The installer was equally as competent. I upgraded builder grade hollow doors for solid core in some of the areas of my new home. I'm overall very happy with the product and the service. The only negative was the price. I felt they were overpriced across the board. If I had more time before moving in, I would have searched a little deeper for more reasonable prices. Ok, let me start with the name of the company, Front Door! Well I needed a back door. I called the company talked with Francisco.he was great and listened to what I wanted and needed. He helped emailed me a couple doors and things that I would need or want done. Golly he was spot on. Then Lance came out to measure and checked out what would be needed,,,,,,,,this was the original door over 50 years old, so things were old, weather worn, but lance said oh it's not that bad. After lance measured and turned in the paper work, door ordered and about 4 weeks later David showed up exactly at 9:00am. He was oh so efficient, he really knew what he was doing , was meticulous, a perfectionist, knew his job and went right to it. He even installed the lock and key pad I got and explained it all to me. We recently had two front doors installed and prior to the doors being stained and varnished (our choice to have stained after install) I removed the locking hardware. I have dissembled and re-installed many locks in my day. We selected Emtek hardware because of the quality and these proved a challenge to install. Lance, the Store Manager was nice enough to send a technician to re-install the locks. From the ordering process to our doors being received and installed ahead of schedule to service, we could not have been more pleased with the Front Door Company. We had a very positive experience with this company. Our new fiberglass front door is gorgeous. We did it all online, never setting foot in the store. Can't get more millennial than that and I'm not even a millennial. The communication with the company was always easy either via phone or E-mail. The payment methods were also all made online as it should be in 2021. We're close to putting people on Mars, but many companies in the US still rely on bank paper checks, lol. We had a professional measuring our old door beforehand to make sure all was right. Then we choose the door from their vast selection and once we agreed on the door details, we got a good quote and ordered it with a promise to be delivered in 12 weeks. It took only 9 1/2 weeks (Epic movie, by the way) so we cannot complain. The crew that installed our door did it in 2 hours and did a perfect job. They even installed my Smart Lock, which I assumed I would have to do it myself as it's more complex than a regular Dumb lock, so that saved me time. I purchased a beautiful $1900 front door from them they originally told me it would take 6 to 8 weeks for it to come in ...No it took 12 weeks but just like the other review(which I should have read 1st!) The manager Lance was completely rude telling me it was the shippers fault...which it wasn't then when it finally came it the excuses about staining it and how they need time but thats not the worst....Finally on install day their installer shows up and installs my beautiful door just when I think "it was worth all the waiting and BS" their installer damages my door by misaligning and drilling 2 peep holes that didn't line up and this is how he trys to fix it(see pics) not only was the door ruined but he got stain all over my Conrete entry way!!! Submitted real review. My wife and I were given advice to visit The Front Door Co. to select a new exterior door for our home. We arrived on a Saturday, late morning. The showroom was busy, 4 or 5 customers ahead of us, so we browsed the door selections on the floor. My wife and I both had previously discussed which style we wanted so we knew what to look for. Alas, the Texas Star door was on the floor. Nice style, fresh lines, and solid. After a brief wait, we met with Lance, who was ever so polite and informative about the product. Lance was absolutely, positively professional throughout the whole process of selection and ordering. I had to mention to Lance that I was very happy we had made the right choice to come to his establishment rather than a big box store. It is very rare nowadays to receive personalized attention, quality and detail which are major factors when making a purchase. Our door lead time was discussed and actually was ready to pick up earlier than the estimated time given. Lance double checked and verified that everything was correct at the pick up location. I proceeded to thank him once again. I have come up with my own personal rating when dealing with exceptional services and products. The 6 star rating. I also add POMG- piece of mind guarantee. Thank you, Francisco for referring me to someone who is totally disinterested in helping me out and thank you again for your total lack of follow through. Worst customer service ever!!! Congratulations!!! I bought an unfinished front door from these people months ago. They referred me to a guy named Clay to finish it and he pushed me out for weeks claiming his schedule was just too busy to squeeze me in. Then the day came that we had agreed on and it rained. Pushed me out almost another two weeks and it rained. At that point Clay pushed me off on another guy, Francisco (I'm pretty sure Clay never wanted to do my job in the first place). Anyway Francisco was the guy I bought the door from originally. He put me on his schedule right away but the day before he was supposed to come he rescheduled and then the day he rescheduled me for came and he altogether canceled and tried to push me off on someone else. Unbelievable. Horrible customer service!!! The door is just sitting in my garage now. It's been there for months. I guess helping customers is not a part of this place's business strategy. read more

