Great lunch today with amazing, friendly service. I had the Reuben with fries and was happy to find it not only delicious but an actual normal meal size not some gigantic oversized plate. We also had a Black Beauty burger (asked for the horse radish on the side...no problem) and I am told the coleslaw was very good. We went for lunch but will be back to try the huge breakfast menu. In addition to what's on the regular menu they had two boards of specials including specialty pancakes, french toast and sausage gravy. We took ages to settle on our orders with almost too many choices. read more

Stumbled across this gem while out exploring today, a small diner in the heart of Westfield. I arrived just before the lunch hour and it was pretty packed. I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by a young guy server. He had a great attitude and eagerness to help. The menu is pretty extensive for a small diner but I settled on the Library which came with two eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, home style potatoes and French toast. It was so good! Everything was fresh, hot, and cooked to near perfection. The food came out super fast, the server kept my cup full and checked on me often (but not too often). A great spot to grab breakfast or brunch (the close at 2). Give this place a shot, you won't be disappointed. read more

Sister and I went there for breakfast and to have our weekly chat. I have eggs Florentine and she had a muffin the food was delicious. The service was good. I thought the little rushed though. I also thought it was a bit pricey I'm not talking about the food. I'm talking about the coffee. 299 for coffee. I thought that was a bit much even though they were free refills. Everything was priced à la cart I assume the coffee came with the meal. Would I go there again? Of course I would. The food was really good. The economy is terrible though. People say it's not. I don't blame the restaurant for what they charge. I found it kind of odd that the waitress would ask me if I wanted to changefrom a $22 bill and I gave her $40. I don't think an $18 tip was warranted. I did however, leave her six dollars and some change which I thought was sufficient. read more

Went to the Good Table as my husband has been nagging me to go out to breakfast for some time and the reviews were excellent. First, the service was excellent. Staff was polite, quick and attentive without being annoying. The ambiance is that of any breakfast place, but I found this place to be struggling with cleanliness. There was a solid layer of crumbs gluing my table to the wall and my husbands silverware was greasy. We got our food and my shredded hash browns were cold and I found a hair under them. It looked like someone's cats hair and it was on the edge not touching much of anything so I just pulled it out. I have a cat and can get over it. I got the hash Benedict and the hollandaise sauce was not real and had become gritty likely from it cooling or reheating. It didn't have any real flavor. The hash was okay, but had the consistency of wet cat food and didn't resemble any cut of meat that it once was. The English muffin underneath was not toasted so it just ended up soaking all the grease out of the hash and had the consistency of a sponge. Also, I saw them through the kitchen window put their giant Tupperware of hollandaise back in the fridge. The wait staff were good but the food was not. Sad day. read more

Located on a quaint side street in downtown area. Stopped by mid morning of a holiday. Had to walk through dining area to go to back to sign in. Wait not too bad. Breakfast and lunch options available until 2 pm. Our party opted to go the breakfast route. Omelette thin and could have used more stuffings. Breakfast burrito tasty. French toast a little dry. went in and ordered 2 egg sandwiches to go. Waitress asked if I wanted home fries or hash browns. I said neither, I'm a type II diabetic. Bill was $19.99 for 2 tiny sandwiches because she charged me for 2 orders of potatoes even though they were still on the grill when I left. I'm sure they charged the next potato patrons AGAIN even though I had already paid for them. Mediocre sandwiches to begin with which would have tasted better I she had charged me an a la carte price!! Place smelled funky presumably from carpeting that appears to be from the Regan administration. These small shops survive somehow on history and loyalty, certainly not on the food quality or service. They got their pound of flesh from me yesterday. Hope they are happy about that, it will be they last time they have that opportunity. read more

Found The Good Table through Yelp. Had about 8 groups ahead of us when we arrived, Sunday around 1045 A.M. The wait time was very reasonable. I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich and a side of biscuits with gravy. Food was great, service was as well. Our waitress was very friendly and capable. I love pretty restaurants designed for the feminine taste. This joint is in one of the super lux upscale suburbs of Montreal. I went there to kill time while waiting for my record producer. This is the kind of place that makes me wonder why the Legeres ever left Canada. Excellent food, impeccable service, gorgeous unpretentious, sun drenched decor and lots of interesting looking women eating as if eating was the most important thing in the world. I loved it. Came on Mother's Day for a nice family style breakfast. Welcomed very friendly, and given a menu with a great selection of the general American breakfast items plus their own twists (e.g crabby Benedict). I ordered the Three Cheese omelette and added kielbasa and a pancake, my mother had the eggs Benedict. Food came out surprisingly quick and it was downright fantastic. The Benedict's hollandaise was creamy and tangy and the homefries were fresh and flavorful. The omelette was melt in your mouth and the cheese and kielbasa worked very well together. Tried this place because of the rave reviews and it was just an average breakfast. The only thing that stuck out as above average was their hash browns. Due to this and a decent juice selection, I gave it 4 stars. You need to sign in and then wait to be seated. Although, you will see plenty of empty seats and the opportunity for them to move tables apart just a few inches to seat more parties of two.. it won't happen. Prepare to wait maybe 15 minutes if it's two of you but you'll be seated promptly with a larger party. I don't understand why they insist on keeping so many tables empty when there are people to fill the seats but I guess if people haven't walked out yet, it will continue. It is what it is- a local breakfast place for the locals. read more

