Good food and nice location in Wayne. I don't know if the service is the best here but I wouldn't be too picky. Overall had a nice time and everyone was saying that their food was great. The steak mac & cheese is very good, a few pieces of good meat over cheese gnocchi. Missing a little bit of salt IMO but very good. The burrata salad looked really good too and they had a special of ribs that got some good feedback too. read more

We had been to the goat's beard location in manayunk a bunch of times and one day I looked at the menu of the Wayne location!! They have double the options! The magic mushroom pizza is something I think was created just for my taste, there is nothing on it I don't love!! The nuggets are a must get, we always get 2 orders!! Me and a few friends met here for drinks and munchies. The bar area was definitely the place to be on a Friday night. I tried two cocktails- Twist & Shout and the Penny Lane. Both were unique and very good. Price for the serving was a bit high but that is usual for most bars so it wasn't a surprise. I'm not a whiskey drinker but I did notice the list of options was extensive. The bar are is kind of small so it can be a bit loud. It wasn't unbearable. We decided on several appetizers to start with our first round of drinks. Calamari was good. It was served with a tomato sauce....watch out for the peppers if you order it. Pita and hummus is always a good choice so we ordered that too. Lastly we ordered the Brussels sprouts. I know. Why order a veggie? But they were so good with big pieces of bacon. You know it's good if bacon is included! The Smoke Show Detroit Style Pizza and steak Mac & Cheese were ordered for dinner. The pizza was deep dish. I loved the extra layer of ricotta cheese. The steak Mac & cheese was a total surprise. Who would think to replace the pasta with gnocchi? So clever and delicious! It was a potato gnocchi with creamy cheese sauce. A must have if you visit. We almost walked out but managed to get service by being boisterous and a bit pushy with the host. Eventually, a very reluctant waitress attended to us. Throughout our meal, we faced numerous issues. We had to retrieve our own straws and remind the waitress multiple times about our drink orders. She kept returning with bad news about what we had ordered. Additionally, she spent a significant amount of time flirting with a nearby table, ignoring our attempts to get her attention. As a multiracial family, my gut instinct tells me that our poor experience felt intentional, echoing concerns from another review I read. Adding to the frustration, we were surprised by an additional "back of the house" charge on our bill, approximately 3 percent of the total. Goat's Beard Wayne rarely disappoints. Food is pretty good. Drinks are as well. Service is typically solid. Sometimes the restaurant is buzzy, sometimes not, but that's probably most places. There's probably a little bit for everyone at GB, although vegans and vegetarians might have limited options. Already a bad presentation...the website says they close at 11pm and we go at 8:50pm and they actually close at 9pm. Manager contacted me and after I proved the conversation and screen shot the website that was incorrect...they changed it (but not before I screen shot it) and then replied rudely. Very hostile. I would not recommend. I will post picture from last night. Instead of being honest and apologizing...this childish tactic was taken. We do not need establishments like this in our community!!! It's pretty average American fare. If you're a normal person, you'll like it. If you're a foodie, you'll likely be disappointed. My (normal) parents enjoyed it quite a bit on their first visit; they found their second visit a bit disappointing. The steak Mac n cheese gnocchi, I will say, was quite good! The ribs were... tiny. It was not a full rack, nor was it "an abundant serving," as my father noted. The veggie curry was mediocre (though that's to be expected from anywhere that serves both ribs and Mac and cheese and curry, I'd expect). The brookie was yummy and the caramel sauce on it was fantastic, though they give the tiniest amount of ice cream with a brownie the size of your face--ratio a bit off there. We were able to get reservations for 4 at 6:15pm. There were so many options on the menu that we wanted to try. We decided to go with 3 different Detroit style pizzas. The smaller size had 4 slices. The larger size had 8 slices. We had the OG and the 1010 both large sizes and the Pickle pizza in small. Totally delicious! They have Coke products and a full bar. Stumbled upon this little restaurant in Wayne after a visit to Valley Forge. Food was very good. We ordered a starter of TGB Muscles (trippy), a Steak Mac and Cheese, a Detroit style deep dish Magic Mushroom pizza, and a kid's Gnocchi Mac and Cheese. The muscles were fresh and well prepared. I enjoyed the corn crema on them. I also loved the bread, which was perfect for dipping in the sauce. For the Steak Mac and Cheese - the steak was perfectly cooked (medium rare as requested). I only wish the pieces were slightly bigger or that they had more steak. They used a three cheese bechamel for the sauce which was very creamy. The pasta was a potato gnocchi, which was filling and delicious. They also added a little breading and some chives, which gave the dish another punch of flavor. The pizza was also very good. Incredibly filling since it was a deep dish. I ordered the 8 x 10 which was cut into 4 square slices. I loved the balsamic dressing on it! The only thing it needed was a little more goat cheese and maybe a pinch less arugula. The goat cheese in particular seemed a little lost with the other ingredients and flavors. We sat outdoors since it was a pleasant, warm evening. The downtown area is so charming! They also had very nice seating indoors as well (romantic atmosphere inside). Bathrooms were very clean. All of the staff were friendly and kind. Service was good overall but a little inattentive at times (slow to take order, didn't bring a highchair for our toddler until we asked, not always good about refilling water, etc.). Parking was free in a nearby lot since it was Sunday. Really enjoyed the experience overall. Great way to end a fun day! read more

