    Fish & Chips

First time at The Ginger Man and came here because was recommended to try if in Greenwich. It was worth trying as they pour a perfect pint of Guinness and to complement the pint was an order of Fish and Chips which was the best I had in a while, crispy crust and flaky fish with fresh cut fries including amazing tartar sauce. My partner is gluten free and a few options to choose from like one of the burgers without buns and ultimately chose Steak Frites with Truffle Parmesan, it was cooked well and paired well the fresh cut fries. We will be back next time for sure

I came to Ginger Man for lunch with some friends while in Greenwich and it was a great experience! We dined on the patio which was so nice. It's right on Greenwich Ave so it was perfect for people watching. To eat, I got a Caesar salad with steak. Everything was so good! The salad was fresh and the steak super flavorful. As a table we share a side of fries and a pretzel. The pretzel was my favorite! Highly recommend The Ginger Man if you're in Greenwich looking for a bite.

The Ginger Man is a quaint neighborhood pub like establishment. I was there for a Christmas party. I've heard good things about this place so I had semi high expectations. The set up was more buffet style as opposed to a sit down. They brought out the finger foods which were okay. There was the standard mini cheeseburgers, empanadas, some sort of salsa on tortilla chips, and meatballs. Basically all was decent but everything was covered not fully covered with either cheese, BBQ sauces or something else. It would have been better if the topping was on the side. The toppings seemed to overpower. It also appeared that the offerings were on the small side. There were times that the music was on the loud side making conversations difficult. On a more positive the bartenders were excellent.

I was a fan of the original NYC location and was delighted to see this pop up in Greenwich. It's a spacious pub with an old school feel. A few of outdoor tables which I'd recommend in the summer. The beer list is pretty extensive and you can't really go wrong with any of them! I was a bit disappointed with the food on my last visit though, I had the burger which was a little dry and overcooked. It comes in an English muffin which is kind of unique though! Also went for the kale salad, it was not bad but the kale leaves did not taste super fresh on that occasion.

This place is adorable. Right at the top of Greenwich Ave. We sat in the back in the fireplace room and took advantage of the Oktoberfest menu and the bratwurst. Delish! Our waitress never really checked in on us so I can't give 5 stars. But I'd definitely go back.

This is a place that you never have to wait, and the service is good. It's pub food so you have to go in with that mindset. We went for brunch on a Sunday and couldn't get into other places. Sister got lamb has eggs which she said was gross because the hash was burnt and dry. Father ate a spinach omelette and he was pleased. It wasn't stellar. I ate a Cobb salad and added salmon which was amazing. The 3 stars Consistories the price- it seems like thiết pricing went up, and for the taste/quality I'd say it's not there.

Excellent ambiance, good food, and friendly service in a classic and classy setting. Conveniently located near the train and a walkable strip of bars, restaurants, and shops. Highlights of the meal were the pesto mac n cheese, and the burger. Good beer selection, and crafty cocktails. If I lived within walking distance of this place, it would be a regular spot for me. Recommend.

Based on how busy this spot was on a Saturday night, The Ginger Man needs no introduction to locals. Clearly an institution and rightfully so!! We were able to get a seat after a short wait, ~5 minutes. The menu is the perfect mix of classic American homestyle dishes. I orderd the fish and chips, which heavy on the batter but delish. In hindsight, I was jealous and should have gotten the burger. The ambience is super cozy, but also lively with lots of kids and parties happening in the upstairs room. Def stop in here for the fire and stay for the TVs and awesome menu.

Came here for some apps and was highly impressed. The portions were the perfect size as an afternoon snack but also super delicious. The atmosphere also reminded me on being in a little pub in Ireland. I can't believe I have never been before. Definitely want to go back for dinner and try the entrees.

I was a little underwhelmed by this place. When I arrive, there were a few young kids with their parents partying and made the whole dining area very noisy. I ordered lamb Reuben and the lamb was a little over cooked, and the texture was hard to chew.

I went with a couple friends and we all liked our food, the seating and inside is nice! There is indoor and outdoor seating! We got the chips and guac appetizer along with 12 buffalo wings and it was delicious and came out boiling hot, which we loved. The waitress was so sweet she even brought us a few more chips when she saw we were out of chips with a little guac left. The waitress was quick with ordering and filling water which I always like to mention in reviews. I got the crispy chicken paillard sandwich and i loved it, I got caramelized onions instead of pickled onions, and my boyfriend got the Nashville, hot chicken sandwich and he loved it, it was a little smaller than he expected. French fries were delicious all around a nice place to go with a group of friends, and there was tons of seating.

We had the private dining room because we were a party of 10. Very nice menu and an excellent wine list but on the pricey side. Started with crispy Calamari with a lemon caper tartar and a crispy artichoke with lemon aioli, Friese, peppers, and pecorino cheese. Both were very good. For mains. my wife ordered the scallops with mushrooms and asparagus risotto. She truly enjoyed it. I opted for the herb crusted lamb loin since I am a rack of lamb lover. It came with farro and sautéed spinach. Unfortunately I was disappointed. Others in the group raved about the pork chop. For dessert, we tried the chocolate mousse, chocolate ganache and chocolate cookie crumble. Much denser than a regular mouse, very good. Also the brown butter creme Brule. Almost as good as my mine which I got the recipe from a family friend Paul Bocuse.

