Went here the other morning for breakfast with my family (5 adults & 3 kids). I called ahead and let them know we would have a larger party and they let us know it would be a little wait but only about 20 minutes. When we got there, I was surprised by how small it was. It really is diner sized. So it has a few booths, a few tables, and a long counter to sit at. Anyway, they pushed the few tables together for us, and we had plenty of table room. The service was great: pleasant attitude with lots of smiles, constant refills on everything, even patience for the little ones to order. Our server was excellent, and they have a good team because other servers offered refills to us as well. The food was top notch as well. It's breakfast, and it was a typical breakfast. Not real fancy or anything, but all delicious. As a group, we got a lot of different things: eggs, pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, omelettes, bacon, sausage, and even soup. Everyone loved their food. All in all our experience here was awesome. Great food, great service, and, come to think of it, great value. Our bill was less than ten dollars per person. Stopped here with my nieces and nephew and daughter since it had good reviews. Typical diner food. Staff was very friendly and there was no wait when we went at around 2:30. We were able to park our bikes in one of the car parking lots :). Had the burgers, chicken fingers, mac cheese, fish sandwich. Took a lot longer than i expected to get our food and everything was just ok. When we were sitting a bunch of people sitting beside us ordered breakfast food and it looked good. Next time we come back ill definitely order some French toast...yum. The lunch should definitely not be your first choice here as the lunch food we got was kinda bland. read more

We went to The Geneva Diner mid-week for lunch, as we were growing tired of the usual options and wanted a change. The diner itself is a bit dated, and could use some renovation. I was expecting classic diner-style, and was greeted instead with a Denny's imitation. There's nothing wrong with that, but the restaurant was showing signs of its age, and could use new floors, a fresh coat of paint, and some new decor. That aside, our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We appreciated her thoughtfulness, and found the service at the diner to be very quick. The food was perfectly tasty, but nothing beyond the ordinary. I had the chicken tenders with fries (listed as an "old-time favorite" on the menu) and found both to be very nice. read more

Love the Geneva Diner. It is your classic diner. Nothing more, nothing less! You usually don't have to wait too long to be seated and they never try to rush you to finish. We will always pick the Geneva diner as opposed to the crazy long wait at the other places in town.The service is great and I have never had a bad meal. It is perfect. Pleasantly surprised by how good this place was for lunch today. Fantastic homemade chicken noodle soup (loaded with chicken), amazing BLT (good quality bacon - no skimping), really good cheeseburger. And, the best service I have had at a restaurant in years. Great local diner. I really like the bacon. The waitstaff and cook/owner are all just the nicest people. Prices are reasonable compared to other downtown options. I can only say good things. My friend Ryan turned us onto this place. I'm so glad I listened. Wife and I went once while our daughter was in school and 2 others with our daughter. First 2 times we did skillets. 3rd a breakfast plate. Wife did steak and eggs on her third. Steak wasnt to her liking. Steak was substituted and removed from the bill without question. I'll agree with everyone -- it's a charming little diner, kind of a throwback to the places we used to get breakfast in before McDonald's served breakfast (that's a LONG time ago, right?). It's a little worn around the edges, but the BLT Club was fine (and not on the menu). And prices are generally cheaper than the fast food joints... Saying that, Mel's Diner down the street is a bit more energetic and feels like there's more action, so it's still my first choice. TIP: I was there for lunch today -- and there was only one other table in the whole place - so if you're in a hurry, give this place a shot! read more

The breakfast was mediocre. My market was overlooked but the veggies were fresh. The homemade corned beef hash was lackluster. My husband said it was the 2nd worse corned beef hash he's ever had. Our waitress was fine, the kitchen slow. Why come here if you have other choices. We came because there was s 30 minute wait at Nosh. Hadn't been to either place but no wait here should have been an indication. read more

I've only ordered out from here so far, but I was extremely pleased so I hope to update this review after dining in. I called and placed an order around 10:30 am on Sunday and was told the food would be ready in fifteen minutes. When I arrived, it was promptly given to me with polite service. I ordered the eggs Florentine and my bf got the Denver omelet. Both meals came with hash browns and were generous portions. The eggs Florentine were great. The only advice I'd give is to eat this at home because there is a lot of spinach and it gets stuck in your teeth. I suspect it's frozen, given the texture-- but the dish is still very good. My only complaints are that the holladaise sauce was a little salty and the hash browns could have been crispier. My bf didn't have any complaints about his food. We will definitely return to dine in. read more

