Sunday afternoon we went to this restaurant. The ambiance is a restored 1891 church with plenty of photos and beautiful antique lamps. The beer selection was ample and the menu offered a variety for everyone. We settled on the burger and chicken sandwich. Both were flavorful and the fries were delicious. We drove around looking for food on Easter Sunday finding this little gem! We were greeted right away, seated and ordered great food. We didn't feel like fast foods and this food was great, salmon and mixed green salad loaded with cherry tomatoes, olives, peppers and more. Stopped in for an unplanned dinner. Although the bartender was very busy (working alone) he greeted us promptly and told us to sit anywhere. Chose a couple drinks to start with had a tasty cider and I chose the Maiden Voyage Stout. Brewed locally. For our meals my wife chose the salmon with Brussels sprouts and potatoes and I chose the Pork Belly Tacos. My wife really enjoyed her meal. The Pork Belly Tacos were probably the best I have ever had. The sauce was flavorful and very tasty. Overall we were very pleased with our experience. We will come back. read more

The food was amazing, loved the atmosphere and our waitress, well she made our first time there great. She was very friendly and checked on us frequently. I loved that I could joke with her and she got it, example: When I was typing her name in my phone and she spelled it for me, auto correct changed it to Roland, Her name is Eolana. She laughed and said that happens all the time, when we walked out, I looked over at her and said "by Roland" and we both cracked up I wanted to make sure she got some kudos. We were looking for a dinner spot on our way back home to Eugene from a day hike at Silver Falls. As usual, I "yelped" a spot and Angel Share came up with high ratings. We tried it and, as has ALWAYS been the case, Yelp did not fail us. We had a Church Burger, Chicken Sandwich, Guava Cider and Hazy IPA. The food and drinks were great. Food was subpar. The burger was clearly a frozen patty out of a box. It had the obvious cookie cutter shape/cut lines. I asked for medium, but it was pretty rare. Service was garbage. Arrived at 7:20pm to a pretty empty restaurant(one table showed up after us. The restaurant was not even half filled)... our food came out around 9pm....OVER AN HOUR AND A HALF LATER!!?? 2 stars because the Old Fashion was decent. Wouldn't go back or recommend. read more

Well, sadly we had a less than great experience at this restaurant. We arrived to an almost empty place (one other table), to find a very nice young lady as the waitress. Unfortunately nice isn't all that is required of a good server; she hasn't washed her server's apron in weeks it is covered with nasty dried food from wiping her fingers and serving. The waitress was wearing black leggings and a black sweatshirt that were covered in dog or cat hair. I love our two dogs, but also aware when I leave the home what is acceptable especially in food service. The owner or manager (bearded guy) sat at the bar and could barely pull his head up from his phone propped against his coffee cup to actually manage his business and look at staff attire and food coming out of the kitchen. He might as well stay at home if he's not going to make an effort to look at quality, greet customers, and operate a business. Now to the food.... The cook (definitely not chef) sent out a pile of molten grease filled plate as his idea of biscuits and gravy. I have never seen a plate with so much grease on it actually handed to the customer as their meal. Wow! How do you look at this plate and think it's ok to send out? How does the owner set there not paying attention to the grease pile that just walked by him and how does the server look at this and think it's good to serve? Epic fail! The wife had the "American" breakfast which is a classic bacon and eggs, the cook basically rookie at cooking eggs and had his grill temp too high, so the egg whites were a little like cellophane. I cannot even classify this guy as a cook. It's shameful the quality of this food... there are two places in town to get breakfast Turnaround Cafe and this place, sadly we made a bad choice trying to support this place. The building is awesome, but there is zero pride of ownership outside this place, weeds over growing. If it wasn't for the 8' tall open banner you would think this building was abandoned. Another place that is likely to fail if this is how they operate other meals regularly. We will not be going back. read more