So this review is long but I feel that the details are important here. I first started working with Francisco at the end of April and after much back and forth (which went well) I finally decided to proceed with my purchase of a door and frame, all of which came out to over $2500 (hardware not included since I wanted to save money by buying it on my own). I put down my deposit on May 4th with the understanding that it would be 7-8 weeks to receive and install my door. On May 8th I receive a call from their representative who would like to come take all the measurements within the hour. I just so happened to be in the vicinity so I easily went home to meet up with him. He showed up as promised and we discussed stain color and he took the measurements. After he left I checked with Francisco on the expected timeframe and he again stated 7-8 weeks. On July 2nd (week 9) I decided to call and get a status since I hadn't heard anything from them since May 8th. Francisco looked up my status and seemed surprised to see that he had just barely received the door. He said he would double check and get back to me. Shortly there after I receive an email from him that the door had just been received, it would be stained by the 25th (of July) and if all looked good, he would call to schedule my install date. No apologies and no explanation. So at this point, I am very upset. July 25th would mean over 11 weeks! And that would just be the date of staining, not the day of installation. Plus at no point since May 8th did I receive a courtesy call to tell me how delayed this would be. It truly felt like they simply forgot about my order. I called and asked to speak to a manager. The man who answered, Lance, said that he was the manager and asked how he could assist. I proceeded to express my frustration to him about the lengthy wait, no communication, no apology, etc. I explained that the situation felt very much like a bait and switch because if I had known how long the process would actually take, I could have made an informed decision and decided to go with another company. Lance was very understanding and apologetic. He stated that they were just very busy and the delay was in the staining department. However, I have to believe that if they realized they were taking more orders than usual then they would have known the time frame would be more than 7 to 8 weeks and thus, should have informed me. He again apologized and said he might be able to move up the staining by one week (July 18th). After speaking with the staining dept he called back to say that he would move up the date by one week but unfortunately that's all he could do. This did little to make the situation better but I felt defeated at this point since I had waited so long already. I said fine. Sure enough on July 18th Francisco calls to notify me that my door is ready and he'd like to schedule my installation date. Feeling less than enthusiastic I tell him I can meet whenever they can. He proceeds to tell me that he doesn't have anything available until July 30th. Feeling ever more disheartened by the situation I tell him I don't care anymore since this has been such a terrible experience and I will just take the appointment on the 30th. He seemed irritated by my response and just said "Well I may be able to do Saturday (the 20th). Let me check and get back to you." Again, no apologies. He called back a few minutes later and said they would be there on Saturday the 20th. I said thank you and that was the end of the conversation. The installers showed up on time on Saturday morning and were absolutely awesome. They worked hard and fast and did a phenomenal job. This was the most impressive and wonderful portion of my whole experience with this company. I called Francisco on Monday to pay the remaining balance and it was short and uneventful. Again, no apologies, no questions about my experience, nothing. I paid my full balance and walked away from this company for good. So in conclusion, yes the end product is gorgeous. I am very very happy with my new door and have received compliments from several people who are just passing by. So if you have all the time in the world and are not big on customer service then this is the company for you. If you're wanting more value for your money (in my case $2500) then definitely find another company to work with. read more

Like I said before, all this company does is provide execuses, execuses and more execuses. The 1000 dollars was not a discount it was payment for the damges caused from the first time the door did not function and water unexpectadly came into our home. If this company new what they were doing, this would not have happened the first time. The photos provided was the third storm we had where water came in, since then we have had several storms where water still comes in. The date of the photos when water came in was a thunderstorm in our area with winds of less than 9 mph. The other storms varried in strengh and water still came in. The diatribe of emails with excuses, including an allegation stating that my husband came to their showroom stating that we wanted to change our doors because they leaked. Something that was an outright lie and now Ryan states that we have never have been to their showroom, which has no relevance to the issue at hand . . The door that was purchased is custom, it would not be in their showroom. Their sales team leads you to believe that they are part of the manufacturing process and never inform you that the door is coming from a foreign country. It is easy to say, to return the doors, when this process started in July of last year and the initial installation was in January of this year. It was a long and expensive process. As to the Better Business Bureau, after a dozen emails back and forth, the Better Business Bureau, closed the file because there was no end to the emails and excuses after excuses. The Better Business Burea does nothing and closes there file when the parties cannot come to a resoltuion. It means nothing. Be aware that if your door has a problem, be prepared to be lied to, given the run around, having no warranty and being extremely frustrated with the deceptive and manipulative practices of a company that represents to have special knowledge in their field. read more