We came to Greenwich today so had to try it. Again reserved this on Tuesday! Right off the bat knew it was pricey. No prices on the menu. Service very impressive though. They knew from open table I was gluten free and can't do onions. Usually restaurants don't pay attention to that. We had a waiter. Manager. Water person. Incredible service. Ordered tomato salad. Incredible flavor but very small. They poured "tomato water" onto the salad for us. Loved that. Super bougie. I was into it. Salad great but could have ordered two. I got the spicy shrimp fried rice. Good portion but incredibly rich. Brought half home. Comes with fried egg on top. Bf got the salmon in paper and he thought it would be served wrapped in sort of parchment paper or something like he's had at French restaurants in the past (Le Mazet specifically in West Hartford) but it was just a piece of salmon and couscous so kind of unimpressive presentation, but he said it was very good. He was just expecting it to be what he had somewhere else basically. Again was very good but also expensive for what u get. Overall. Impeccable service. Food good. Not over the top great. The mezze plate came with small bowls of hummus, baba ghanoush, tzatziki, and roasted pepper dip, as well as pieces of pita, cucumber, carrots, celery, and olives. All the dips were delicious. The burrata toast had roasted squash, apples, maple walnuts, pomegranate seeds, a little bit of greens, and a balsamic glaze. I'm a burrata lover, and it's usually served with tomatoes, but I loved this unique blend of ingredients. For my main dish, I had the Maine lobster roll. This was served cold, with mayo, on a potato roll, with a side salad. The portions were huge and the lobster was so good. For dessert, I tried the skillet chocolate chip cookie, the chocolate lava cake, and the pavlova. Everyone at my table agreed that the chocolate chip cookie was the best dessert. It's served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled with chocolate syrup. In one word, heavenly. For drinks, I had a yummy lychee martini. My dad had wine, and he asked me to add to my review that he thought the wine markup was very reasonable. It's a beautiful restaurant, and service was great. Highly recommend stopping here for dinner.

After doing a little research, I came across The Wheel, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. I made a reservation for Sunday brunch. Finding the entrance was a little confusing at first, and parking took a minute to figure out, but I eventually learned you can park for free at the Village next door, which made things much easier. Once I arrived, I was immediately greeted and shown to the outdoor seating area. Walking through the restaurant, I was impressed by how beautiful the property is. It is incredibly spacious, sits right on the water, and even has an additional outdoor area next door where you can relax away from the restaurant. The views alone make this place worth visiting. Our server, Freddy, was fantastic. He was friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the menu, answer questions, and offer recommendations, which made the experience even better. Now onto the food. To start, we shared the Breakfast Pizza, topped with smoked bacon, crispy potatoes, roasted garlic, mozzarella, two eggs, and fresh cracked black pepper. It was a fun twist on brunch and had great flavor. We also ordered the Shrimp and Grits, made with cheddar grits, wild caught shrimp, a poached egg, and chimichurri. Rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich looked outstanding. Made with organic Murray's chicken, hot honey, coleslaw, and dill pickles, it came with fries and disappeared quickly. For my entrée, I ordered the Steak and Eggs, featuring grilled hanger steak, two eggs, breakfast potatoes, and chimichurri. The steak had excellent flavor, although I ordered it medium and it came out closer to well done. It was my only real issue with the meal. We also tried a couple of cocktails. The Orange Crush was refreshing and perfect for brunch, while the bourbon, Aperol, peach, Earl Grey, and lemon cocktail was smooth, balanced, and equally enjoyable. Dessert was the perfect ending. The Take 5 Sundae with peanut butter crunch, pretzels, whipped cream, vanilla bean caramel, chocolate ice cream, and hot fudge was absolutely delicious. We also had the Tres Leches, topped with strawberries and vanilla whipped cream, which was light, moist, and a great way to finish the meal. Overall, everything we ordered was delicious. Aside from the slightly confusing entrance, parking, and my overcooked steak, the entire experience was outstanding. The waterfront setting, excellent service, beautiful atmosphere, and quality food make this one of the best brunch spots in Stamford. I will definitely be back. Next time I already have my eye on the Banana Buttermilk Bread, Village Breakfast, Braised Short Rib Hash, Wheel House Burger, Margherita Pizza, Smoked Salmon Pizza, and the Crispy Chicken Sandwich for myself. For drinks, I want to try the Charred Citrus, One in a Melon, and the Orange Crush. And I definitely need to save room for the Vanilla Bean Cheesecake.

I ordered the 1930's Rachel sandwich with pastrami, Swiss, sauerkraut, and thousand island on rye, served with a side of fries. The sandwich was well balanced and satisfying, with the pastrami bringing a good depth of flavor and the bread nicely toasted, though nothing about it pushed beyond what you would expect from a reliable local spot. The fries were crisp and did their job, but again, more supporting act than standout. Where the meal really turned was dessert. The Tangerine and Ube mousses were easily the highlight of the night. Both had a clean, refined presentation and a smooth texture that felt more thoughtful and elevated than the rest of the meal. The tangerine was bright and refreshing, while the ube brought a subtle richness that rounded things out nicely. It was the one moment that felt memorable. The ambiance leans warm and relaxed, making it an easy place to sit and talk without feeling rushed. Service was steady and unobtrusive, fitting the tone of the restaurant well. Overall, La Bistro is a dependable spot that gets the fundamentals right, but it is the dessert that gives you a reason to come back.