I went for happy hour and was very pleased with the drink and food options offered at a savings. I'm a champagne or beer girl, I know what the *****? But I it is what it is. I went for River Horse Roly Poly Pilsner, glad I did it was refreshing with a slight punch. As for food I ordered, PEI Mussels there was a decent amount of the plump and tender mussels. The flavor was delicious and topped with perfectly cooked fries. This was a happy food moment for me. As for service and the decor, both were good. I was pleasantly greeted at the door and at the bar stocked with liquor for days. Bottles, bottles and more bottles. Everything was clean inside and out. The bathrooms are large, clean and gender neutral. There is a spacious bar area. Seats at the bar and several nicely designed high tops. Behind the bar wall there's a large dining area, they also have outdoor seating. I found a nice afterwork spot in lovely Wayne. I hear the also have live music twice a week, that's a plus! read more

We popped in for. Quick bite mid-week. The service was very good (we needed quick and they delivered). We just had their Detroit-style pizza (the OG). It was delicious. The ingredients were fresh, crust was nice and crispy and for a pizza with pepperoni it wasn't too salty. This is one of my new favorite restaurants! Came here tonight with my boyfriend and some family that is from out of town, so I had to pick somewhere that would impress! I chose this spot based on positive Yelp reviews. Arrived at 7pm on a Monday night and there was a light crowd (our reservations weren't needed). I love the rustic meets industrial decor. There is a lighthearted ambiance which I really love. The food selection is amazing. Definitely come here if you enjoy comfort food. The taste of the steak mac n cheese was to die for (although the steak was a touch too chewy). We also really loved the fried brownie and ice cream that we all shared for dessert. The portions are a nice size, not too small or too big. Come as yourself and enjoy a really good meal with family or friends! Can't wait to come back again. read more

The steak was fine but the mac and cheese stole the show with gnocchi as a base which was perfect for soaking up the cheese with pretzels crumbs as an extra bonus. The hot chicken was the main stand out though, with hot chicken on top of cole slaw which perfectly balanced out the spice and a piece of sourdough to soak up all the sauce. Make sure to make a reservation before you go - we were there on a Wednesday night between Christmas and New Years and saw them have to turn away people without reservations! read more