I purchased three doors from this company. The front door turned out wonderful as well as the patio door. However, it was the last door where I had a really bad customer experience that will drive me to using another company. First of all, I get a call from the installer the morning of and he tells me that I need to go to Home Depot to buy a hardware kit and it was Francisco's fault for forgetting to tell me. Well that's great, however, it's a Tuesday morning and I am working. You expect me to drop what I am doing and 'go to Home Depot real quick' to rectify the mistake you all made? No. So they had their installer stop and buy it, nice little $30 set and I get the invoice for $92, lol. Second, during installation they destroyed the new threshold that was installed during my wood floor installation. Sure, they replaced it but now I am left to stain it which I shouldn't have to do. Also, no apology whatsoever from the company, and I purchased a handful of doors from them. Too good to swallow your pride, eh? You all act like you are the only door company in town, specifically Lance and Francisco. News is, you are not. Pan forward 5-6 months and our knob was sticking & the plate under the entry way was separating. Somewhat bummed about it, we went to the store on Saturday to see what they could do. Well, by Monday morning they had their installer out & he fixed EVERYTHING for free with ZERO hassle. Went to the Front Door showroom twice, cash in hand, and never got any service at all. Once they were pretty busy, so we understood waiting a long time, so my wife and I hung out for about 30 min. We had one woman pass by us and say about 15 min in saying "We will be right with you" with nothing after that. It was frustrating but chalked it up to being busy. Went again a few months later and we had the same experience but worse because they were not busy. About 2 other customers in the store were being helped and they were only helping them - not even acknowleging we just walked through their door. We didn't get a greeting or anyone offering to help. These folks just sat at a table with other customers and looked up at us without any indication we would get help. We shopped around for about 15 min giving them the benefit of the doubt, but after we saw a worker sitting on a computer with no client look over at us and did bother to get up so we dipped. There is absolute understanding on being busy but y'all need to take a class or something on customer service and sales. A couple of check ins letting us know "we see you, we apologize for the wait, we are busy, in the meantime did you have any questions I can answer? etc"- would have went a long way. Its disappointing because I live so close to this place and wanted to give them business with our new home remodel but had to move on since we couldn't even get to step 1 with them. read more

We live in an older home, and things are wearing out. We just had our second new door installed by The Front Door Company. The first one was wood, and this second was fiberglass because it would be in full sun. We are pleased with them both. Mindy did a thorough job finding the best door/price on both jobs. It is not a super easy process, especially with COVID. You have to make an appointment to view the showroom, someone has to come to your house to measure, Mindy has to find a door that will work- that you like. Then when it is ordered, it takes what seems like forever! But, man, when it gets put in, you are in heaven. These doors are beautiful and they work so smoothly. What I really want to emphasize, is the absolutely great installer, Kevin and his wife. I called the Austin store and spoke to Clay , he found the exact door I wanted. He provided excellent customer service and emailed me a picture of the door to make sure it was the same door I wanted. He explained everything from purchasing the door to the installation. He advised that he will shipped the door to the San Antonio location and they would call and set up the installation for me. Hanging exterior french doors that look great and function properly is not simple. I needed advice on finishing as well as installation. I received prompt responses to all my questions, and all the advice I received was accurate and helpful. Near the end of the project, the folks at The Front Door Company sent out their installer, Lance, to install the strike plates for the dead bolt and the door latch. Lance put in the strike plates and offered to finish the hardware installation, which he completed in short order - and at no additional charge. Lance is a craftsman, and if he does any work on your doors you can rest assured that it will be done properly. I called these guys when some panes of glass in my front door had cracked. I came to know of them through their other excellent Yelp reviews. May I say, I hated my front door. It was faded, stained, and just looked worn out. Visited The Front Door Company and spoke with Thomas at their showroom. He answered all our questions regarding the types of doors available, the advantages and disadvantages of each, and all the options available for each door. We needed to have the glass replaced on our front, wrought Iron doors. We also had a sliding screen door removed and replaced with two french style, doors. The glass replacement was quick and easy and it looks fantastic. The patio doors were a bit more complicated because the doors had to be custom ordered. This took a bit longer than expected. However, the end result was amazing. What a professional outfit. They were prompt in scheduling the installation. They showed up on time.
