This was our second time coming to this location, & it was even better than the first! My boyfriend & I came with friends & family to celebrate his birthday, & we were able to get a last minute reservation that worked out perfectly. The service was amazing...our servers were quick, kind, & very attentive. We sat outside with perfect weather, which made the experience even better. The strawberry drinks were a huge hit with all the girls at the table & were absolutely delicious! Such a beautiful spot for a date night, family meal, or celebration with friends. 10/10 experience!

Great service, really attractive restaurant, food was just ok. We got the patty melt and the fish tacos. Both were decent just not great. And they just really didn't look that appetizing. I think since the restaurant looks like of fancy, the look of the food just didn't match. The food looked more basic diner-y and again, just wasn't amazing.

Review is for breakfast buffet - three days in a row. The Front Yard is the main restaurant in the Garland, and is famous for brunch, lunch, and dinner in a spacious restaurant with classic Hollywood and Polynesian vibes. Its also the main breakfast option for guests. Expect a 5-10 wait for breakfast. The adult and child buffet are actually very reasonable compared to the typical Hyatt or Marriott buffets. They tend to have the same stuff: scrambled eggs with cheese, spinach, and tomatoes, bacon, a thick chicken sausage, and roasted potatoes for the hot stuff. They have oatmeal, cereals, Chobani Yogurt, and assorted baked goods. My son's favorite of course are bananas, cantaloupe, and honeydew. Although the food doesn't change, its consistently good. 4 stars overall. For ala carte items, we tried Nutella-stuffed french toast, Avocado Toast, and an egg white scramble which turned out to be my wife's favorite. Super rich with healthy proteins and fats. For our three trips, we got the best service from Miko. The other two times the servers were less attentive and the kitchen got super backed up and we wound up taking some breakfast to go as lunch for a departing flight.

All of our family were quite pleased to have this restaurant right on the hotel premises. The decor is very welcoming with tropical groovy vibes. I recall that most of staff were extremely friendly. The spot can get busy as one morning. We were turned away without a reservation over the next morning we were able to just cruise in. As a vegetarian, there's not a whole lot to order, but I was able to find a few things. The kids absolutely loved their stuffed French toast. Prices are on par for a hotel. I appreciated all the different dining spot we could have our meal- from indoors to outdoors all; quite nice.

Not only is the food delicious at this wonderful restaurant but the hospitality is second to none. Whitney, the hostess, was incredibly kind when I realized I booked the reservation incorrectly (wrong date) and she was able to seat us promptly on a busy Sunday morning. I am so grateful for her and she deserves a shoutout. As I had mentioned the food is wonderful and the ambiance is beautiful! I recommend anything on the menu but everyone in our large party thoroughly enjoyed their homemade pop tarts. Our server was efficient and food was delivered promptly after ordering. We can't wait to come back!

A Hotel Breakfast Buffet? Hear me out. What a surprise. This place was exactly what my taste palette wanted! Fresh squeezed juice that was not too sweet. I cannot stop raving about the candied bacon and the Valley Verde Salsa!! The Salmon Cream Cheese and the Banana Nut!! So delicious and amazing.

It's been a long while since I had a meal here and even then it was great. Dinner was great with great company. Fast forward to today. We attended a friend's birthday party which I didn't even know that they had a private patio towards the back. I always thought that the main front patio was the only one available. Anyways, the whole restaurant is beautiful. From the main front patio, to the bar area which I highly recommend to the indoor dining room. But today's event was held in the back private patio. We were walked over by the hostess to the room. Right when you walk in, there's a bar to the right. To the left are some hi top tables with tufted back seat and high chairs. A cool modern lounge vibe. And right straight ahead were tables set up for the party as well as more seating along the wall with pillows. The whole party vibe was beautifully crafted. I believe it was open bar and for the meal, it was buffet. A gathering of amazing friends all there to celebrate someone special. The whole team at the restaurant whom I believe was in charge of the arrangement did an excellent job. Not only was it a party, they also had a dj which started off the party with karaoke. For the meal, the tables all had pitchers of mimosas to start. There were also other drinks at the bar set up as well as wine if needed. As it was a buffet, the food was arranged towards one side of the patio. Food consisted of house potatoes, bacon, sausages, brioche French toast, short rib eggs Benedict, two types of salad (Caesar and arugula), a fruit platter as well as build your own bagel and lox station with all the trimmings. Excellent choices for meal service and there was plenty of it. Everything was quite delicious. Only downfall, there wasn't a toaster for the bagels for the lox. Give or take some people prefer their bagels toasted while others didn't. The whole package was amazing and well executed. The hostess threw an amazing brunch gathering. The restaurant itself has great dishes and now that we've experience a brunch, it was great. Service was amazing with all the staff that took care of us was outstanding and very sweet. The experience was amazing for the private room which now I have enjoyed beside the restaurant. Also restrooms were right outside the door. If you're looking to host an event, the private patio area was amazing.

