I had the lamb chops which were fantastic and we both had a Caesar salad which was served with crunchy bread crumbs rather than the usual croutons which was a great touch.. they gave us complimentary champagne to start the mail and a special dessert to finish. Tuesday 5:15 reservation for Dad's 87th bday and as expected not very crowded. Though the lot was empty we still had to use Valet to park. Greeted warmly on a cold day we were seated in main room. Comfortable and not noisy but lots of activity around us. Started with some Golden Fried Artichokes and they were plentiful and crispy good. We ordered the International Cheese Trolley and were given choices for the cheeses. Each was very tasty and the board was complimented with some fruits and nuts. Dad had the Beet & Citrus Salad and the portion was perfect and he enjoyed it. He then had Braised Short Rib and it was a very large portion and he said melted in his mouth. I had the Day Boat Scallops and they were healthy portions (see pic), down right savory and were grilled perfectly. Others had the Faroe Island Salmon and it was cooked wonderfully and was a good portion. For dessert I had a Pumpkin Tiramisu that was very creamy and dad had a Carmel Crunch Brownie he loved. We were party of four with reservations for 6:30 pm on a Friday evening. We were promptly greeted at the door and seated immediately. Our waiter took our beverage order and was extremely knowledgable about the evening's special. The ambiance was relaxed and calm with a very different vibe. Absolutely a relaxed night out for the four of us. The food was served hot and it's noticeable that fresh ingredients are used for meal preparation. The server offered us a nice choice of desserts and coffee which were very good as well. Overall, I would definitely recommend Savona. The valet parking is a nice touch as well. I always drive by this restaurant and finally had the opportunity to eat here. To be honest, it was a bit underwhelming. First, you need to have your car parked by valet. I'm not the biggest fan of such a thing but I did as requested. I noticed that they left my car unlocked which made me concerned already. When getting seated, no one greeted us in a friendly manner or offered to take our coats. Considering this establishment states that it is a luxurious dining experience, offering a smile and a coat check would be nice. They do have a coat check and asked the people in front of us just simply not myself and my dining partner. Once seated, we had to wait for some time to have our waitress come. She was very nice but she was also very soft-spoken so it was hard to hear her. The food was just fine. The complimentary focaccia was very fluffy and tasty when dipped in the provided olive oil. The fried calamari were quite chewy and the aftertaste was very oily. Not the good kind of oil flavor but somewhat overused frying oil taste. I ordered a shrimp and shells pasta dish and it was alright. The shrimp were a little tough and chewy and the pasta did not taste homemade. My partner had the duck which I believe he enjoyed but I didn't taste so I cannot comment on that. We had the caramel crunch brownie as a dessert and oh boy. It was *so* sweet that my tongue would not stop tingling for a minute. I am a sweets/desserts-fanatic but that brownie dessert was one of the worst desserts I have ever had at a restaurant. The big question: Would I come back? The prices do not justify the quality of the food nor the ambiance and service so no, unlikely. We had our department holiday luncheon for 15 in the wine cellar. The atmosphere was lovely. Christina Baridis was very helpful in the reservation and planning of our event. Aunya took care of our group in a friendly and professional manner. We started with charcuterie and crudités. We had a specific menu. Each person had the Forge Hill Field Green Salad then the choice of Scottish Salmon, Barolo Braised Local Angus Short Rib, or Pasta Primavera. We finished with dessert of pastry chef's seasonal duo. We recently made reservations with Savona for Valentine's Day. We had never been before, but they had good reviews, so we figured we'd give them a try. Nestled in between King of Prussia and Villanova, the restaurant is housed in a historic building that adds to the sophisticated atmosphere. The romantic ambience of the night helped make our dinner special. The service was attentive, knowledgeable, and professional. The food itself was exceptionally outstanding. For our starters, we had the Whipped Ricotta, and the Calamari Fritti. Both delicious beyond measure. For dinner, we partook in their Valentine's Day Special: Squid Ink Ravioli stuffed with shrimp, crab, scallops, mascarpone, and lemon juice, served with Shrimp Vodka sauce, wood fired Shrimp, and beautiful pan seared