Asked for a seat away from the windows to avoid the cold and they said there were none but that a heat vent was blowing in that direction and they were right so all good. The pickled red onions? The tangy sauce? The crispy on-the-outside pillow on-the-inside crust? I dream of this pizza. - The salt and smoke jalapeno margarita was fire. Service? FAST. Atmosphere? Fun. They had the birds preseason game on. If I were local, I'd come here for a low stakes game as much as my pockets would allow. I have visited the Manayunk location many times, but I was in the Wayne area and met up with a friend to check out this location! I arrived during Happy Hour and the specials were fantastic! The starters are 1/2 off and drafts are $2 off during Happy Hour! We had the meatballs (nothing special); duck confit rolls(delicious); hummus was yummy and my gimlet cocktail was on point! We made a reservation with some friends to have dinner here on a Saturday night at 7:45. We arrive at about 7:40 and someone told my friend the table was taking longer than expected and it would be another 20 minutes yet. They offered to buy us a drink at the bar, which I was happy about. But apparently there was some confusion, I guess they thought we were a different party. Someone sat us at a table 5 minutes later. We started off with the fig ricotta appetizer. It was good but they only give you 6 pieces of bread. Luckily our waitress saw we were struggling to divide that up between the 4 of us and offered to bring us more. My friend talked me into ordering the 30 day strawberry infused tequila drink, and it was very fruity and refreshing. I was hesitant because sometimes it can be too sour or too much tequila, but this was a perfect balance. The other drinks we ordered throughout the night we great as well. For dinner I ordered the steak Mac and cheese. It came in a little skillet which didn't look like much, but it was filling. I was giving some away to my husband to save room for dessert. The gnocchis were very cheesy and creamy and had good flavor, and the sirloin was cooked well. I would have preferred a different type of meat like maybe short rib or ribeye steak though. My husband's burger was tasty as well. For dessert we got the fried brownie which was delicious. I used to love getting fried everything on the boardwalk and this reminded me of those days. Rarely give 5 stars but feel compelled to do so after 4 visits to TGB in Wayne. Each time the food, drinks and service are exceptional and this is my current favourite restaurant in the area. The Passion Plane cocktail is an incredible variation on a whisky sour and a great way to start the evening. We got the calamari and Brussels sprout appetises which were also both phenomenal! The sauce on the calamari was great. The gnocchi on the steak mac & cheese was also amazing. Contrast on the magic mushroom Detroit pizza was great as well. Highly recommend the coffee ice cream dessert (in photo). We sat inside and really liked our raised seats agains the wall. When I got in, I was told by my party that it would be twenty more minutes and they restaurant was going to buy us a round at the bar. I'm not sure who was confused, but we were seated two minutes later... This was really a nice night out and it had a pleasant environment for us to talk. The drinks were good and so was the food, but the absolute best things were the desserts. Fried Brownie? Yes, please! Almost like carnival or fair food, this brownie was flash fried and served with vanilla ice cream. On the other end of the table, was a S'mores dessert that was really impressive too. I'd love to come back and sit at the bar, grab some drinks and get that brownie again. For our meal, we split the whipped ricotta with fig jam and our server brought us some more sourdough to share. Three of us got the TGB burger, which was a solid offering. I really wanted those fries that came with it. I thought about the fish and chips, but I didn't want steak fries. We were having duck cassoulet the next day, so I didn't get the duck stir fry and I decided against the roasted half chicken, since that had the white bean cassoulet with it.. I've dined and imbibed a few times at The Goat's Beard. They have a great beer, wine, cocktail, and of course bourbon/whiskey list. My most recent visit was over the weekend. We grabbed seats at the bar and started with the sparkling rose and hummus platter. My only minor issue was the hummus to veggie was way off. We asked for additional carrot and celery. But the hummus has a nice kick to it and the crispy chickpea added wonderful texture. I noticed that they has Sazerac. I was in New Orleans in the fall and toured Sazerac. I asked if they could make the cocktail and sure enough they could. It was fantastic. For dinner we shared the roasted half chicken. It was tender, though the breast was slightly dry. However the jus was perfect with it. The service was fantastic and I love the atmosphere. It's classy without taking itself too seriously. read more

We decided to go here as a spur of the moment on a Friday night. It was definitely a full house but the wait was only 30 minutes for a table. This is a nice, small, cozy establishment but there are plenty of tables indoors and outdoors. Since the dining area is smaller, you end up sitting close to other tables which isn't a big deal. The only downside is that everyone has to talk pretty loud due to ongoing conversations at other tables will drown you out. If you are looking for a quiet place to eat this is not the place for you. We order a calamari appetizer, the steak Mac n' cheese along the hot chicken. Everything came out pretty quickly and for waitress brought everything out in a timely manner (unlike some restaurants that bring out your appetizer and meal at the same time). A few pieces of the calamari were a bit over cooked and chewy but it was still pretty good flavor wise. The hot chicken was also pretty tasty and it was definitely a larger portion. The Mac n cheese was definitely our favorite by far, we absolutely recommend it. The gnocchi used in it was absolutely fresh, the cheese sauce and the steak we also tasty. I could definitely throw down that Mac n cheese without the steak ( if you're reading this, put it on the menu ). We will be coming back here and if you haven't been, we absolutely recommend you at least give it a try and order the steak Mac n cheese! read more

Food was good. I had the smashed burger. My husband had soup and salad. We both had a drink. Bill came, there was a charge that said, Back House Fee for $2.90. We asked waitress what that charge was for and she said "instead of raising the prices that is a charge for the people who make the dough and sauces". WHAT?? Omg, everyone has gone nuts since covid! They would have made out better raising the prices .50,instead of insulting customers with that charge, which is 3%. I waited for the people next to us to get there bill. They were asking the same thing about the charge. They agreed with us. It's not the money, it's the principle. They lost and will lose business. read more
