Beef Wellington was meticulously prepared per New York Times recipe. Pastry was delicious, and the steak perfectly medium rare per our desires. The steak? Not so much. This year my wife was celebrating a big birthday and she said she did not want to cook for Thanksgiving. Being the wise husband I said sure. In my mind I'm thinking I've got the world's best Thanksgiving meal preparer. We have a huge crowd and what if it sucks. They amazed me with everything. Yikes. The store has definitely took a downhill turn I used to love going here and getting their meal deals. They used to have excellent customer service. Unfortunately they are under new or different management and changes is inevitable. However, the customer service now is horrible so is the quality of the products. It is very rare that I give a one star review but in this case I have tried I've gone back a couple of times to consistently have tainted or spoiled food. Please check things if you choose to shop here, most typically expired or bad. I do not recommend there are several amazing grocery stores in the neighborhood and I encourage you to Google them. I'm a bit surprised how low the rating is for this location...really, for ANY location of this amazing grocery chain. I was finally able to check out this particular location today; and as always, I'm impressed. They have stringent Covid measures as you enter the door...and like the other Fresh Market locations, everything seems so clean and orderly. Now, I haven't bought any veggies from here, but everything else I've purchased, including meats, were always fresh and highest of quality. I may have mentioned this from one of my reviews for the other locations, but I really love their extensive selection of breads and pastries, as well as exclusive selection of unusual brands, including European labels. And again, I LOVE its signature Classical Music overhead! The Fresh Market was also my mom's (RIP) favorite chain; and she always had one of their bright, beautiful Orchids on her table (think she bought one every 3-4 weeks for decades!)...and seeing these flowers always make me feel at home somehow. Today, I just stopped in to grab a few French Vanilla bread loaves (OMG!!), and some varieties of bottled drinks, including "detox" water drinks. Honestly, I've never had a bad experience here...and I've been coming to this chain for decades. Definitely my fave grocery chain...even more so than Whole Foods. Think I liked the South Park location the best, but this one at Providence isn't bad at all. I like the wide, easy-to-manuever layout...actually very similar to the Southpark location, but possibly a tad smaller? I'm just so glad to see how this chain has branched out into several locations by now...and I hope there will be more in the future. read more

There was a new employee, a woman, who couldn't find the right sticker for a deli item she was weighing, and no one was willing to assist her after she asked two employees for help! I have been visiting Fresh Market every time I visit the Destin, Fl area. I am impressed and love getting special treats from this place. The produce is superb and you want to be sure to pick up snacks for your party or when you have guests for dinner. The last time I was here I found the French Macaroons and became addicted. From their self help area of chocolate covered nuts and fruits and other snacks to their bakery, produce and meat selection and olive bar, there is a little for everyone. I am Happy to say that I found a Fresh Market in my home state. Although it is a couple of hours away, I am sure a couple trips a year are in the cards for us to go there. read more

I have been a Fresh Market fan for years, particularly for the one on Pineville-Matthews Rd at Carmel Commons, but I find this one lacking in charm, atmosphere and customer service. It's more like a small, overpriced Harris Teeter instead of The Fresh Market that I have learned to love. After going a couple times I have lost interest. It does have a good meat department, which as a former butcher, I appreciate, but again it offers nothing a whole lot more than Harris Teeter or Publix. These days if I want to really splurge on meats, I'll go to The Butcher's Market at Rea Road. I am a bread baker. I have had a hard time finding the flours that I need for pizza crust and 000 flour. I was able to find them all at Fresh Market. There were even some special bread flour that I'm excited to try. Just walking into the store you are greeted by the flower department. They had Peony's! So beautiful. On the left is their freshly prepared foods to take home. The selection had me ah struck. I will be back for those nights I don't want to cook. The also had a nice bakery and meat department. There were several people behind the counter waiting to help you. The store is a great place to shop to find things you may want to try out. The store is super clean and well lit. The parking out front is plentiful. The cashiers were very pleasant. A very nice alternative to the HT. read more

