What a fun place to relax after a long walk through the market! If you're feeling up to the challenge, ask to be hung by your ankles near the bar. Great group vacation photo opportunity! Try the Baja shrimp, beef, or calamari tacos, and the guacamole & pico appetizer is a solid choice. Their Margaritas are stiff and cool after a long, hot day of walking :)
The place burned down 6-14-24. Fire started at four in the morning, and the police said it was due to an electrical fire. The smoke covered the downtown area of Cabo San Lucas and the marina. the restaurant was built in 1989 and was the first bar in Cabo San Lucas. A piece of Mexican history has now gone. It's indetermined what will happen next.
We stumbled upon this place and we came at the perfect time! They were playing trivia and we are quite competitive. We had a blast and the staff kept everyone interested. The food was not amazing, but the staff and entertainment was top notch!
Came here at about noon on a Sunday. The staff was very friendly and there were only about 2-4 other tables while we were there. They had music videos playing from the early 2000's (which I love lol). We got a couple rounds of drinks only, no food. Drinks were good, and strong! Our friend lost the ring on a string game so he had to do the upside down shot!!!! the also busted out jenga for us to play against another table. We won! Overall, fun relaxing way to start out our bar hopping day
Worse tacos in Cabo... look at the pics. I ordered the combo beef, chicken, fish, shrimp. The fish was rubbery and not fresh. The shrimp was just as bad. They served the tacos with no cheese, no sauce, when I asked for sauce they brought tobasco and tapatio. If you want tacos, don't go here. Just robots with no passion for what they do. This does not represent the Mexico I know, find a locals spot.

Was an absolute amazing time!! We had Arturo as our waiter. He has been here for 34 years and couldn't ask for better service. He went above and beyond and even made me a sure he made salsa separate for me as the other was a bit spicy. What a wonderful surprise and kind of him. Had so much fun here!!! A must go when in Cabo!!
What a huge pub, right in the center of Cabo, with all the thrills, feels of a bar right in the center of the tourist trap. You cannot miss it due to the large signage. It was fine here, during the day for a quick drink to quench that thirst. Food also if you desire. We did not. They sell local t shirts and as much paraphernalia as you would want to take home. I can imagine the partying that goes on here at night with all the youth on vacation. It's an ideal spot for them. It looks like it could be a great spot at 0200 in am. Not for me though.. just too old and it's beyond me.. Thankfully... but let the kids enjoy. I did too way back in the day. Thank God all that is behind me.
We came here for lunch on a weekday (after a morning of scuba diving). We had some youngsters who wanted the thrill of drinking a shot upside-down. We were the only people in the place when we arrived. It was pretty hot and not fans were running. We all ordered drinks. The service was pretty good, friendly, and fast service. Some of us ordered food before the upside-down drinking began. Our food arrived pretty quickly and I was pretty impressed. The food was very nicely presented and was tasty. I had the chicken fajitas, it was deconstructed (as fajitas usually is) but they skipped the sizzling pan, which I think was an improvement. For a touristy looking place with a gimmick (upside-down shots), the food and drink were very good and the service made for a very pleasant lunch.
Great atmosphere and staff. Wish that there was more seafood options that were not fried. Jalapeño margarita was the best!
Unfortunately this place is closed and wasn't rebuilt after the fire in June 2024. Such a piece of history is gone. No more hanging upside down, eaten delicious food or just having a memorable time. I hope they re-open. read more
In my older age, I have come to thoroughly enjoy the trite mythos of an adult Chuck E. Cheese like establishment. This is exactly what the Giggling Marlin is. Allow me to set the scene so you can fully understand. I was in town for a wedding and at this point was on an absolute BENDER. It was day 3 of heavy drinking, and my social battery was near 0. However, I had spoken maybe 2 words to the only girl at this wedding that really inspired me so I had to dig deep and show face. Real ones will feel me. After a long day of drinking, we enter the Garlic Marlin. Right when we sit down, someone orders tequila shots for everyone. I politely decline, I'll stick to babysitting this Pacifico. As we are ordering food I find myself spiraling, beginning to fight for my life. A storm is here. The hangover I had been pushing for the past 72 hours is coming in. Gulp. Then, something Magical happened. This little Mexican dude begins to set up 5 chairs and pulling people out of the crowd. Keep in mind we are rolling DEEP, about 40 of us. Maybe a little less. Or maybe a little more. Idk 40 feels right, though. Anyways, he is essentially the MC for one of the most interesting, unexpected nights of my life. For Act 1, he sets up a game of musical chairs with 5 female contestants, pouring shots in their mouths after every round. Rowdy. The bride is obviously a competitor and man does she have that dawg in her. Shoutout to Sassy. The first few rounds were predictable, but the final was absolutely electric. It was the bride vs a girl who was not there for the wedding, just an innocent bystander. A lamb walking to the slaughter. I can't put into words how great a job the MC did hyping this up. You would have thought this was the Rumble in the Jungle the way he was selling this. All 40ish of us were on the edge of our seat. When the music stopped, the bride, in her heels, ran like a hungry lion to the empty seat clearly earning the chair and the win. We ERUPTED like mount Vesuvius. Like Ali had just beaten Foreman after being a 4-1 underdog. Fair play to her competitor though. I respect any man woman or child that steps foot in the arena and leaves it all on the line. For Act 2, the MC picks 4 gentleman out of the crowd to compete in drinking games vs the Giggling Marlins best. After dropping 2 of 3 beer chugs to the Marlins, we had our ace in the hole. Our Mariano Rivera. Everyone in the building was counting this as a win for us before it started, as our Michael Jordan, who we shall refer to as Jake, has never lost a beer chug in his life. We had supreme confidence in Jake and were already wondering what the sudden death would be after the 2-2 split. However, I became DEATHLY concerned after their guys entrance. The lights cut out, and music began to play that sent chills down my spine. Think grim reaper entrance music. Then, I begin to see some movement across the restaurant. One, slow step at time...left...right...left.... I can make out a slightly overweight figure draped in an all black robe. Petrifying. He slowly makes his way to the table and emphatically pulls his hood off. The grim reaper with a beer belly. Sh*t. But like honestly what a production. You have to respect that. Jake does his best to remain confident and unshaken, but that walkout would intimidate even Conor McGregor. Please see the attached picture of him looking directly into Jakes soul. As you may have guessed, Jake proceeds to get absolutely thrashed and it completely takes the wind out of our sails collectively. You could hear a pin drop in there after the Reaper buried Jake 6 feet under the Giggling Marlin. My hangover was completely cured and I couldn't have imagined a better way to wrap up the trip. May the Giggling Marlin live forever. Food was alright but you don't come here for the food. You come here for pure inspiration. Apologies for the long-winded review, but I needed to get this off my chest. read more

