I've visited Asheboro my entire life and this is the first time I've been to The Golden Waffle. My family (of 6) and I visited on a weeknight for dinner. Let's just say this place is POPULAR and does not easily accommodate large families or groups. Old fashioned diner style restaurant with booths and bar seating. I believe there were a few tables in the corner but we sat in a booth and pulled up a chair. It wasn't comfortable but the food and customer service made up for it! We ordered a mixture of dinner and breakfast food and most everything was amazing. I would definitely say the breakfast food won. I mean it's called the golden waffle after all. The waffles here steal the show and loved the texture of them. Thin but with a great texture and flavor. My girls and I loved the chocolate chip waffle too. My sister very much enjoyed the loaded hash browns (although I can't remember the correct menu name). They were topped with cheese, peppers, and onions. The customer service here is top notch. Everyone was so welcoming, accommodating to every request and question, and made the experience so much more enjoyable. Can't say enough about that!! Cute diner open 24 hours in Asheboro! They have a large menu with a large variety of breakfast food served all day as well as lunch and dinner options. The staff and waitresses were very accommodating and showed amazing customer service. The restaurant was totally full, but almost no wait time and got our food very quickly. We came out for a cabin retreat, and decided to stop for breakfast on our way home... and were pleasantly surprised. Service was great and efficient, location was CLEAN, and food was made to order, hot and delicious. My partner and I are real serious about our breakfast spots, and this place passed with flying colors. Affordable and open 24 hrs... you really can't beat it. We got waffles, eggs (scrambled soft ), turkey sausage, hash browns, and OJ.... And cleaned our plates. When we went It was a Sunday at lunch and it was packed in there, yes We waited about 30 minutes. But let me tell you once we sit down it was an amazing meal. The staff is perfect, the food was perfect, I will say that time of day it was a great environment for kids and family. Just wanted to say thank you to the wait staff (BRB)! I will have to say this that the wait was well worth it. Once you get sit down you're not feeling rushed or stressed. Food was as expected, nothing to write home about. What stood out with this restaurant is how incredibly dirty it is! I've not seen flys like this in a restaurant in a long time. Spent most of my time battling the flys which is indicative of further problems with food storage... flys everywhere, over all surfaces. Three roaches seen crawling behind coffee station on the wall, and one red one on the serving station of the coffee area. Want to like this place but too dirty for me. Floor behind counter was sickening and area around food cooking station is nasty. This place needs a DEEP cleaning before someone gets sick! read more

The food at Golden Waffle is wonderful. My favorite is the strawberry waffle with whip cream. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner and it's always open. The wattress's are very friendly and fast. The cooks prepare orders very fast and efficiently. The ambiance is always very friendly and happy. It is always very busy so if you go at mealtime be prepared to wait on a booth. read more

The Golden Waffle is an Asheboro staple. Aside from Walmart, it's about the only place open in Asheboro past 9pm. They have really good and consistent food, and their waffles are the huge ones with the small indentations, for lack of a more accurate description. :) Although, not touted as such, the Golden Waffle is a great place to experiment with unfamiliar Southern cousin. For instance, I once tried "Brains and Eggs" there and they have a lot of other things on the menu which aren't readily available elsewhere. The Brains and Eggs were actually very good, despite the rather unusual appearance...(in my opinion). The servers are very industrious at all hours and always quick to resolve a problem or help, should there be an issue. They are however, apt to call you "honey" or "sweetie", which in a sense, adds to their Southern charm. The expectation when going there would be to get a standard Southern meal. The Strawberry Waffles, which I usually order, are very syrupy and sweet, with a lot of whipped cream on top of them. At any rate, try it out if you stop by Asheboro! read more

I would never recommend The Golden Waffle to anyone because me & my mom ate there abd the waitress messed up our order. I asked for chili cheese fries & didnt get them. My mom asked for cheese fries but recieved regular fries. Once i actually got my chili cheese fries, the chili was cold & tasted horrible. It made me sick.
