Our waitress, who was friendly and clearly trying her best, appeared to be doing everything -- taking orders, serving tables, and possibly even cooking. It wasn't her fault, but it made the entire service feel slow and chaotic. Despite the place being nearly empty, it took 1 hour and 40 minutes to get our food. That kind of delay would be hard to overlook even during a rush -- let alone a slow morning. Several menu items were already "out" which was confusing and disappointing for a small menu. It felt like they were unprepared to open for the day.

The venue seems to book a few acts a week. You can go online, purchase tickets, and pick your actual seat - they sell seats by the table. We were at Table 20 for The Verve Pipe, and it was a four-top, in the 3rd row of tables, on the side, with an excellent view of the stage. Sadly, they do NOT offer their fabulous cocktails upstairs here, even though there is a bar. If you want to drink something stellar, you will need to walk yourself back down the two flights of stairs, and get it yourself. Instead, they have instructions on each table of how to order a standard cocktail on-line; you choose your basic booze, then your basic mixer, and a cocktail server will bring it out to you and take your credit card. Efficient, but very boring. The venue is small, but the sound was good, with the exception of the two magpies behind me screaming and nattering the whole time. Why go to a concert if you're just going to talk through the entire thing? But I digress.... This is a wonderful venue to go see some surprisingly good artists, and I highly recommend a visit.

A Cinematic Masterpiece Before the Movie Even Begins…read more If you are looking for an unforgettable night out, the historic Tampa Theatre is an absolute must-visit. Calling it just a "movie theater" feels like a massive understatement - it is a breathtaking time capsule and a true architectural marvel that elevates the simple act of watching a film into a grand event. From the moment you step through the doors, you are transported into a spectacular, 1920s Mediterranean courtyard. The attention to detail inside the auditorium is stunning, offering an experience that modern multiplexes simply cannot replicate. Here is what makes it so incredibly special: * The Atmospheric Ceiling: You sit under a remarkably realistic night sky, complete with 99 twinkling stars and gently drifting clouds, making you feel like you are outdoors on a perfect evening. * The Architecture: The eclectic, opulent blend of Moorish, Spanish, and Byzantine details - surrounded by gargoyles, statues, and ornate balconies - gives the space a magical, almost surreal charm. * The Mighty Wurlitzer: Arriving early is a requirement! Hearing the historic theatre organ played live before the screenings perfectly captures the golden age of cinema. The programming is just as thoughtfully curated as the decor. Whether you are catching a brilliant independent film, a beloved cult classic, a documentary, or a live event, the venue makes every single screening feel momentous. Grab some popcorn, take in the gorgeous scenery, and enjoy the show. The Tampa Theatre is a meticulously preserved local treasure and truly one of the greatest places to spend an evening!

From the moment it began, it was clear that an enormous amount of talent and hard work went into every part of this production. The four performers carried the entire show with remarkable range. They moved seamlessly between singing and a variety of choreography styles, each number bringing something different to the stage. What stood out most was how much fun the performers were clearly having, and that energy was infectious. The audience was laughing throughout, fully engaged from start to finish. There wasn't a lull in the entire performance; every scene felt purposeful, and you could tell the cast had put in serious work to make it look effortless. This is the kind of show that reminds you why live theater is special. It's polished, it's funny, and it's performed by genuinely talented people who clearly love what they do. I highly recommend this theater to anyone looking for a great night (or day) out. Whether you're a longtime theater fan or just want an entertaining few hours, this production delivers.

I have seen Puerto Rican food there. This year Cuban sandwich winners are Aloha food truck (third place), the Floridian (second place), and the no 1 winner is Trias. Their secrets ingredient is salami. The Cuban community here is strong and they do hold this festival every year. Latin music playing at the background and people enjoy their afternoon off with family. We have try Sergio's Cuban sandwich from Miami. The line to get the sandwich is long. It takes me 30 minutes to line up to order. The price is cheap with whole sandwich for $7. I could have just order 10 of them and sell $10 to the people line up at the back. The drinks stand that next to the hot the benefits for the people who are in the line. The sandwich is ok. I have tasted better Cuban sandwich at Miami with better mojo pork. We also order the grilled steak meat from one of the food stand. It was juicy and nice. My wife gets the Puerto Rican food. It has the blood sausage, pig stomach soup, and bacalao fried dough. I like the fried bacalao and the pig stomach. It cooks with yellow bean base. Those are savory. Love the festival. There were some with mayo (complete sin) and some that did not have Cuban bread! The day was beautiful, the weather cooperated beautifully, vendors and crafts a plenty, the he people were great/friendly. We missed this festival the past 2 years in a row, both since we came on the wrong day and the wrong time! So we finally made it and did it. It would be so much better if they offered a sampler plate with the top 5 to compare side by side, and some beer, sangria something for the palate Not sure we will go back next year, but maybe we will make our own sandwich sampler throughout the Bay Area!
