I am very pleased with this place. I have never taken my Fur-baby to a board in care or a doggie day care. I was very concerned about leaving him for four days. We had NEVER been apart that long since the day we decided to adopt him. The staff was very nice and loving with Rufus. They were even nice about me and my husband texting to see how he was doing and oblige us with pictures.. We Were Loyal Customers... Until Our Dog Got Sick -- three times and owners got too greedy and dishonest. I don't write reviews that often, but after multiple negative experiences with The Furshire and serious health issues involving our dog, I feel compelled to share. We were actually regular clients at The Furshire for quite a while -- boarding, daycare, playgroups -- the whole package. It felt convenient and social for our dog, and we genuinely wanted to believe they cared. But unfortunately, that trust has been completely eroded. Over the course of our time using their services, our dog contracted kennel cough twice. The first time, we brushed it off -- it happens. But the second time? That's when we really started questioning their health and sanitation protocols. Then came the separate and far more serious issue: our dog contracted a respiratory virus after another stay, which led to permanent lung damage. Yes, permanent. Watching our dog struggle to breathe comfortably after what should've been a routine boarding stay was devastating. Beyond the health concerns, The Furshire has become increasingly overpriced, and we've experienced multiple instances of dishonest billing -- being charged for more days than our actual reservation, vague explanations when questioned, and a general lack of accountability. It honestly started to feel like money was their priority, not our pet's well-being. The last few times we walked in, the facility reeked so strongly of bleach that it was almost hard to breathe ourselves -- I can't imagine how overwhelming that must be for the animals stuck in it all day. Sanitization is important, of course, but that level of chemical exposure just raised even more red flags, especially after the respiratory issues. We gave The Furshire many chances. But after the repeated illnesses, long-term damage to our dog's health, and questionable business practices, we're done. I wish we had walked away sooner. If you're considering boarding or daycare here, please think twice -- and really weigh whether it's worth the risk. Now we bring our fur babies to Houndstown in Avondale and Furbabies resort and spa in Scottsdale. Gosh where do I start. This place has my heart and takes care of my beloved Thor which is a black labrador mix he is two years old and must say is very active. So when I was shopping around for a doggy daycare or as Furshire calls it social time for my handsome Thor. This marked all the right boxes, they take the time to get to know your four legged furry family. The initial process is rather lengthy but so worth it, they want to know us as they have been transparent with their processes on how they will take care of my Thor. When I schedule a social time Thor gets so excited when we get close to the facility. He loves the beautiful Team as I call them, you can tell they love what they do. A big plus they have a pool for the furry family which is a big plus for Thor ad he loves any body of water. He comes home so tired, so satisfied. This place is fantastic. My three dogs have been going here for almost three years now for both daycare and boarding. The dogs are always happy to run inside which is a true testament to the quality of care the staff provide. They get lots of play time and time at the pool. The facility is clean and well kept. Staff is friendly and cares for the dogs. I see some negative reviews about injuries and such, but that stuff happens in a group setting for dogs. The staff keeps you well informed if your dog has issues during their stay. They post photos of dogs playing on their Facebook so you can see that your dogs are having fun and getting exercise. This place was recommended to me by The Zoom Room as a place that could handle "special needs" dogs, so I booked an appt for a daycare and he was there the majority of the day. From what I could tell he was in a room the whole day, sometimes with staff. I expected them to take him out to run around some, just away from other dogs. When I asked if he got to play at all, their answer was "well the walk to the pool is really far and there are dogs barking and slamming on their doors". So he was really nervous and rambunctious when I picked him up. I had been considering boarding him there if that first visit went well, but not anymore! Especially reading a lot of negative reviews about how the place has changed and isn't good anymore, also how bleach is used all over and cleaning practices are not safe. Really disappointed was hoping to find a good place for my pup to go from time to time. They also gave me zero information about his day, potty activity, eating, NOTHING. Nice staff but super vague and I was not expecting that. Also when I booked the appt, I expected them to call and notice he was a new pup, and go over his info and welcome us or something, that didn't happen. We sent our 15-month-old German Shepherd Dog to play group to get some wiggles out. He had a blast! He slept the whole drive home, so mission accomplished I really appreciate having a place that will accept intact males and that matches dogs to appropriate play groups. I loved being able to see pictures of him making new friends on social media. The staff was friendly and answered all of my questions. We started taking our dog here in 2020. It Was great until