We entered the absolutely adorable tiny shop and perused the various flavors offered. The friendly, kind, and helpful girl behind the counter told us about how they have many more flavors they alternate. I found that exciting, and definitely a first incentive for me to return again. My friend and I tasted a couple different flavors and then made our selections. She got a medium waffle cone with espresso and panna cotta. I also got a medium waffle cone but with panna cotta and pistachio. The flavors all meshed nicely together, and the texture was creamy and delightful. I look forward to coming back to try more flavors!

Walking around Ponce City Market I saw -- or, rather, I was led -- to the gelato stand. I spent summers in my teens in the ice cream and froyo world but the richness of gelato missed me. No more. Given a choice I'll always opt for the dense, silky stuff.* Because of my past I am not one of those who saunters up to the counter and asks for a sample of every flavor. If that's you, stop it. It's annoying. I had a few questions and the kind lady behind the counter was quick to answer them -- she even tried to get me to have some samples but my rule is steadfast. I told her about it and she laughed, nodding knowingly. I love that the menu contains all the allergen info so you can make the best decision for your tastebuds and body. Despite being iffy on milk sometimes I went for a scoop of nutella and a scoop of coffee. Of course the flavors blended beautifully. Of course the textures added to the experience. Of course I did my best to savor eating it rather than racing through every bite. Of course I wanted more when I was done... but there was more dessert to be had. *Experience with churning ice cream stays with you.

I paid extra for hazelnut crumbs, which added a nice texture, though the best fudgy part was at the bottom and very little of it. Overall, it's a chic, cozy spot for a break mid-shopping. Would I return? Maybe not. But if you need a quick treat, it's a decent pause.

But my grandson has found a new love for Gelato here. The creamery is a nicely, quaint decorated space, clean and plenty of outside space on those gorgeous sunny days. (keep your sample spoons for your actual gelato purchase) heck...we are trying to save the planet people. Anywho! My choses was to die for. The lemon was lemony which I truly loved. That lemon tart had that one eye twirking (LOL). That's when you know you got a good lemon flavor. The strawberry was the giving every bit of spring. My grandson almost finished his Carmel coffee/strawberry cup before we got to the car. I thought that was a disgusting combination but he said he LOVED LOVED it.