scallops. This dish was one of the best entrees we have enjoyed in many years. For dessert, we enjoyed their Blood Orange Crème Brûlée and Caramel Crunch Brownie, both great finishers that went along nicely with our after dinner Espresso and Americano. For our drinks, we enjoyed their Winter Solstice Spritz and Fig Whiskey Sour, both delicious additions to an already amazing dinner. You know a restaurant is good when it gets through a recession & a pandemic. It's old school and contemporary at the same time. Cocktail menu is limited but what they serve was delicious. Menu is unique and has a nice variety of foods which seem to change seasonally. We loved the artichoke appetizer and the house and arugula salad. The scallops were cooked perfectly and came on a corn succotash. The limoncello panacotta was light, refreshing and decadent all in one bite! Service was attentive but not pushy. We had a nice team dinner at Savona on a Tuesday evening. First impressions are 'local gem', beautiful building and nicely appointed inside. Service is professional (maybe a little overly, a smile or sign of personality would have been nice too). You have no choice but to valet your car despite the huge parking lot - ironically, you have to carefully navigate a tight alleyway of junk on your way out. Maybe the valet station is in the wrong place. The downstairs cellar and dungeon bathrooms are unique. Beverage program is well thought through and ties nicely with the menu - which seems Italian-ish + American. They sat our incomplete party (4 of 6), and while drinks were flowing, we were not permitted to order any apps - that 'professional' service sternly informed us that the entire order needed to be entered together. Fine. Eventually everyone sat and the order went in. The food was done very well, and timing was comfortable. For starters, we had the oysters, a pizza, calamari and octopus - all very good. For a main, I had the Berkshire porterhouse chop, which was over cooked, but otherwise well seasoned and delicious. We were not offered a temp option. Deserts were good - I regret not doing a cheese course, maybe next time. We had a round at the bar on the way out - despite constantly being in the way of everyone, it eventually quieted down enough to enjoy some conversation with our party. This review should've been made sooner, however, I want to take the time now to thank the entire Savona staff for their hospitality and attention to detail during my engagement last June. I was completely surprised and blown away with the service from the time we arrived to the time we left. We were seated upstairs near their wine wall which was a bit quieter for us to enjoy our meal. We first enjoyed oysters (they were shucked cleaned and extremely fresh. Best around in my opinion), followed by our main entree which was the crab risotto. Hands down the best risotto we both have ever had (my fiancé and I both had gotten the same dish). We finished our evening with champagne and the proposal! I wish I could mention their dessert but we were too excited and occupied with our news and had a surprise engagement party to attend after our meal. Such a charming find that I'd love to try again next time we are back in PA. We were a little rushed so we couldn't really take in the ambiance as much as we would have liked. Eggplant Parmesan was incredible. My partner enjoyed the steak but really liked the mushrooms. The only thing that didn't set well was the 15 minute wait for acknowledgement from our waiter. We headed over on a Tuesday around 6 and dinned at the bar. The bar only had two other people so we decided we would dine there. Savona KOP is a bit outside the main town. Somewhere i drive by all the time getting on I-76. On an impulsive online purchase, i signed up for a $170 rose wine tasting, 6 courses with 6 wines, the wines were all interesting and the sommelier-led discussions lively. We started with Cremant (like champagne but any other grape from France) and moved through fruity, floral, full bodied wine, and ended with a sweet dessert wine. The food paired well to highlight the wine, and the standout was the BBQ quail. The pours were generous and I came back for my car the next day. So I may as well stay for lunch. Eggplant parm was amazing, a whole eggplant crushed, breaded and fried. The center was rich and edges were crispy. The soggy american version is ruined for me forever. read more