The mac & cheese, flatbread and fries were good and brussels sprouts fantastic!

Amazing vibes at The Front Yard! This place is ideal for a great meal outdoors or a celebrating a birthday with a group. The decor is super fun and they have plenty of seating. Our waiter, Jesse, was perfectly attentive and we appreciated his food and drink recommendations. My friend had the short rib hash and I had the hot honey biscuit. We both loved our selections. We also had the pop tarts, which were just okay. Overall, it was a great lunch and I look forward to coming back again.

    Nazly I.

Incredibly disappointing and completely inflexible. Tried coming here today to celebrate my birthday with a party of 10. The restaurant was completely dead, and the outdoor patio was entirely empty. Despite having immediate, wide-open availability on their app right now (with consecutive openings every 15 minutes all afternoon, as seen in images) , the staff refused to accommodate us or even attempt to piece tables together. Turning away a large group on their birthday when your establishment is practically empty is just terrible customer service and a massive management failure. the hostesses sighed and rolled her eyes before telling use they had no availability for today. If you want to actually be accommodated or celebrated, go somewhere else that cares about hospitality. Completely ruined the birthday mood.

Located at the Garland Hotel, the Front Yard holds its own as a restaurant. Conveniently off the 101 freeway on the cusp of North Hollywood and Studio City, this is a staple in the neighborhood for over 50 years. There is inside and outdoor seating available, the views are great both. Check out the menu with a variety of food options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I always go for the buffets, I enjoy the variety, to get a little of everything. The waitstaff are pleasant and the vibe is chill to moderately bustling, depending on the time of day. Parking is validated for 3 hours.

This is one of local gem dining in the area. Always crowded. We walked in around 5:30pm right when dinner time on a Sunday. They have some reservations already. They do wait for people to arrive and placed them before start assigning tables for walk in wait list. Nice gesture but lots of empty tables. We got seated to our table about 30min. Otherwise they said the next one will be around 7pm+. Next when the plate came out. It did takes awhile, about 30-40min for our order. Kinda long even though the dining area still has plenty of empty tables. Maybe we were on the bad days. AC was warm on our side even the tech came to check out while patio has wind breeze and the other side has cold AC. Now, the food, it's not too bad but nothing special. Fried chicken tasted good. Mac & Cheese are using shell pasta. instead of macaroni pasta. For the price, we could find better food. Parking is gated or Valet. About $8/hour on the gated side. Free when you purchased the food.

I went to the front yard today for happy hour and it was relatively slow, but it took a while to get seated nonetheless we ordered our food and that did take a little bit of time too, but we gave them grace. We got the mac & cheese from the happy hour, which could use a little bit more seasoning, or additional cheeses we also got the short rib burger, which was very flavorful and tasty with a side salad. That was good. It had a great dressing to it. I believe that for ambience purposes, it is wonderful.

