I rarely believe yelp reviews and go by word of mouth. This dry cleaner was recommended to me by a friend and I can't tell you how elated I am with their service, especially Paul's. I came in with a grease stain on my favorite skirt that another dry cleaner had failed to get out. I subsequently made it worse by trying to do it myself and essentially thought I'd ruined it for good. I had been told Paik would give it to me straight and he did. He was thorough, asked what the stains were, the type of material and if it was dyed. He said he would try, but couldn't guarantee. My people, he did it. $200 skirt looks brand new again. This dry cleaner has literally managed twice in a row to stick needles through the fabric of a designer skirt in order to hang it up - the first time I told them and they fixed / promised that it wouldn't happen again and second time same shit again. The needles have left actual holes in the fabric for nothing!!!! Don't bring your good stuff there! read more

UPDATED. They're nice people and remember me when I haven't been there in a month - which is why I've been willing to tolerate above-market prices even for the neighborhood. Their work has never been anything special - just on time, convenient, and sufficient - which is good enough for this type of service. And the tailoring services - well, I can't speak to them because they've never accepted the simplest repair, claiming it all to be too delicate. See below for examples. Maybe if your clothes are made of sack cloth they'll help you. But the last straw for me was this: if you're going to charge nearly $30 to clean a simple silk sheath cocktail dress (not a gown, folks- simple silk chiffon sleeveless halter dress with asymmetrical hem that is below the knee on one side - hence accruing an $11 surcharge for being 'long'), don't deliver it wrinkled. Edited review to remove a term that was unintentionally insulting to the seamstress I never met - and added a couple of star because I respect that they stand up for their people. I can't say the quality of her work - I can only say the establishment considers simple repairs to typical, casual garments too delicate to risk - the pieces they turned down included hemming an All Saints silk shirt and replacing a button on a Rails linen shirt. My clothes are not made of fairy wings. The remaining review is accurate as written. I don't doubt they'd have redone the dress if I brought it in - like I said, they're nice people. But they did deliver it wrinkled - and for nearly $30 to clean a simple silk dress - I shouldn't have to. read more

Exceptional Normally I wouldn't have much to say about my dry cleaner; Paul and this place are exceptional. I only have my clothes dry cleaned here (I do my own laundry); my clothes are always returned in impeccable condition and delivered to my building well within the agreed upon time. Paul is always friendly, professional, and on top of everything. The guy working there was very polite and offered to pick up and drop off the clothes from my apartment. He was also kind enough to give a laundry bag the first time I used the laundry service. The pick up was between 8 and 9 AM and drop off is on the same day between 4 and 5 PM. The only caveat is that I think they take the clothes further to a cheaper laundry place. Nevertheless, the pickup-wash-fold-dropoff on the same day is not bad for thirteen bucks. read more

This is by far the best dry cleaner and wash & fold I've ever encountered in New York (I've tried at least 7 in the west village and 4 in Brooklyn Heights). Firstly, the whole store team is super friendly and remembers exactly who you are. They even gave me a branded bag with a strap when they saw I was struggling to carry my laundry bag! Secondly, there are no extra charges for things like "separate colors and whites" for wash & fold. Yes, the average price per pound is a little higher than the average corner shop but they really look after your clothes. In the two years I've been a customer I've never had a piece of clothing get lost, damaged or fade. They also offer "hang dry" for silks/ delicates that can be washed but not dried in dryers for no extra charge. And finally, they were able to repair a dress very special to me which had ripped (had a 3 inch hole along the seam) for $5-$10 and turned it around super quickly. read more

They are flexible with doing wash and fold or hang dry, which we really needed. When I first moved to the WV, I was trying to find a place that was great at doing my laundry and dry cleaning (im very particular), I used a couple places until I used The Good Earth Cleaners. They provide fantastic service, are super friendly, fast turn around, and great price. I've been going to paul for the last year and wont use another cleaner in the city. I am so disenchanted with this place that I've gone so far as to take the time to retrieve my password, re-download the app and actively write the first review I've ever actually had the desire to write in the 4 years I've had this account. I've lived all over the city and have dealt with the hell that is finding a quality laundry drop off place multiple times over, but The Good Earth is by FAR one of the worst I've tried. The first time I went to drop off about 10 lbs of laundry and 6 dry cleaning pieces (nothing crazy, a few white cotton dresses and cotton blouses with some makeup stains) I had complete sticker shock at the over $100 total it would cost to pick up my clothes. I was in a pinch and headed out of town a few days later and had read all of the fantastic reviews here, so decided against better judgement to cut my losses and pay the price. Upon picking up my clothes, I found that none of my dry clean pieces were in the pristine condition I would've expected for the price. My wash and fold was decently clean, despite still spotting a few stains on T-shirts and some denim. A couple weeks later with another impending trip and lack of time to research an alternative, I decided to give them a second chance to redeem themselves, again, against better judgement. For 13 lbs of laundry, my total was $21. I picked up my laundry at closing just last night, only to come home and discover that my makeup stained bath towel still had makeup all over it, my entire lingerie bag of undergarments appeared to have hardly been moved around, and everything white in the bag had retained even the most mild of stains. Absolutely pathetic for a place that charges this price. I would expect this from another cleaners nearby on 7th Ave. But the remote west village address and "organic" claims do not justify charging the prices they charge, in exchange for absolute shit service. Will never be going back here again. [Edit in response to owner]: Clearly my review was not read. These were VERY minimal stains that would have easily been removed by any dry cleaner in my old neighborhood across town. Additionally, nearly everything in my drop off appeared in the same condition upon pickup. Such poor quality service for your ridiculous prices are inexcusable. read more

Probably the nicest, cleanest and most comfortable dry cleaners i've ever been to... I went here to drop off some stuff - my last place kept leaving stains and losing clothes - and the two guys working the place were friendly, attentive, and helpful. I got my shirts and pants back in no time, and they were clean and all accounted for! Competitive pricing and someplace i'd be very comfortable leaving clothing - the place looks like a Village cafe! Got a few pieces cleaned, hemmed and patched. The cleaning was fine, but the review is about the hemmed and patched pants. The work was done, but done a little sloppily. There were loose strands of string everywhere, both for the hem and the patch. Fortunately, I reviewed the work before leaving the store, so I asked them to clean up the loose ends, and they did. Hopefully everything remains tight and doesn't loosen or fall apart anytime soon. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Good Earth Cleaners. Like most people in the neighborhood, I do not have a washer and dryer in my building so I send it out for wash and fold every other week. They pick it up at my door and drop it off the next day. They are also diligent about following any special instructions such as hang drying delicate items. Wow! Last minute same day wash and fold! Customer service at its finest! I called on the same day before 8:30am and the laundry was picked up, by 7:30pm my laundry (including) my dry cleaning was dropped off at my apartment. You can request for your clothes to be left by your door if you won't be home. My clothes aren't left stiff nor were they folded sloppy and I appreciate that type of service. I normally don't write reviews but I have decided to write because this place has been so wonderful to me for many years. Both Paul and Manuel are very kind, attentive, friendly, and hard workers. Paul is always making the best effort to meet my requests. I'm very picky, so when stain is not completely removed, I ask for the 2nd shot. Paul is always willing to try again, but at the same time, he advises me when to stop to avoid ruining the fabric by overdoing. Some cleaners had ruined my cloths by overdoing it or using strong chemicals but at this place, that has never happened. I feel very comfortable bringing any clothes here. There are so many dry cleaners in the city but I come all the way to this place! I don't know other employees names, but they are all very nice and kind, too.