it wasn't. The original owner left. It's unfortunate for them that you cant ask questions about things that happen. We spent a good amount of money here. So If you "ask" too many questions about legitimate concerns, after Awhile they say you are Accusing them. I never accuse people, i ask first until i get facts. For example, why is my dog being sent back with food and meds when I gave the exact amount needed? There is more but i don't want to waste my time. They are a business, so maybe they don't realize you may have to deal with unsatisfied customers on occasion. However, It was easier for them to tell me not to come back. I even asked myself , was i too particular?Maybe, most dog owners are. However, I didn't feel so bad when i found out from a friend (who trains dogs in Phoenix) that she heard this place went down hill. I hope they improve for someone else. They also say they'll take pics of your dogs, post on FB but they have their favorites. If my dogs were acting up, they never told me.I hardly saw mine on their fb posts . If they dont want to take pics, they shouldn't offer it. Pretty simple. The pool was a nice feature but surrounding area always looked dirty. I hope they cleaned it up and they decide to service their customers concerns and not avoid them. I made things easy for them. I gave them sheets on myndogs "dos and don'ts"', prepackaged my dogs food and meds, the only thing they had to do was empty their food bag and let my dogs out. My dog was attacked by another dog while staying @ the Furshire. The owner and staff were negligent in his post care because they did not want to assume liability. The owner refused to take responsibility for this. I had to pay for his care at the vet $500. Do not bring your dog here. The owner is heartless and doesn't care about the dogs. read more

I highly recommend The Furshire. I felt very comfortable boarding my fur baby here from the time I called to schedule his stay. I have a very nervous boy who needs special handling, and i needed to board my baby at the last minute, and they were able to take him! They re assured me that they have protocols in place to make sure their staff and my baby would be safe. They updated me after a few hours that he was doing well and warming up to staff members. A now former frequent patron of here, I was completely accosted by an employee and directly accused of animal abuse, and was threatened to be reported for abuse, after politely letting the staff member know I fully understood her concerns (and scolding) about the length of my dogs nails. I really had no choice but to eventually interrupt the fourth simultaneous time she told me I needed to get them clipped more frequently upon picking up my dog. Ironically, I asked for them to trim the nails a few weeks prior during a stay, and they failed to do so, but now it's animal abuse that I asked again during the next boarding, because they were so long. If given the opportunity to speak, I could've told her we also called our vet as well to have them clipped but they were booked out for all appointments (see attached email). This was honestly the most unprofessional, apoplectic employee experience I've ever had within any business to consumer setting. In addition to this above, the previous boarding we were presented with a dog, blazing red with skin allergies, after his visit. I was told that we should let them know if he can have Benadryl, as they would've given it to him. Hmmmm...maybe call us and ask that question given his circumstance? Oddly enough, I didn't throw a tantrum and accuse them of animal abuse. But that is precisely the behavior one employee will display if you cross her path and don't allow her to repeatedly verbally assault you. That being said, as someone who is a huge animal lover and someone who loves my dog more than anything, I've never been so offended. It was like being victimized and then being accused as the assailant. I hope this feedback helps you as you determine where and whom you allow to care for your pets while you are out of town. I clearly suggest searching elsewhere. If you're wondering we've had to board our boy so many times, my wife has terminal Huntington's Chorea disease, and we have to travel to San Diego La Jolla as she's enrolled in a clinical trial at UCSD research center. My wife tried to explain them, even in her state of physical limitation, that we've been trying to get his nails done, but she too was interrupted rudely. We recently boarded our little Maltese for the very first time in her six years. We kind of baby that dog, usually taking her with us on trips, but we were traveling out of the country for a few days so we decided to try this place since we thought she might like some company while away.Our friends, who have a big retriever they love a lot, board him here and gave us the recomendation. We checked out the facility and saw that while they take all kinds of dogs, (even hard to handle pets), and there were more large dogs then small, they keep them segragated by size and disposition. The staff all seemed caring and responsible, and they keep close tabs with lots of monitored cameras and personal attention. We provided food and feeding instructions and when we picked her up after a few days she seemed happy and none the worse for wear, to our great relief. All in all a good experience read more