Here is the breakdown of the pros and cons: Pros: One star for friendly service and being dog friendly. One star for good alcohol. Cons: - Seating is very uncomfortable. When this place was Stout, seating was very comfy. But for some reason, they've raised the bench seating WAY too high, to the point that your feet dangle if you're under 5'6". You're WAY above the table, and it's awkward and quite uncomfortable. - Food is sub-par. We tried an Okie burger and an ahi sandwich. The Okie burger was dry, tasteless, and underseasoned. The ahi sandwich was bland and unremarkable. The fries were far too overbreaded for my taste. The experience itself was remarkably seamless. Drinks arrived quickly, food followed with impressive timing, and every interaction felt genuine and unforced. There is an ease to the operation that can only come from a team that is both confident and deeply invested in what they do. The room carries a warmth that is increasingly rare. Like a year ago was the last time I ordered cider and he remembered! The vibe: I wouldn't really call this place a dive bar, but it's sort of got a hint of dive bar going on. The back patio is really nice during the summer but sitting inside the barrel is fun too. The bulldog is kinda small so you won't fit a ton of people in there but it's still fun. Lots of places to sit although sometimes it does get packed and it's standing room only. Not to mention, they allow dogs!!! This is a great place to come with a first date. It's good for dressing up a little but not too much and there are some corners you can sit in so you can have a little closeness. But the staff will also keep an eye out for you. If you are feeling uncomfortable in any way, they will keep an eye out for you and help you out. There isn't a designated dance floor but they won't be mad if you dance in the area that you've got available to you. Just don't accidentally knock anything over or hit anybody. The music: Chard is usually in charge of the play list but even when he isn't the music is usually pretty great and there's a band that comes and plays on Sundays for a while in the afternoon/evening. I have found some of my new favorite music because of this place. Drag brunch: I've never actually attended because I've heard it gets a little crazy and that can be a little scary overwhelming for me, but they do it everyday Saturday and Sunday and that's been going strong for a pretty long time so I have to assume it's a good time. The themed events: this is the kind of crazy I can handle though. They have done lots of the rings, zelda anniversary, a Star Wars themed singles event for Valentine's Day, a scholastic book fair, and Easter egg hunt, their Halloween and New Year's Eve events were AMAZING, I could go on and on. People turn up for these events and they are just some of the most fun especially with the costumes you will see. Go to Idle Hour. I've never loved a bar before. This place is something else. I promise you won't be disappointed, unless you're one of those kinds of people who finds something wrong no matter how amazing the place is or you're kind of an entitled jerk.

Loved everything about this place!…read more Staff was excellent and attentive. Food was amazing and very, very creative. The brick barrel vaulted ceiling that runs the length of the restaurant really adds to the ambiance of this place. Out of the seven dishes, only two were not as flavorful as expected. They were good by any other restaurant's standards, but just not great like the others. The other five dishes more than made up for this small blip. Can't wait to go again. Must tries: Quail Deviled Eggs with Ahi Tuna and Dill are amazing!! Hamachi with sprouted broccoli, tempura, ponzu, shiso aioli, Black Sesame Seeds Charred Brussels Sprouts with almonds, grapes, and Pecorino Romano. Lamb chops with Aji Amarillo, rosemary, and yogurt. These were the most tender lamb chops I have ever had. And that often overly-lamb flavor was not there. And do not pass up on the Charred Skirt Steak with yuca, chile de árbol, and aji mojo. Cooked to a perfect medium rare and extremely tender and exploding with flavor. The most expensive item of our dinner at $48 and worth it. A large portion that fed four of us.

I remedied that with my friend the other night. I would give Black Market 4.5 stars honestly. Great food! My friend loves her lobster rolls and she said this lobster roll is the best one she's ever had! I don't like lobster rolls that much but I had a bite and it was amazing! I think everything we had was terrific. The only thing that we didn't like were the fries that came with the steak. I did not get those at all. We should've just got regular fries. I think these were called Yucca fries, which I thought were gonna be like sweet potato fries, they were not. I don't know what they were made of, but it was like a fake french fry. Weird. Their clarified cocktail was fantastic. My friends nonalcoholic drink she thought was just OK. The decor of the place I loved. I loved that barrel brick roof. And our server was very nice and explained so many things to us. We'll definitely go back again. Glad to have a go to spot like this in the valley that I don't get to that much.
