For me, a monte cristo is always somewhat reminiscent of a breakfast sandwich because the batter it is dipped in reminds me of waffles. If I could have added an egg I would have! It was perfection paired with the raspberry preserves. Their fry sauce has a slight spicy something to it. It was very filling and I was only able to eat half of my half order. The others in my group ordered the Crowd Pleaser (bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers, cheese curds, wings, a sausage roll, and sauces) and a Reuben sandwich. I am told the corned beef was perfection. The chili oil drizzle was nice but did not add the kick in spice we were hoping for, the mashed potatoes and gravy were pleasant however the meat part of that dish tasted so dense, it was difficult to finish. With the loud DJ set on the first floor, large groups of 22 year olds on the patio, and the food and drinks being alright, I feel like the idea of Gracie's is better than some nights actually there.

The papaya salad was weird to say the least and tough. Possibly the worst plate of food had to have been the salad I've pictured, with some spotted radicchio. Super bitter and inedible. We sent it away and noticed the table next to us also complain about theirs. The other salad that we replaced it with was just okay and needed more elements. On a positive note, the staff were really friendly and polite and the complimentary bread with honey butter was delicious. My recommendation is to skip this restaurant and walk down to the Steak Pit.

My sister and I had driven all the way from Orange County, California to Cottonwood Heights for the Hilary Duff concert in West Valley and were staying at the suites across the street. It was also my sister's birthday, so we wanted to find a great place to eat--and we're so glad we chose Bandits'. From the moment we sat down, Kelle made us feel incredibly welcome. She knew it was our first time there and treated us like family. She was so sweet, kind, funny, and genuinely caring. Her customer service was exceptional, and she made us feel like we'd known her for years. You can tell she truly loves what she does, and it shows in every interaction. The food was fantastic, served hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The atmosphere was warm, relaxing, and inviting, making the entire experience even better. But what really made our visit unforgettable was Kelle. She went above and beyond to make my sister's birthday special and made us feel appreciated the entire time. Employees like Kelle are hard to find, and Bandits' Grill & Bar is lucky to have her. We sincerely hope management recognizes what an incredible asset she is. I was in the Salt Lake City area visiting four colleagues, and they highly recommended the restaurant, so I was looking forward to trying it. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich ($19.99) and added a Caesar salad ($4.99), with beans and coleslaw as my sides. Unfortunately, my meal was pretty underwhelming. The pulled pork wasn't very flavorful and didn't taste particularly fresh. The coleslaw was vinegar-based, which I personally didn't care for at all, and the beans were just mediocre. Overall, I was disappointed with my meal. That said, two of my colleagues ordered the prime rib sandwich ($23.49), which is similar to a French dip, and they both raved about it. They said it was excellent. Another person in our group had the tri-tip sandwich ($20.49), and the chicken plate was $21.99. Our total for five people came to $128.43 including tax, before tip. The service was average--nothing particularly bad, but nothing that stood out either. On the positive side, I really liked the interior and ambiance of the restaurant. It was attractive, comfortable, and very clean. I'm giving Bandits three stars based on my personal experience this time around, but I'm definitely willing to give it another chance. Based on how much my colleagues enjoyed the prime rib sandwich, I'll probably order that on my next visit and see if it's as good as they described. Sometimes the first thing you order just isn't the restaurant's best dish, so I'm not writing this place off yet.

You can tell a lot of care went into it--it felt elevated but still approachable. Honestly one of the best appetizers I've had in a long time. Also had the bacon blue burger and WOW. Cooked perfectly, super juicy, and the bacon + blue cheese combo was bold without being overwhelming. Just a really solid, satisfying burger. All in all I would go back for the food. I'd say my friends would go back for drinks. It was a great experience in downtown SLC.