I am a former employee of the Furshire. I just so happened to come across the reviews. I'm so shocked to see that people are still brining their dogs here. Despite the "lovely" reviews The way they handle your animals and clean up is ridiculous. Bleach and beach towels were used to clean up pet waste. Hence why dogs are getting kennel cough and or other illnesses. I am a firm believer in safety and health precautions and there was little to none taken at this location. Employees have no say there at all. I mentioned drains were safer and more efficient way to clean and they told me with a chuckle it was "too expensive". Going against my value for animals and myself was not something I was going to do. I hope this helps anyone who has issues and or is looking for a boarding/ hotel. **WARNING** Under no circumstance should you bring your pet here if you care about them. What they did to my dog amounts to neglect and animal abuse. I met with Brea the "new owner" (who's not really a owner at all) on Tuesday 9/6/22. I gave them the rundown on Sasha, the German Shepard in my care. I have them very strict instructions that under no circumstance can the bandage on her paw get wet at all. I didn't mention this just once but about 20 times. Sasha suffered severe burns on her front 2 paws and has been going through recovery since May with twice weekly bandage changes at the vet office, skin debridements, constant medications, etc. Not once have we had an issue with her dressings getting wet. Within the last month we've made progress that her left paw no longer needs to be bandaged and her right paw only needs to be changed weekly. Sashas bandage was changed at the vet on 9/6/22 and I dropped her off at The Furshire Wednesday 9/7/22 and everything was fine. I picked Sasha up Tuesday 9/13/22 and we went right to a bandage change appointment at the vet where we discovered the horror that instructions were NOT followed what so ever. Sasha's bandage was SOAKING wet, all the progress we had made had been undone by The Furshire ignoring what I said. Her dressings soaked up water and she sat basically in soap gathering bacteria and infection. See attached before pictures and after pictures. I called Wednesday 9/14/22 and spoke to a Manager, didn't get the guys name and he told me Sasha knocked her bowl of water over. Here's the facts. The Furshire doesn't allow you to bring your own food and water bowls to the facility however because Sasha had such a large custom fit cone on I asked to bring hers because she has a raised bowl that she can reach with the cone. She has never been able to knock it over once at home. Secondly she is heavily medicated so also not possible, third when I called him out on this Brea got on the phone and said a tiny bit of water did spill and she noticed it right away. She put a towel under the bowl and even checked with the staff to make sure that it had remained there afterward. The entire facility is on camera so I asked to see it and she refused, said I would need to go legal. The Furshire screwed up, plain and simple and all they had to do was acknowledge that and refund my entire stay. Now I will be taking them to small claims court and going after them for not only my entire stay but future medical bills since I'm now looking at months of twice a week bandage changes. read more

My grandsons dog was attacked by another dog while in their day care. They refused to accept any responsibility for their failure to supervise and fell back on language on the contract that they are not responsible for your pets safety. Beware of the lack of supervision as it is your pets safety at risk. His dog required stitches and they are unwilling to accept ownership and pay the vet expenses. It is their responsibility to provide a safe environment and they failed to provide that basic minimum. read more

I have brought my two dogs here for almost three years. It was nice in the beginning and it went really down here recently. The owner got greedy and kept jacking up on pricing. Every couple months you would see a new receptionist. You have to introduce your dogs to her. The owner was very weird when she talked to me, asking me why didn't I smiled more?!? I was like what? None of your business. My dog, Snow she got canine respiratory virus from here and now she doesn't breathe normally anymore. It's permanently damaged her lungs. The last boiling point was when we dropped my two dogs off for the weekend boarding from Friday and pick them up on Sunday. I asked the receptionist why don't you charge us for two boarding days which are Friday and Saturday nights; we pick them up on Sun should consider as playgroup. She did not try to help. She wanted to charge $300 instead of $255. The dogs didn't stay over for Sun so how did you want to charge us $100?? It's fraud, cheat and pure greed. read more

We've been taking our 3-year-old dog Frankie to the Furshire for about 1.5 years now. She's gone to both playgroup and boarding during that time. She absolutely loves it, and the staff at the Furshire do a great job with her. The staff is always kind and let's us know if there are any issues with Frankie while she is there. I have used the Furshire for many years and they have been wonderful. I have used them for day camp and boarding. I have referred many clients to them and as a business owner, I have spoken to and was very impressed by the owner, Jeannine. I was so impressed by their ability to handle and their attention to dog behavior. I once again referred out of town friends to the facility as I've done. After boarding 2 dogs for 5 days, they picked them up thinking everything was good. Their lab started howling in pain when he was touched by his ear. They called to see if anything happened. He eventually got a call back letting him know that his dog was bitten by a pit bull. They took him to a vet, had him treated.They had to stay in town longer because of this. He was told the girl in charge was "struggling ". His phone calls