Receiving three stars because the breakfast is delicious, however there is an older female waitress with reddish hair who is extremely rude. She doesn't even greet the customers before asking what we are having to eat. While I was in the middle of my order, she interrupted me and rolled her eyes. Very displeased with the service. Customers BEWARE! Ate the " Corned Beef Sandwich" on rye. Spent the day in Geneva. While driving back to Chicago that night ended up vomiting all over myself after I started having abdominal pain. The sandwich looked like a poor excuse of a slapped together grade school lunch sandwich on thin, cheap, white bread with barely any corned beef and only cheap, yellow, hotdog mustard to put on it. The fries were undercooked; the onion rings were like something from Aldi's and overcooked. Between that, a pop, coffee, and order of biscuits & gravy, the bill came to $25, with tip $30. Our inattentive, male server insisted that the sandwich was on rye bread. When he had the nerve to serve me that slop to begin with, I decided to just eat it instead of arguing. Wish I had taken a picture. To see it is to believe it, because I thought that I was being "punked". Needless to say, I will not be a repeat customer. It was by far the worst food that I have ever been served no matter where I've traveled. BTW, I went to cooking school and have a library with over 400 cookbooks. read more

Geneva Diner is quite good. The atmosphere is nothing to be excited about, pretty dated, but the service is good and food is very good. If you are looking for pretty basic breakfast fare but tasty, come here. Haven't been for lunch, but looks good. read more

Not sure if I caught them on a bad day. And do not wish any employees ill will. But had to report an breakfast experience that surprised me... went on for a quick bfast with out of town business associate. Ordered omelette , companion ordered pancake and yogurt with fruit. Took 30 min to get the omelette and yogurt. Then the pancake was either forgotten or still in the pipeline and took another 20 min... the omelet had more mozzarella cheese than egg and when the pancake came it was similar to a style akin to bygone era of when bread and water were the evening staples... waitress was very kind and understood the challenges facing the kitchen help and did not charge for the pancake. Hope they can turn things around .... read more

I'm in the middle of moving and cannot find any of my kitchen pans yet. I still have to eat and don't eat fast food. I stopped into the Geneva diner on my way to work and was pleasantly surprised that the food is cheaper than any of the other restaurants in the Batavia/Geneva area. I was also pleasantly surprised that the food was pretty good. Yes, it's diner food but it's pretty good diner food. They use real eggs, real butter, and I'm reasonably sure the hashbrowns did not come out of the freezer. The woman who waited on me, I believe her name was Julie, was great. She was very nice and very helpful and I really liked watching her interact with the other customers while I waited for my food. The portions are big enough that I'm going to save the other half for breakfast tomorrow, so I probably won't be coming back in the morning but I will definitely be coming back. read more

Best way to describe this place; a meat and potatoes, down home, food just like grandma use to make. This place is good and it's consistent. Anything breakfast is good. My favorite is the corn beef hash. They put and egg or two on top. Anything egg is good here. Grits, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy all very good. Coffee is very good too. Wait staff friendly. So what's the hidden trouble with this place you ask? It can get crowded. Saturday or Sunday morning can be quite a long wait. But, its worth it. I've never had one but the grand kids say the burgers are really good here also. Can't go wrong with this place! read more

I do appreciate how you can come here and get breakfast and it's not huge and more than you want. It's getting increasingly difficult to find something small when you eat out. Awesome little place. Stopped in due to the ambiance. We received a warm welcome and decided to eat at the breakfast counter (which seemed to be the place to be at 6am). Ordered an egg white omelette with ham and cheese. Sooooo yummy. I had a large amount of cheese so I had cheese in every bite. The chef (owner?) came out and asked how we liked our food. Perfect little place for an inexpensive, delicious breakfast or lunch. Alone? Sit at the counter and chat with the staff and patrons. With a friend, sit in the side room at a booth or table. I love the egg salad sandwich and homemade soup. My wife likes the breakfast sampler and french toast. We both love the terrific, friendly service. We moved to Geneva 1 1/2 yrs. ago & found The Geneva Diner shortly after. Every Sunday we are able, we enjoy breakfast after church. I was very impressed with this place, however, I didn't care for European seating style when they're busy. We sat next to this couple who kept talking very loud about inappropriate things when my children were with us. Also, i don't like that I cannot get tortillas instead of toast.
