This cute little market was like a love letter direct to my Bostonian, millennial, liberal heart. They have it all: delicious coffees, multicultural prepared foods like a homemade frozen tikka masala, bougie local meats and cheeses, trendy skincare products, Knick knacks and art from local artisans, global wine selections (and sake!), tasty pastries, loose bulk tea and spices, cbd products, and more. We were delighted to find so many tasty things to bring back to our cabin for a little Vermonter weekend away. I'd be a regular if I were in the area more often. Definitely recommend!! read more

Stopped in for coffee and was met with a young woman with brown hair that was so unfriendly. Then we order and she was downright rude... it made me not want to browse the store which was super cute and had so many cool things I would have looked at and possibly bought. We bought a house in the area and will never go back to this place. The one mandatory Yelp star goes to the older lady with white hair, as we were waiting for our coffee she came out and made sure we were being helped, night and day difference between the two. Looking at a review from last year with one star refers to what must be the same person being gold and unfriendly. Can't believe she is still there! I would highly recommend not going to this place. The food is pretty good but way overpriced and very small portions. The owner was extremely rude to my teenage daughter who merely asked if her soup could be heated up. (It was lukewarm) Honestly I think she has been working too long and has a distorted perception of teenagers. I wanted to buy a friend a pair of earrings and when I asked if they could be polished (they were quite tarnished) the owner said they were sold "as is". I love going into a quaint picturesque New England town and discovering a perfect little store that just fits in great. The selection of goods are what one would expect in a place like this. They have a good lunch menu with a decent vegetarian selection. They have a small little area of two tables for sitting down and eating. They also have local skincare products in one section. We were heading out of town after a long weekend and wanted a good local sandwich. Our first stop was at the deli that was 2 doors down...big mistake. Instead, we headed down the street to Garden Market. This place is awesome. Almost everything they carry is locally sourced. Part market, part deli, we opted to sit down for some sandwiches. Everything was made fresh to order and was well worth the short wait. Evidently there is a sign outside that tells you there is a 10%+ charge because of covid. ... seriously? I endeavor to shop local always and even though the prices are quite insanely high, we try to have lunch there every month or so. I'm certain they don't care about losing my business, but they have. A four dollar charge on a thirty six dollar bill? Just because? A veggie sandwich is $13. In Vermont. No chips or anything. And this time - no sauce that is in the description. So a dry sandwich was $13, the honor of buying it costs 10%+. We will not be back. And if you're a fan of The Body Lounge's Arnica - the whipped arnica is $10 cheaper on their site. I make sure to stop here at least once a trip since 2016. Good food...wraps, daily frittatas, extensive collection of healthy bulk items...the GF Ginger Boot strap granola is sooo good! A bag usually comes home every trip. This past visit, I tried their iced coffee...the best cup of joe I could find from here to Manchester. read more

You arrive in Londonderry and are hungry after a long trip on route 100, the first place you see is a diner and a market, you think great all I need is a bite. The market makes sandwiches but there is no place to sit you poke your head through a curtain and there is the diner, alas someone is sweeping the floor and you are told they just closed. Get going soon you will see the Garden Market. A doll's house of gourmet food. Every thing looks really good. We ordered 2 dishes that looked like quiche to me, they were called frittata. Wharever they were they were delicious served with a small side salad. I had lemon and leeks, the flavor of the lemon zest was unique. My husband had chevere with figs and the dish was slightly sweet. My husband also had a latte which he declared the best he had ever had. There is no price on anything so either you have to ask or order and take yor chances. Also dear travelers if you need to combine getting a bite with a pit stop...the latter is not available in the shop you have to go across the parking lot to a boutique and a restaurant that opens for dinner. read more

The food is excellent. The problem is actually receiving the food. We placed our order for a salad, sandwich, and 2 coffees. We then waited nearly an hour and still hadn't received our food. The two ladies behind the counter were taking orders and looked like they were working on something, but in the hour we waited, only one person actually received food. We had to get on our way and so we asked if the food could be taken to go. This seemed to frazzle them and took an additional 10 minutes to put the food in to-go boxes and a bag. read more

This is the best well kept 'secret' in all of Vermont. My husband and I stopped here as a pit stop after a long drive from Albany. We ordered wraps which were absolutely wonderful. The staff was very pleasant. The food was mostly organic. I would recommend this market/restaurant to everyone passing through Ludlow. It was a very nice diversion from a long road trip! read more

This review is for the food. The rest of the place is very strange... The food was delicious, but the service was scatterbrained and slow, and the seating is in various corners around the shop. We ended up sitting among organic feminine hygiene products and fragrant soaps, which interfered with our enjoyment of the excellent, fresh, locavore food. It's also confusing when you arrive. There are two sister shops across a parking lot. The gift shop on the NE side has Sunday brunch and the restrooms, while the market on the SW side has lunch and groceries. read more

Where to begin. My mom and I drove 2 hours to the Londonderry/Weston area of VT, and based on the reviews of this place we decided to make this our first stop and get lunch. Immediately upon entering the market cafe, we were shot an icy glare from the young gal behind the counter. From there, her behavior didn't get any better and she answered my one question with barely a grunt of effort. With very few options for a bite to eat around there, we reluctantly got soup and it tasted absolutely awful!!! The 20 minutes we spent there was so off-putting and jarring between this girl's incredibly rude attitude and gross tasting soup, I made a point of writing this review. I wouldn't have her represent any kind of business, she was so rude. Should she venture out of her bubble there, she will get eaten alive in the "real world" with that nasty personality. Stopped by The Garden Market twice this past weekend for vegan options! I was attending a wedding in Vermont and was very limited in terms of food options throughout the weekend. The Garden Market came in for the win! Ordered The Pammy sandwich and Smokin' Tempeh sandwich. Both were ordered without cheese. Both sandwiches were delicious and made with very FRESH ingredients. I especially LOVED the Smokin' Tempeh. Very delicious! If I am ever in the area again, I would definitely come by to try other menu items! read more

