The many times I have been here, I always order the same thing because it's delicious. I didn't order a steak and clam chowder even though I know it's yummy. I tried their Shrimp Scampi Over Pasta. It was yummy. I am one of those that likes the pasta a bit al dente and they don't cook it that way here but I am okay with that. As long as it wasn't over cooked. The shrimp was cooked perfectly. I also got the garlic bread appetizer. Crispy and yummy. I loved it. My fiance ordered the steamed clams. He used to share them with my mom. My mom used to say the best part was the broth they serve with it. It was good. My fiance really likes it.

This is a solid 3 star restaurant. It's Santa Monica's oldest restaurant which says something about its consistency since 1934 with its customers. You know what to expect. The food is going to be okay. It's nothing amazing but it's still good. It's like your favorite comfort Mexican food restaurant only this one is surf and turf. I thought the chowder was pretty bland and too big. Would have liked a cup. Even the baked potatoes were butter and sour cream. Pretty basic. The cocktails were good as well and the servers were very nice. The selling point is the vibe. This is just an old school joint that you can tell the older customers have been coming here since they were kids.

We came across The Galey by accident, and I'm glad we did! We were actually playing a game where we only eat from food trucks, but funny enough, we couldn't find any that day (even though we usually see them all the time). So we decided to give this place a try instead and it ended up being a win. The vibe of this spot is really cool, with a fun atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while. Seating is limited the place looks a bit small but luckily we didn't have to wait long to get a table. The food was great overall, and we're definitely planning to come back. Our server recommended the clam chowder, and while it was good, I wouldn't say it was the best I've ever had. Still enjoyable, though! We also ordered the shrimp scampi, crab cakes, and calamari everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. My adventure partner especially loved the crab cakes and calamari, and said they were fantastic. All in all, this place was a pleasant surprise, and I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for good seafood and a great vibe. We'll be back for sure!

Fresh tuna all gone in one bite. We end up ordering the bone marrow with short rib, hamachi crudo, Wagyu meatball. It was perfect portions of food for both of us. The bone marrow with short rib is nothing to skip! Omgoodnesss that bone marrow was seasoned well and on point. Best bone marrow I've had in a long time! Short rib was so tender and went so well with the bone marrow and mini crostini bread. We definitely killed this. No one should ever miss out on this in any Boa. We even had this in Vegas and it's really their signature dish. The Wagyu meatball was also delish. Nice fatty flavor. Hamachi crudo was light, fresh, and tasty. The ultimate star of the end of the show was this sticky toffee pudding cake with salted caramel ice cream. I've had sticky toffee pudding in other steakhouses and restaurants. The best I've had was at Hell's Kitchen; however that was put to shame after having this here at Boa! The bartenders were saying that the English chef used his family recipe on this one. By GOLLY WIZ, it was absolutely exquisite! The cake was super fluffy, warm, and not dense like others I've had. It wasn't too sweet and it went so well with the salted caramel ice cream. Absolutely heavenly. This will take #1 in my book. Service here was amazing! Ryan and Mark at the bar were so nice and always checking up on us. Great customer service and very welcoming! I love how the menu had nonalcoholic options. I got the margarita nonalcoholic which actually tasted pretty decent!! Without the extra calories and sugar. Ambiance is casual/dressy. Happy hour is 5-6pm. Great options. Random Tip of etiquette: Don't ask the waiter to order off the happy hour menu for your friends coming late when it's passed 15min after happy hour. It's so tacky in a higher end restaurant. I can't believe locals do this. Don't go to high end restaurants than if you plan to be cheap. Just saying.

We had what I believe was a 7PM reservation and got seated right away on a Saturday night inside an absolutely stunning restaurant. It's on the darker side in here (which I personally like), is absolutely massive with both indoor and outdoor seating, and had such a friendly staff I now personally consider our waiter a family member and my new Uncle. The menu here has a a great selection of french dishes, pasta dishes, appetizers, and desserts to top it off (even though I was too stuffed for that). For an appetizer the table ordered the Pan Con Tomate with Prosciutto and even though it's not something I would of personally picked, I did enjoy the small amount I had. For a main course I went with one of my favourite dishes of all time, Steak Frites! Massilia did not skimp on portions here or kill you with price. The steak itself was served with an absolutely amazing chimichurri sauce and a boat load of french fries. Every aspect of the plate was incredible and for $32? Yeah, I'll be coming back in the future. The steak was served rare and was absolutely mouth watering while the french fries were crispy and had great flavour. Overall, Massilia was perfect choice for dinner and an absolute gem in Santa Monica. The atmosphere and restaurant were amazing, the staff was delightful, and the food was perfect. I couldn't recommend this place more if I wanted too, I'll definitely be back in the future!