Just had to add a little note here. Ordered the New Little Big Meal for this week which was Chicken Parmesan. It was fantastic. It had a beautiful Marinara Sauce. the chicken breasts were huge and coated perfectly and the veggie tray to cook along with the Chicken was so complimentary to the whole dinner , Also it was great that I could order this on Curbside pickup along with my other groceries, I didn't realize that could be done. Today I decided to stop at The Fresh M for a couple of items and everyone seems miserable, long wait at the meat section, one poor guy there trying to keep up. I really like the Fresh Market, however some things are definitely overpriced. Plus, my problem when I come in here is impulse buys on things that I don't need but look delicious! So I always spend more than I had planned. They do have a pretty good selection of prepared foods for those times when you are in a hurry & looking for a quick & convenient & somewhat healthy meal. On Saturday I stopped by to pick up some fish to grill and got a nice piece of sea bass. I also grabbed a prepared side - tortellini salad with cherry tomatos and parmesan. It was ok, but I expected it to have a little more flavor than it did. As usual when I stop in here, I made one unexpected impulse buy... they had a small red velevet loaf cake that was made with chocolate chips. Hubs and I both thought it was yummy! I ordered the salami panini, my 18 yr old daughter ordered turkey and Swiss, we asked to eat them there! Both paninis were not good, they were cold in the middle and warm around the edges, the lettuce and onions were wilted and soft, and there was very little meat and cheese on the sandwiches! My daughter, who wanted to eat there looked at me and said this is a BIG miss huh? I ate the warm edges and put the first half down and was going to eat the warm edges of the second half, picked it up and the bottom was soggy and just yucky! I was in the deli at 1:40 pm and there were at least five or six employees behind the counter doing various things. There was a lady with two small kids ahead of me. I waited five minutes assuming someone was helping her but then one of the deli employees strolled by and told us he'd be with us as soon as he could then walked away. I suppose I should have said something but instead I left and went to Harris teeter where they actually care. Five stars for selection and less than zero for service. Update 12/18/15- well folks nothing has changed here. Why precook things like chicken etc if you make it impossible for your customers to buy it? How long do I have to wait when nobody else is in line? 10? 15 minutes? Both Harris teeters and the public that are within 3 miles of fresh market have it figured out. Hopefully when fresh market has alienated all their customers and closed at this location something better will move in. read more

Customer service at this store is unbelievably horrible i can't even stress enough how unprofessional they are as a whole and the different experiences i have encountered. I see think they just hire literally anyone these days. No one answers the phone all day, i was put on hold 3 different times to try and get the correct person, then that person never got back to me after 15 min on hold checking on an item, called again and spoke w assistant manager about items, he did absolutely nothing on a CS level whatsoever!!! I was thinking you are really an assistant manager??!!!!! What is wrong w this store anymore!!!??? The Fresh Market is not a place I usually go to buy my weekly groceries but I do like to stop by when I want a quick and fresh lunch to go from their deli. You can get an entrée and two sides for $8 bucks. Lately I've been hooked on their curry chicken salad! I like most of the sides I've tried too. The cucumber salad is really good and so is the broccoli and pear salad( this one was recommended to me by a fellow customer while I was waiting to order and it did not disappoint). They also offer up a salad bar and anti pasta bar too. I do wish they had a self check out isle but other than that, no complaints. read more

Customer Service needs to be stepped up at the Deli & Meat counter. You always have to stand there for a few minutes before anyone bothers to acknowledge you. Then you're made to feel it's a bother if you order more than one thing. I dealt with this many times. I love fresh market at promenade, but lately they are short in alot of items. I have been loking for certain cookie and ask the bakery ,and they said it's coming soon.but it didn't happen. This was the worst experience due to the Manager named David. I took over an hour to place a curbside pickup of $150 of CHRISTMAS groceries on 12/23 for pickup the following day 12/24 Christmas Eve day. I received text alerts yesterday and today with the last text that they were too busy and can only have my groceries ready the next day instead....12/25 CHRISTMAS! Too late. I called Fresh Market to explain my situation thinking they would remedy this. Both the person who answered the phone "sorry we are slammed today" and David the Manager would not even try to help. David abruptly responded to call Instacart!!!! The curbside pickup is not Instarct and even it so, NEITHER of them took the minute to try to even help. David...Merry Christmas! I was so happy to have a fresh market open close to where I live. I usually go to earth fare but fresh market has more of what I like. I like the more open layout, selection was fab and bulk foods was excellent. Only hiccup I had was I asked at the meat service counter if they could cut a couple of steaks I had chosen out of their case into strips for stir fry. Meat person looked at me very confused and I said, "Please cut into thin slices?" Thinking he didn't know what strips or stir fry meant in my first attempt. He said, "Oh thin slices, okay." I see him hand the steaks to.a meat cutter at the far end. I waited for. about ten minutes, even though it wasn't busy (9ish on a Tuesday). Got my brown wrapped package and thanked them. Opened it at home and turned out they cut my 3 steaks into 6 thin steaks. Will try to clarify next time. read more

I love this grocery store! It's cozy, inviting, clean, calming and a joy to enter. The aisles are wide. The ceilings are high. The floors are gorgeous. The food selections are top notch and priced fairly. The staff are helpful and kind. The meat counter is unmatched in Charlotte. The bakery is wonderful and the deli is good. The cheese selection is fantastic. It doesn't have the "big box store" feel of Whole foods. Basically it's what all grocery stores should aspire to be. Have shopped in various Fresh Markets across several states, I must say the Providence Road location is disappointing. Customer service at Checkout, Deli and Meat sections is inattentive and at times, rude. At best, inconsistent. Highway 51 location seems to do a much better job, albeit a bit more of a crowded space. Seems the more spacious location at Providence Rd. could benefit from the store management and service culture at the other nearest location on Hwy 51. read more