My family and I came here last night to celebrate a friend's birthday, and it was just as fabulous as our last experience! The ambiance is modern and classy. It really is a great spot for a special night out, but they also have great apps/pizzas so you could just come sit at the bar for a more casual vibe. They change there menu seasonally, which means there is always something new to try! The bread for the table is SO GOOD! I love the olive oil they put with it and the texture is perfect. For starters, we shared the shrimp cocktail, calamari, and fried artichokes! All were 5 stars. I actually liked the sauce that came with the artichokes the best and was dipping my calamari in it! For my entree, I had the risotto, which came with jumbo lump crab, and almost a Mexican style spicy salsa. It was delicious! I ate every bit and would definitely order this again. Everyone loved their meals and we shared the caramel crunch brownie. If you are a chocolate/caramel lover, you need to try this dessert! It was so good and the crunchy bits really made it. I dined here last night with family. My aunt was looking forward as she watched the construction in this place. Parking: complimentary valet. One-way entrance and exit. Ava was the hostess and was nice. There was a mix-up with our reservation. The reservation was made to dine inside, but the hostess sat us outside under a large tent that didn't have adequate heat for its size. If you don't like being out in the cold, make sure your reservation is for indoor dining. After further review, they moved us inside. Atmosphere: low light and moderate noise. Service: Maura was our server. She checked on us; however, service was very slow. Food: My cousin ordered lamb meat balls as an appetizer. The lamb meatballs came out Luke warm and lacked flavor. She ordered the lobster risotto and said she enjoyed it. The rest of us selected food off of the restaurant week menu. Two of us selected the Caesar salad, short ribs, and lemon pound cake. The food came out a little hotter than the meatballs. The meat was tender. The flavor level was low. Spinach came with the meal, and it was okay. A starch wasn't included, so I ordered Crispy potatoes. The potatoes came out very hot!!! No seasoning. My aunt ordered the chicken breast from the restaurant week menu. She said the chicken breast was tender; however, the broccoli rabe that came with it wasn't good We all selected the lemon pound cake, and it didn't taste like pound cake. It was not moist. Savona's was a lovely dining experience with great customer service and friendly staff. The atmosphere was a little on the loud side and the lighting was dim. Overall the food was delicious, unique, and very rich. I would even say the food was too rich but that's just my opinion. Definitely worth trying. We had the octopus and a couple of other appetizers, followed by Rohan Duck Breast and Mafaldine as entrees, with the caramel crunch brownie for dessert. We have had scallops many times before, but never paired so interestingly! Perfectly cooked, as well. My father got the spaghetti with meatballs , as he prefers more "meat and potatoes" and he was raving about the flavors. We absolutely recommend checking out this place. Additionally, and the reason for this review, is the arrogance of telling guests they cannot order apps until the entire party is seated. 2 of our guests were delayed 20 mins and while awaiting their arrival we asked to order apps. Savona is like a mini Napa Valley tucked in the middle of a small town in PA. Driving past the side of the restaurant on the curved ramp was quite nostalgic and romantic. Feels like Napa Valley with the twisty hills. The restaurant itself is an older establishment, with a lot of history. The wine cellar on the lower level is like a walk into Napa with walls filled with wines galore, wine barrels, rustic spaces and architecture. We hosted a baby sprinkle for one of our close friends at their wine cellar room. The service and assistance here was phenomenal. We had one main server throughout the event. But all the servers helped us with decorations, spacing of chairs, taking away unneeded tableware, and literally little tasks like hiding the cardboard boxes. They checked on the guest and the planners frequently and made sure we were taken care of. Food was good but not extravagant. I've had better Italian food. The fried artichoke was lightly salty and crispy and I liked it a lot. I also liked their short rib as it was fall off the bone tender over a bed of sautéed spinach and crispy onion rings. The dessert, in my opinion, was somewhat disappointing. Display wise, pretty. But I was tempted to wonder if it was once frozen from the box. Stopped in here with family for brunch during MDW. It wasn't as busy as we expected but it was a pleasant surprise to find they had a Jazz band there. We sat in what I'd describe as the main room and our waiter was friendly. Two of us ordered frittatas and another the waffle. The frittatas were huge and came with tasty home fries. The waffle was a little smaller and actually came with real vanilla ice cream on top. We also had a side of bacon which was actually perfectly crispy.