Right next to all the artisan shops and plazas and has a FULL bar! Bartenders were fun, we went a little early so it was a little dead. But you can tell it would be really fun at night! Baby sis turned 18, so we hung her up like a marlin! They also give you some shots while your upside down! Haha would go back! read more
We've been here before... at night time.. wow - crazy! But today, fairly quiet. Good music (80s!) drinks seemed pretty cheap. Pretty good food (burger) fish tacos ok.... (amigos- better places for fish tacos!) But ok in a hurry! read more
This is the spot for great food and drinks. We enjoyed 2 for 1 margaritas and great tacos. Now I want everyone to know that the "Calamari" tacos are the best ever. I have eaten a lot of calamari and hands down this is the best. They also make fresh salsa at the table. read more

We stopped in here while shopping for snacks and drinks. Drinks were 2 for 1...can't get much better than that. The whole staff was very fun and friendly, especially our server. He made us table side guac and salsa to our liking and was so fun! Bruno was our other favorite :) Restaurant dog came, greet and hung out with us. I loved this place! read more

"Is Good For A Younger Crowd " I stopped into the Giggling Marlin in Cabo San Lucas to see what kind of place it was and was not surprised. As the name indicates, this place serves OK burgers, fish tacos, and all kinds of drinks. The music load and is mainly from the 80's, and it reminded me of what I used to do at a crazy bar 30 years ago. Crazy upside shots, along with some wild bar games, dancing, and all kinds of other wild stuff. When I was younger it would be a great place to visit, but now it is not a great place for some older people. It's OK ! read more
Came by to the Giggling coffee bean on the side of the giggling Marlin. Love it. Cheap prices for coffee and thoroughly enjoyed the cookies and cream waffle sandwich! Great spot to hang back, relax and soak in the sun over a cup of coffee and ice cream. read more

This place was absolute trash. The service was awful and the food was extremely subpar. We waited for over 45 minutes for breakfast foods like an omelette, a breakfast burrito and waffles. With 8 of us, each plate came out one at a time, so in total, we waited over 1 hour for the last plate. The iced coffee was the only good part of the meal. The eggs in my breakfast burrito were overcooked and dry. I recommend you turn around and pick somewhere else to spend your money because this place was awful. read more

2 for 1 drinks all day. All day Happy Hour!!!!!! The salsa cart was the bomb. The gentleman making the salsa was skilled and gave great recommendations on creating the perfect blend of salsa. If you get drunk enough try the upside down rope hang!!!!!! read more

It's fun in here! During the day, it's usually calm and quiet. At night, it can be crazy. There is a ton to look at the they make good drinks. The signature drink, "Skip and Go Naked", is delicious, filling and heavy with booze. If you drink 4, they put your name on the wall. My only complaint is their prices: compared to all other bars (excluding Squid Row and Frog's) they are pricey. It's so easy to find $2 beers and happy hours in Cabo - just not here. Finally, if you walk in with evidence that you were shopping, they will put on the heavy, heavy sales pitch to buy the Giggling Marlin brand "premium" tequila. Beware. read more

This is definitely a spot where you are sure that if the walls could talk, some interesting stories would be told for sure. This is definitely a throwback spot that harkens back to the early days of Mexican resort bars geared towards tourists. It's authentically inauthentic and unabashed regarding the cheesiness of some of the options. For example, they have a tableside salsa cart - what? It's obviously in need of an overhaul, but strangely...awesome. The margaritas are strong. They serve plenty of chips and beer and all the Mexican / American food that tourists crave. We all ordered different tacos and then made samplers - I tried the chicken and fish tacos, which were pretty good, not great, but very serviceable. I mean - look at the little container for the refried beans in the pic that I posted? Who does that anymore? As the sign says outside "Don't stand outside and be hungry, come on in and get fed up." You should - once - and enjoy it as a throwback to the early days of Cabo San Lucas. I believe Anthony Bourdain would approve. read more