I don't like leaving bad reviews, but this was the worst service I have had in over 10 years. The building is magnificent. Beautiful inside. Little to no parking, and I was not expecting stairs. My husband occasionally drives by the place, we decided based on the menu online. I don't think any of the items from Yelp were actually available. Our server was horrible. We were a party of 3, my husband and I placed our drink order. Another server/bartender came up 5-10 minutes later and asked if we wanted to order. We said the other server took our drink order. 5-10 minutes later server #1came back and said she forgot our drink order, so we reordered. I believe we asked about our drinks 3 times before we got them. Our friend showed up and she asked for a Spanish coffee. Server #1 told her the can't make that. Ok. Interesting. Server leaves. Eventually she comes back friend ordered a White Russian, sever says she in not sure they have cream. Friend just asks to check and if they don't she would order something else. Placed our food order we ordered the happy hour burger and friend ordered the Caesar salad. Husband and I placed another round of drinks. Server #1 comes back and said they didn't have chicken for the salad, friend did not order chicken. But this is Saturday around 4:00 pm, they don't have chicken? Food shows up and we ask about our drinks and she forgot to put in the order again! I was just blown away by this server! The food was meh. Bartender and drinks were great. We stopped here on our way back from hiking in Silver Falls State Park. Cute little town of Turner. The restaurant itself was closed, but in the back of this historic building is their food cart and open air patio. Covered partly by a tent, multiple spaced apart tables to sit, heaters. Well decorated with (fake) plants hahaha. The ordering was a bit confusing: if you want it to go, then you order at the food truck. If you want to eat/drink on the patio, you order at your table. You scan the QR code that is on that table (for those of us not so tech savvy: just open your phone on the camera setting and point it over the black&white square code) and this will bring up the menu for food as well as drinks. Order straight from your phone, pay per phone and the order magically will appear at your table a few minutes later....like magic really. LOVE it, so much easier, one good thing that has happened in the pandemic.... They have a nice selection of drinks, beers and cocktails. And pub grub food. We had lemonade which was great. Boneyard Skunk Ale APA (yes, not ipa), a red ale and wonderful delicious sweet potatoes waffled fries with excellent maple bbq sauce. They let you select your sauce, your size of your beer etc. Very well done. The waiter/busboy/food truck server was super helpful since we tried to order at the truck and he directed us the right way, all with the patience of an angel (get it??). It's absolutely gorgeous inside, and I think it's hilarious that an old church is now a tap house lol. Food was amazing (ordered off the happy hour menu), the beer on tap was great. The guy serving us (slightly older fella, had a beard) ran both the bar and table service, and was still polite, funny, friendly, and did his best to check on us as often as he could. The food was great. The wife and I ordered the Mac and cheese, nachos and hamburger from the happy hour menu. My wife really liked the hamburger but I put it behind the Mac and cheese and the nacho. For the price, it was great. They have A wide selection of beers and ciders. Additionally they have a full bar. The ambiance is great. Music is as at a good volume and the place is decorated well especially considering it was an old church. We set next to the stained glass window. Overall, service is very good as well. Wonderful breakfast and setting - will make this a routine for breakfast - good one for everyone to enjoy

I want to rate them higher, because the food that I've had is pretty good. However, there have been a number of disappointments both times I've visited. 1. The service is very slow & not particularly attentive. Tonight's visit was during trivia night, so it was busier than usual, but even so we waited over an hour to get our food after we ordered, & our appetizer arrived just a few minutes before our meal. Also, the order wasn't quite right (wrong sides). 2. Food selection is limited. Usually that's a sign that a restaurant focuses on what they do well, but I wish they did a few more things well. 3. Indoor seating is quaint and well-appointed, but outdoor seating feels like an unfinished afterthought. 4. The (required) online ordering system is awkward if you have any questions at all or want to make special requests. I've seen lots of online ordering systems, & this is a very good one, but service staff should be more helpful when they are required. Also, very few drinks have any description, so ordering them online is basically a crapshoot. Also, "suggesting" to include gratuity before the meal is gauche and presumptive. On neither visit have I felt that my service was worth as much as what I tipped. That said, the church burger is quite good, and the chicken sandwich is also good. My wife really enjoyed the fry-bread tacos (only available Tuesday & Wednesday). My son liked the ribs, and they were fine, but I didn't think they were special. Good selection of beers and ciders. Tl;dr - good ideas, poor execution. Probably won't be back unless I hear their service has improved and they have added more variety to the menu. read more

With the idea of being in an old church, the place should have exuded some of that authenticity, but failed to hit that level. It just feels like a weird bar that happens to have a cool stained glass window. Funny story: walked in the door on a random Saturday afternoon and were the only ones in there. Three servers and a manager gal greeted us and awkwardly told us that we'd get the best service ever because they were slow. No joke, we were the only ones in (sitting at the bar) and eating some of those overrated fries they have (that were waaaay too spicy).... While we ate fries, all of them completely failed to notice that both of us had no waters and were all out of our first round of beers. The glasses were empty for ten long minutes waiting for one of them to give us some liquid to wash down the fries. read more

Small Business Sunday, I have a weakness for frybread. So full disclosure that was my draw to start. It's in a sleepy little town called turner just south east of Salem. The venue is open and unique considering the surrounding area. It's biggest challenge is parking. I see this as a great venue for live music but will need to find a way to accommodate a large crowd. Family friendly during the day. Take the road less travelled on this one for an opportunity to catch up or enjoy a piece of Oregon history. read more

Outside looks a bit run down, but inside is gorgeous. We are always looking for new brew pubs and tap houses and this was on our way north from the Corvallis area. Tap list and menus are brief but we were not disappointed! One stout (hubby loved it) and one orange infused IPA (very good, easy drinking with a nice hint of fresh orange and no bitterness). Ordered the Cold cut sandwich, which was turkey, avo, pickled onions and arugula on ciabatta. Hubby gave it a thumbs up. I had the meatloaf on ciabatta with pickled red cabbage and ketchup (homemade sauce??). Delicious! Fries were amazing. Sat outside (front) as we had our dog. Picnic tables are large but could use some love. Overall we thought it was great. Staff was welcoming and friendly, beer was good and food was great.
