Maiden Voyage Stout by For Tomorrow We Die Brewery
Rod G.

Stopped in for an unplanned dinner. Although the bartender was very busy (working alone) he greeted us promptly and told us to sit anywhere. Chose a couple drinks to start with had a tasty cider and I chose the Maiden Voyage Stout. Brewed locally. For our meals my wife chose the salmon with Brussels sprouts and potatoes and I chose the Pork Belly Tacos. My wife really enjoyed her meal. The Pork Belly Tacos were probably the best I have ever had. The sauce was flavorful and very tasty. Overall we were very pleased with our experience. We will come back.

We were looking for a dinner spot on our way back home to Eugene from a day hike at Silver Falls. As usual, I "yelped" a spot and Angel Share came up with high ratings. We tried it and, as has ALWAYS been the case, Yelp did not fail us. We had a Church Burger, Chicken Sandwich, Guava Cider and Hazy IPA. The food and drinks were great. We each had the Chipotle Corn Salad as our side and it was AWESOME! Great food, great service! We give it five stars!

Biscuits and gravy floating in grease, look at the puddle around my knife and the entire edge of the plate..

Well, sadly we had a less than great experience at this restaurant. We arrived to an almost empty place (one other table), to find a very nice young lady as the waitress. Unfortunately nice isn't all that is required of a good server; she hasn't washed her server's apron in weeks it is covered with nasty dried food from wiping her fingers and serving. The waitress was wearing black leggings and a black sweatshirt that were covered in dog or cat hair. I love our two dogs, but also aware when I leave the home what is acceptable especially in food service. The owner or manager (bearded guy) sat at the bar and could barely pull his head up from his phone propped against his coffee cup to actually manage his business and look at staff attire and food coming out of the kitchen. He might as well stay at home if he's not going to make an effort to look at quality, greet customers, and operate a business. Now to the food.... The cook (definitely not chef) sent out a pile of molten grease filled plate as his idea of biscuits and gravy. I have never seen a plate with so much grease on it actually handed to the customer as their meal. Wow! How do you look at this plate and think it's ok to send out? How does the owner set there not paying attention to the grease pile that just walked by him and how does the server look at this and think it's good to serve? Epic fail! The wife had the "American" breakfast which is a classic bacon and eggs, the cook basically rookie at cooking eggs and had his grill temp too high, so the egg whites were a little like cellophane. I cannot even classify this guy as a cook. It's shameful the quality of this food... there are two places in town to get breakfast Turnaround Cafe and this place, sadly we made a bad choice trying to support this place. The building is awesome, but there is zero pride of ownership outside this place, weeds over growing. If it wasn't for the 8' tall open banner you would think this building was abandoned. Another place that is likely to fail if this is how they operate other meals regularly. We will not be going back.

Came here with friends and family. What cool spot. Pretty neat old church building. Lots of good beer to drink and good food to stuff in your face hole. The place is clean and family friendly. What more do you need to know. You need a beer or some grub stop here.

Great food... but overall service was slow, inaccurate and seemingly disinterested. One person who I thought might be a manager tried to make up for it at the end. This is my second time here. The good has always been good and the service spotty. Just be ready to wait for service.

Glad it is reopened and has been here twice. I like the new booths added, and I think the space looks great. The tribute in the back of the menu is a nice touch. We went twice to get the burger and drinks the first time. The second time had the meatloaf. Service is good; it's still at the soft opening stage, so looking forward to the addition of breakfast and more.

We went here just on a whim. I am glad we did. Not the best looking outside but amazing atmosphere…read moreinside. The have 2 outdoor seating areas, one that allows smoking and one that does not. We sat out in the non smoking. Our waitress was great at checking in and making light conversations. She was natural at it and it didn't feel like she was checking in to much. The beers are good pricing and they had some good choices, a variety and a little something for everyone. As for food, I got the black and blue bacon burger and it was amazing. Juicy and not skimpy on the toppings. The fries were crispy and delicious. My husband got the nachos and let me tell you, it's enough for 2-3 people!!! The toppings were mixed through out the nachos and the salsa was homemade and not too spicy. We will be definitely coming back.

We orders the World Famous Cheese Burger (with the title I expected more) -1/2lb Angus beef, with mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, hamburger relish, lettuce, tomato & onion. $14.95. This burger was about as basic as it gets. It would be good for older or younger crowds that like bland food. The burger patty looked pretty but tasted uneventful. We didn't get hamburger relish but we did get a ton onions. This burger could have used a special sauce or something. The only sauce they provided was mayo and not much of it. We opted for a salad and not fries. The salad was fresh and plentiful.

Went here while on a work trip and the food was phenomenal…read more It's an order and pay at the counter then get your food when it's ready kind of bar atmosphere. Super friendly staff. Their ciders are great, I tried the Viking Cherry Cider and loved it so much I bought a six pack to take home, at $18 for 6 it was still absolutely well worth it. For food my coworker got the Fish and Chips, deep fried in beef tallow for those who avoid seed oils, and said it was excellent. I had a caesar salad and fries to go with my cider and it was a lovely meal. This will absolutely be one of our go-to spots when in Salem from now on.

The inside atmosphere is sports bar fabulous plenty of seating for groups or couples. We shared a juicy hazy IPA and an order of scotch eggs while sitting on the patio, which is shaded and comfortable with both picnic tables and bar-top seating. I was thrilled to find that the scotch eggs were not only delicious but also authentically prepared. The yolk was soft and slightly runny, and the crust was perfectly crisp and flavorful. This establishment is a true hidden gem. While the food prices are a little steep, the quality definitely makes it worthwhile. We will be back!