were then avoided. After calling from another number, he was finally told they would pay half. It was NOT about the $300.00. I tried to get in touch with Jeannine and was told to just email mgt. I'm sure she NEVER saw my email. I understand that incidents like this happen. You would think that they would just run him around the corner to be checked out. (Emergency Pet Clinic). I was struggling to find a place where my dog wouldn't be restricted to a room because of her breed and be able to be out playing all day until I found the Furshire. I have used the Furshire many times for play group and boarding on multiple occasions for my American Staffordshire terrier. I would board my dog for at least 3-4 days at a time when going out of town. I am that annoying person that checks in constantly and was texting them A LOT. They responded in a timely manner every time and made sure I felt reassured about my dog being boarded. They did try to tell me that I could look for pictures of my dog on Facebook when i was boarding for the first time but since I was a bit worried and told them no I want an update of my dog, they gladly sent me some pictures. After the first time of boarding, I wasn't worried anymore and trusted them and would just check Facebook when I wanted to see what my pup was up to. My puppy is high energy and can be a handful but she always came home exhausted from how much fun she had here! I was a little put out one time I dropped her off for boarding and they didn't have the right type of cage reserved for her that she needed because she chews but this was also a time they were extremely busy and during the holidays. Even though there have been a few things they could do better on, I hands down would keep going here if I hadn't moved out of state. The Furshire is phenomenal. The staff are so cheerful, positive, and communicative. Our dog was a very tough case with extreme social anxiety. Three other daycares had turned her away, but the Furshire took her with open arms. They have helped to make a dramatic change in her life for the better. She can walk by kids, men, and cars now without trying to turn around and run away. They really know what they are doing and are so patient with our sweet girl. I just wanted to share our terrible experience with The Furshire I left my 2 female standard poodles for 6 days and during the time one of them mated with the owners dog. We were informed of the incident days after it happened (have all txt messages). The staff was clearly not watching the dogs, we asked for accountability on their part and was told the owner of the dog which is the owner of The Furshire would be calling. She did call (01/16/2021) and did not take accountability at all, instead blamed us. She kept talking about how expensive her dog was and how she had purchase him for breeding purposes and had paid an additional 2K. She was nasty, unprofessional, and had no empathy about the situation. I did not consent to breeding, I trusted this place with my dogs and all the owner did was bragged about how amazing her dog is and how proud she was of him. This place is amazing! I was super worried about my pit shar pei mix being boarded there after a pet sitter backed out for him being "unpredictable". I took both of my dogs there for a trial run "daycare" which was awesomely priced. Everyone there was great. They understood my fears and assured me that everything would be ok. When I came to pick them up I got a detailed report on what they did and how he behaved around humans and other dogs and that they were comfortable snuggling him and not over stimulating him. Huge thanks to the Furshire for taking such fantastic care of my dog Chiclet while I was on vacation! They were referred to me by the rescue group where I got my puppy and I'm so glad I found them. My 7 month old pup is recovering from hip surgery and had never been boarded, but I need a place for her during a work trip. My dogs LOVE daycare here. So much now that if they miss a week they mope and whine until they can go back and play. The only place my energetic husky wants to go to and the only place that actually gets her tired! I also boarded with them recently, and the experience could not have been better. Took our fur baby to The Furshire for a night - she's not a fan of kennels or strangers (skittish but sweet). A previous kennel experience elsewhere had left her traumatized for a couple of days and she even came home with the sniffles - so we were a little worried about leaving her again, but The Furshire was awesome. Our pup was her normal, happy and excited self when we picked her up. I think she might've really enjoyed herself, maybe made some new doggie friends! sent my pet here for a weekend stay, as he is an anxious dog when it comes to boarding and they made the claim that they were good with animals with anxiety. while telling us that they would provide updates of my pup both on facebook and via text message, i was led to an impression that communication would be strong between me and the people who i was trusting with my dog. i did not receive a single photo or update the entire weekend. when i contacted them in hopes of receiving an update they told me that they were "busy" but continued to post photos on their facebook. none of these photos gave any clue to the status of my pup, nor did it do anything to update me on his situation. throughout the dogs entire stay there was no communication whatsoever, and they did not prioritize me or my dog, a new client, over posting photos on social media. i would recommend looking elsewhere when it comes to dog boarding if you want to have basic communication with the sitters read more