The food is great but it takes a 1/2 hour to get two sandwiches!! In the same breath as she is making our sandwiches she's doing other stuff like stacking cookies. You have to get in line to pay after standing in a line to order. In another words you stand in line after your sandwich. No bathroom there either. But the food was great!!! read more

I really am still at a loss about how were we treated at the Garden Market, it is hard to believe we met the owner, but who knows. I pulled in here last week with my mother and after finding ourselves a table we went up to the counter to order. Considering that my mother mentioned that she had stopped before with my sister (which would give anyone running a business a clue that we could potentially return) the woman who took our order was incredibly brusque and rude to my Mom. Considering that she is pushing 80, she is doing well and really only asked a couple of basic questions trying to order some food. The food took a bit too long, and the coffee much longer. The coffee was ok, but the food really wasn't. I can't remember the last time I paid $12. for a really basic sandwich and didn't even receive a few potato chips, only a pickle and a couple of tiny pieces of fruit. My mother's order of rye toast looked like a couple of crackers, not bread. The real problem was not the food, but the staff. When I went up to pay, the women was really put out that she had to stop what she was doing to take my money. I stop at fish fry and hamburger stands and get waited on by people who probably earn little more than minimum wage and they are pleasant, smile, thank you and treat you like a valued customer. Just ate here with my fiancé, and the food was amazing! I got the breakfast flat bread with ham instead of bacon which was cooked perfect, also I got an unexpected side of some fruit which was a few orange slices, a couple blackberries and a strawberry. My fiancé got the honey ham sandwich with apples on it and also loved that! I would definitely recommend this place if you live in town or are from out of town visiting like us. read more

However when we entererd thier empty restaurant last week with a party of 8 and asked if we could move the tables together, the woman behind the counter made it clear we were not welcome if we were going to re-arrange the furnature. We were taking a nice ride through Londonderry and wanted to stop for coffee. We went into The Garden Market because it looked like a nice spot. There was a very large party in front of us ordering sandwiches, which of course we didn't mine, but after their order was placed the two women behind the counter never even looked up or around to acknowledge us. Not even a, "we'll be with you in a couple minutes." Finally, after waiting about 10 minutes, one of the ladies finally turned around , and I said, "we would just like to order 4 coffees." With that she rather rudely turned to her fancy coffee machine, and said, "oh that will take forever!!" I told her if it was a problem we would go somewhere else. She didn't even apologize, so we left! I still can't believe the rudeness of the two women working there. We stumbled upon the Garden Market on a Sunday afternoon looking for a yummy lunch and it was exactly what we found. The food was fresh and delicious but even better was the service. The man and woman behind the counter were very polite and went above and beyond what was expected. They brought us our food with glasses for our waters even though the layout is more of a "go up to the counter" type place. The spinach wrap with feta, artichoke hearts, and local made hummus was outstanding. Another favorite that we had was the turkey reuben and the sweet kale salad that was filled with cranberries and cucumbers. It is a place that we will visit again. read more

I take no pleasure in giving poor reviews, especially to small local businesses who have many things to recommend them. But after my friend's treatment here last week I am forced to report on it. Six of us came here for lunch one day, and found the place to be lovely and quaint, with very good local food if somewhat slow service. The two young women behind the counter were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed ourselves very much. When one of our group was forced to do some work while on vacation and needed a more reliable wi-fi connection than our Inn provided, he headed to the Garden Market after the previous day's positive experience. After ordering food and coffee, he sat down at a table (in the otherwise empty restaurant) and pulled out his laptop. Before his coffee had even arrived, the owner accosted him, shouted at him that this was not an office and that he should get out. When my friend told him he was waiting for his food, the response was "finish your food and then leave." I'm not entirely sure what the owner is thinking here, but clearly it's not customer service. Which begs the question of why he's in business at all. Londonderry and the surrounding towns are full of small, attractive places that offer delicious local food. If this is how the owner believes customers should be treated, I figure the public should do him a favor and take their business elsewhere. He certainly doesn't seem to want it anyway. read more

I find myself wanting to give 4 stars instead of 5 because I have been here many times and have found there to be an air of snootiness on several occasions. But I couldn't give just 4 stars because the food is EXQUISITE. The quality and freshness of the various salads on display as well as the selection of local cheeses and every sandwich/salad and soup that I have had here has just blown me away. It might look like a dollhouse on the outside but the food is serious--mostly everything is homemade (except for something like a baguette or croissant, which come from a local bakery). Last summer we hiked to the top of Magic Mtn and what could be better upon reaching civilization again than a freshly-made lavender lemonade? Amazing. And seriously, I have never seen such gorgeous pizza. If I were to describe it, it wouldn't make sense so just go in and look next to the cash register where they usually have the pizza. Yes, a lunch here will cost more than a sandwich at the deli/deer carving station down the street, but not that much more and it is SO worth it. They have a few tables next to the stained glass windows, making it a nice place to stop and have a bite. read more
