We stoped by after wine tasting just before 2 pm. They welcomed us as if we were family. Amazing service and company. For the record, they are closed between 2-4 pm. Make sure you get there early for the most amazing food in NORCAL. Food: The menu has a wide variety for everyone. On this day, we chose the Carne Asada Fries. Hands down the best any of us tasted. There were four of us and we all shared it and all equally satisfied. It's a meal on its own. Do not pass this up! We each order sandwiches; Turkey Club and Pastrami Reuben. Both with sweet potatoes. We asked if we could share the sandwiches. They quickly and very friendly said, of course. All four of us enjoyed our 1/2 sandwiches. One of us stated they were the best he has tasted in over 20 years. Every one of us was exceedingly pleased with our meals. We will be making this a regular stop on our wine tasting journeys. What a lovely little gem!! The only wine and beers on their menu are local - which I love!! The soups were divine - we had the lobster bisque and potato. I ordered the lamb persillade and my husband had the NY strip steak. We also ordered the bacon brussels sprouts. My lamb was cooked perfectly and not overly seasoned. My husband's steak was a beautiful cut of meat, cooked perfectly, but way over salted for my taste. The rolls were fresh out of the over and delish! The brussels sprouts yummy. The meals were served with what appeared to be frozen broccoli, which detracted a bit from the farm to fork vibe, but it was cooked well, so not reason to hate on it too much! This place is the most quaint little restaurant. From the road it didn't look like much. We gave it a go after having a tasting next door at the Polynesian Girl wine room next door. The Gold Vine is an absolute gem. Very relaxing atmosphere and very good service. Everything is well thought out and cooked fresh to order. I rarely order a meatloaf dish and am almost always disappointed. This dish was amazing and tasted nothing like any other meatloaf I have ever had. Simply perfect as was the silky creamy mashed potatoes and gravy. The broccoli side was cooked perfectly. I have been wanting to come here after sampling their food at a tasting event at Polynesian Girl Winery next door. We were served and greeted warmly by Piper. I ordered the Codzilla. The food is delicious and the service attentive and knowledgeable (Thank you Piper!). We ordered the stuffed sausage mushrooms, sweet and savory ribs, French dip, and Chimichurri flank steak along with a house salad, clam chowder, and a jambalaya-style soup. Everything was one of the best we have ever had and the portions were more than generous. The ribs were perfectly cooked and the sauce a great balance of sweet and savory -it wasn't quite BBQ but something more unique and delicious. The flank steak was well-marinated and medium rare- perfect! The French dip had just the right amount of rosemary and was made even better paired with a glass of Sangiovese. The mushrooms were filling and sausage perfectly cooked and seasoned. Our only feedback would be the ambiance could be shifted to better align with the name and fare of the restaurant vs the current beach theme. A few coats of a dark red or earthy brown/gray paint inside (matte or eggshell sheen -no gloss!) would make an instant difference and elevate the space to match the caliber of the food and service. Regardless, I highly recommend this restaurant and will be making an effort to come back even though it's totally out of my way! P.S. Owners- I'm not sure who your customers are during the week, but my impression of the area was it might not be as packed as it could be. Might you consider offering a limited/lower cost menu during the week and then offering your full menu on weekends? Lisa and Piper are the mom and daughter duo, and they made our night so special and fun. We can't wait to come back! Overall, it was reminiscent of hanging out at your best friend's house and having mom cook for everyone. But that mom is a classically trained chef who's traveled around the world. My partner and I walked in and grabbed a table by the window. Apparently we were on the family side, but on the right, there's another bar and more tables, and that's more of the romantic side. We like kids so we liked where we were at. We started with the complimentary bread and a honey pumpkin butter. There's a secret ingredient in it they wouldn't tell us. It was delicious and we continued to eat the butter after the bread was gone. For appetizer, we had the spicy tom Kai green lip mussels over rice in coconut milk. The mussels were tender and the lemongrass really came through in the coconut milk. We inhaled it. My partner got the New York strip. His was perfectly medium rare. The sauce was peppery and decadent. The asparagus was throughly cooked while still remaining crisp. I got the stuffed acorn squash. The maple syrup over the cranberries and