Really great place for food and drinks here in Silverton ! Almost as good as your break for drinks but better food

The tap list was impressive for such a small town, but that was the only good part. We had four different waiters coming over to our table over the course of the evening, although one was lost and came to our table by accident. We ordered an appetizer that took 20 mins to arrive, and let me tell you about it: it was a hot Swiss cheese dip with bread and apple for $13. Sounds good, right? Wrong. It was a 4oz ramekin of cheese sauce that had developed a layer of film over the top (it was liquid and room temp). It had a quarter of a Granny Smith apple next to it that had browned. It came with cold and mangled sausage that had clearly been cut hours earlier and reheated in a microwave. The bread tasted like par-baked store bought bread that never finished baking. And it came with undercooked mushrooms that look like they had been factory cut and left to get warm by absorbing the heat of the microwaved sausage. It was gross... And expensive. Not bad cheeseburger sliders... Only had to wait 25 minutes for them on a slow Sunday afternoon. Asked for fries and the guy snapped at me saying there didn't serve fries only chips. I said alright some chips then. My meal came and no chips. The waiters are too busy flirting with the girls behind the bar than paying attention to customers. Tried this out based on other reviews and wasn't disappointed. The halibut fish and chips were excellent and plenty for the wife and I to share. We also tried the chicken curry soup, while it had a good curry flavor it was a bit weak on overall taste. Easy to recommend the restaurant based on overall meal experience. read more

Everything about this place was great! The food selection, the beer selection, the cider selection. The quality of food, the quality of service. The atmosphere. I had the Gallon Dip with chef's choice soup which was a broccoli chowder with bacon. You could tell that the soup was homemade with quality ingredients and fresh. We sat on the patio and Liz took great care of us! She was attentive and friendly. Even though she was somewhat new, she was still very knowledgeable and answered all of our endless California tourist questions. She was willing to say when she didn't know the answers, but got the information for us. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting the area for sure! My husband and I are area locals and were pretty darn excited to try this place. First impressions... great downtown location, great long hours, super cute place. Aesthetically... this place is pretty cute. Our waitress seemed sweet, a lil scatter brained but she was ok. We asked about a few things with beverages and she had no answers so we kinda giggled and ordered a root beer and a lemonade. My lemonade came, goodness I was thirsty, and to my sad surprise it was literally Sour Mix and water.... no lemon. I was so thirsty I drank it and got a stomach ache lol have you ever drunken 16 oz of sour mix? So, whatever I don't feel like complaining. So we order the Korean Bbq salad wrap appetizer. It's delivered... the lettuce was soooo wilted you had to use a fork to eat them. I was expecting a fresher, tastier treat for $11 for 3 wraps. So we ate one wrap each and the waitress came and asked how they taste and we said ok... she just instantly stacked the plates and took the 3rd wrap away. My husband and I just silently looked at each other in awe. Well then ok I guess we were done with that. Shortly after that our meals were brought out. He ordered the prime rib dip and it looked delicious. I ordered the pretzel burger and it too looked yummy. But again... the lettuce. It was actually hot... way too soft and wilted. I asked for no tomatoes anywhere. They put tomatoes on my salad and the waitress told me.. she used her bare fingers to move the tomatoes off of my salad to the side of the plate and said sorry. WTF ok. What if I were allergic? So apparently they need to work on their lettuce and salad issues. Maybe they are trying to pre prep the salads... whatever, they need to figure something else out cause that wasn't working at all. My burger was decent, my husband said his was pretty good. The waitress asked me if I wanted a drink refill I said no thank you, it's not lemonade it's sour mix... she just walked away. I wanted to flip out but I had a long day and I had been listening to the girl explain to every other table around us why the other waitress wasn't available. So all in all... I had higher hopes for this place. We decided that our review is 'almost good'...'but not quite'. It looked like they had a nice bar.. we weren't drinking. I had a good cubano sandwich my only complaint is that the roasted pork wasn't shredded very well and I had some bites with too much roasted pork to chew, but otherwise it was a very tasty sandwich. Great nachos. Amazing jalapeño bacon macaroni, we added sausage and it was great. I had the wrangler sandwich. Food was hot, came quickly and staff was pleasant. Every time I drive by there always seems to be lots of people in the joint, so I finally tried it out. The beer list is ok very ipa heavy. The food was mediocre and priced a little high for what you get. The only reason they appear packed is because service is EXTREMELY slow! Took over an hour to get food, and the waitress was only able to come by twice to get beers. I recommend getting a growler and filling your own glass, maybe bring food with you as well lol. read more

We go to Gallon House at least once a week and have never been disappointed. They have a great selection of micro-brews and very good specials for pub food such as Monday night wings for 25 cents. Stopped in here after a hike at Silver Falls, greeted and seated right away. Ordered sodas and lunch, then read the reviews on Yelp and got very worried, like I wanted to leave before our food got here worried. But I stayed quiet and waited patiently for a disaster to occur... Luckily no disaster! Our food arrived as ordered and tasted great! Cubano sandwich, Pear and Nut salad, Grilled Chicken with Asparagus entrée and Cheeseburger Sliders, so glad I didn't give up too soon. Our waitress checked on us several times, refilled our drinks as requested even when not requested, I simply can't find any faults with any part of our experience. Had a great time! We were greated very quickly. We were offered a few beer tasters which is nice so that we didn't have to ask. They have a solid tap list selection! Server was very attentive and the food was awesome. The pulled pork was great and the sweet potato fries were awesome. My husband had the blackened burger with a turkey patty and the potato barrels. My husband enjoyed the gallon house burger and my hot wings weren't too spicy, just how I liked them despite that they were slightly dry. We went in during trivia night and it made the ambience fun and welcoming. If you're looking for a private experience you might want to go elsewhere. People are friendly and it got loud in there, which to us made for a fun night! The service was a little slow but the server was slammed, and clearly the place looked understaffed. The Gallon house is a great place to hang out in Silverton. They have probably the best beer selection in town, and a fun environment to hang out in. (If the weather is nice, the patio is a great place to either hang out with friends or create a great lunchtime workspace with your laptop.) The food is decent -- not stellar, but definitely good pub fare. I recommend either the daily stuffed burger, or the Gallon house Greek Salad with Gyro meat. read more

My husband and I stopped in around 6pm on a weekday. It was exactly what we needed at the time; quick food service and a great burger. I had the pulled pork sliders - not too messy and very tasty! My husband had a burger that he was happy with as well. We sat outside, which was great for the warm day, but the view of the parking lot took away from the look and feel of the place. Only negative - our server was very distracted by a table of 3 gentlemen who appeared to be locals; it took too long for her to remember to bring us our bill. Disappointing. Sub par food but a good drink/beer menu. Had the chicken with bourbon demi glacé with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal veggie. Boring. Bland. No flavor in sauce, tasted like a gravy packet. Not even a hint of garlic in the potatoes. Veggies were baby carrots like the kind in a bag from the grocery store.
