our crepe. At this point we are beyond disgusted. Please be careful when you eat here. read more
A very nice little shop with a variety of items from ice cream, baked goods, drinks, cafe food and crepes. They had some beignets that immediately got my attention so i tried their Trio which is Chocolate, Nutella and White Chocolate. It was good but slightly on the dry side but I believe if I had it fresh it may have been better. You can't come to a French place like this and not try a Crepe. Their A La Folie is the classic dessert crepe with Nutella, banana and strawberry. This was made fresh to order and was the best item in my opinion. As for the drink their Pistachio Matcha Latte sounded nice to go with everything. While things were good I believe if things were served in plates and nicer cups there would be more people sitting and trying this place out.