quinoa, paired with the char of the acorn was comforting. The thyme really came through. It was cozy dish, appropriate for the winter season. We had every intention of just having two glasses of the Vino Noceto Sangiovese... but we drank an entire bottle. Obviously, we recommend that wine. We split the pumpkin cheesecake and that was divine. We also bought a box of turtles to go. We were the last customers, and we got the opportunity to hang out with Lisa and Piper and the crew. What an amazing team! So we learned the following: Everything served is locally sourced and basically farm to table. Everything is inspired after decades of Lisa's traveling. Though there is American fair of burgers and fish tacos, which is very common in the area, the menu changes seasonally. That said, there's always something new and interesting you can't find anywhere else. IMO, the menu is innovative and inspiring. The local farmers, winemakers, and other businesses are spotlighted throughout. Just ask Piper. She literally knows everything. Where this ingredient comes from. What this wine tastes like. Which beer would go well with what. She even shared with us about all the wine tasting in Shenandoah Valley, which we had no clue about. We left stuffed, happy we made new friends, and excited to explore all their recommendations. We already made plans to come back for brunch. Absolutely amazing lunch today! The golden beet salad with grilled peaches and burrata was amazing! The dressing was awesome, the produce was local. The shrimp I added to my salad was the juiciest and tastiest shrimp I have ever had and I have traveled all over trying seafood. Too die for! My husband had the Lisa Burger which is the biggest burger I've ever seen with pastrami and bacon on it. He ate the whole thing and loved every bite. The server is so sweet and helpful. I absolutely love her. I really like what they are doing here with locally sourced ingredients and a recycle program for leftover food to feed local animals instead of throwing it in the trash. My husband and I were in the area wine tasting and checking up on our newly purchased property near by. We were starving! We always pass by the Gold Vine bistro but never really looked into whats really there. My husband is very picky since he is a vegetarian who doesn't eat fish or eggs and I eat only that so choosing a place to eat where we both are happy its a challenge. I convinced him to stop and see whats over there. We we both very impressed with the food, service and ambiance. Very cute place that clearly the locals love. The food was amazing better than what we ate in Sonoma the day before! Everything was fresh and the micro greens were the highlight of the meal. The owner grows them in house and they not only look pretty but it ads a great flavor to the food. I can't say enough great things. Came here with family for weekend lunch. Every table was full. The seating is cozy. Cute couple tables out front, along with beautiful flower beds. The waitress was very personable, attentive but also gave us our space to relax and chat. I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting the food to be this good. I got the pastrami Reuben and I literally ate every last bite. The pastrami was juicy but crispy on the edges, sauerkraut was awesome, but the local fresh heirloom tomatoes from mama earth farm was what made the entire sandwich. Sweet potato fries were crispy and perfectly salted. When we had first walked in they have a dessert fridge next to the door that stopped me in my tracks. The desserts they had looked beautiful. So naturally we got a slice of the cookies and cream cake and biscoff cake which were so good. The ganache in the center of the cookies and cream was delicious but my favorite was the tiramisu. Amazing food and ambience! Service is top notch as well! Two different "themed" dining rooms to choose from and a seasonal menu that doesn't disappoint. Their risottos are always cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Tough to narrow down their "best" dish because everything is excellent here. A few of my favorites, just to name a few; are their various seasonal salmon dishes, fish tacos, lion's main appetizer (when available), Guinness pot roast and their clam chowder and lobster bisque are also great! Various other soups to choose from and they are all great. (I think I have had them all) Portions are definitely generous, bread is always fresh, with usually one or two different infused butters to choose from. Above all, it's apparent that their dishes are made with the kindness, love and care they genuinely possess and share, which is made known the second you walk in the door. Desserts are always great as well, wine and beer list is awesome and I almost forgot to mention that their dishes are all topped with fresh, hydroponic herbs, along with a quick description of what they are and what to expect in terms of flavor.