The Good Table is a great little restaurant found on the side streets of Westfield, MA. It's located on School Street, just off of West Elm, in the downtown area. Good Table is open 7 days a week from 6am - 2pm, and they serve up all of your classic breakfast and lunch specials. During the early morning hours this place is packed with locals, but by lunchtime the crowd thins out. The food is excellent, and the servers are very friendly. I've been here a few times for breakfast, and enjoyed Apple Cinnamon French Toast (YUM!!!), or the Asparagus Benedict. The menu is full of pancakes, waffles, French toast, benedicts, breakfast sandwiches, and the usual assortment of omelettes and regular egg dishes. Some of the names are quite humorous, like the Politician omelette, which is a 3-egg omelette stuffed with ham, bacon, sausage, and your choice of cheese. (In their words, this omelette is full of it!) During this last visit, I went to the Good Table for lunch, and the menu has wraps, melts, sandwiches, burgers, homemade soups and salads, and some daily specials. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak, and was pleasantly surprised by this delicious sandwich of grilled, shaved steak with onions and peppers, topped with Mozzarella, and served with thick-cut fries. This is one of the best breakfast places i have ever attended. Quick service and amazing food. The family owned business is ran correctly and is efficient without cutting corners. Dean is one of my favorite waiters as he is always making sure you're all set and is quick as a rabbit. Whether its take out, dine-in, 6 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. the food is great. So glad we decided to take a step out of our comfort zone and try a new place last weekend! A quaint space with a homey feel. We didn't have to wait too long considering it was a Sunday morning. Gave us plenty of time to peruse the menu on the wall. Service was quick and to the point, while the food came out fast and hot! I love the list of unique omelettes that they have and I'm not usually an omelette person but I gave the baked potato omelette a whirl and and was very happy with my decision. I tried the hubs hashbrowns and they were excellent. The perfect crispness you want in each bite! They're taking lots of safety precautions-no physical menus, plastic screens between tables etc. in case you're concerned about that. Just went in for the first time in awhile. There's something refreshing about going to a restaurant after not having been there in awhile and the staff is the same. Ordered a veggie omelette and a side of bacon with rye toast. Food was mediocre. Waitress dropped the food and was never to be seen again. I watched tables come and go and sat there like an outcast. I was finally able to flag down an employee to pay my bill. That never came. So I left a $50 on the table hoping it covered my omelette and left my leftovers there. Nice atmosphere though. read more

Bill was just over $10, which seemed a little high as the portion of tuna was smaller than I've normally experienced eating out. We went to The Good Table two days in a row for brunch. (7/5 & 7/6). The first day it was slow and we sat immediately. The server was friendly and helpful and very attentive. We loved it so much, we returned the next day. Second day was so busy we had to wait a bit. However, they sat us asap and got us coffee quick. We had a different server this time and you could tell she was feeling the rush but she was still friendly and attentive and listened to our orders. The food...amazing! The food here is excellent! I think they make the best french toast and home fries I've ever had! I recommend this place to anyone looking for good food, excellent service and a relaxed atmosphere! We came here from Boston on the day that Massachusetts removed its face mask mandate to see family we haven't seen in a year and half. We were a party of 13 and half were children. The waitress and the owner/manager were extremely accommodating and kind. They took a reservation even though they don't normally do that and sat us as close as possible together. They were very patient with all the little ones and accommodated us splitting the bill in 4 parts. Great customer service! Personally I don't recommend this establishment even though it's a town favorite, I would much rather cross the town line and visit a different breakfast joint in West Springfield. When I did visit this establishment back a few years ago I felt that Laurie was rude and belittling to her workers and would charge me $.50 for a side of syrup even though all the tables have help yourself bottles, when asked why it was because "I didn't order anything that should get maple syrup". It may seem petty to some by when spending $35/$50 per week and being nickel and dimed for syrup makes you make different choices in your selections and I'd rather support a local restaurant right over the town line.. read more

Now I'm giving a 5 stars instead of 4. Ever since I've come here often for breakfast from day one, most of the time I ordered a Veggie Supreme Omelettes with home Chunky Fries. This veggie omelettes come with the deletion spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, broccoli onions, and cheese. A good size of place to fill up my tummy. Coffee is still good. My wife and I are diner people, and we are happy we found The Good Table recently. Having moved to the area a few months ago, we are slowly getting to know (and eat our way) through all the local (and not so local) eateries. We only waited a minute or two before being seated in a booth. The waitress was prompt and friendly, listening to our explanation of our recent moving and such. The food came out fairly quickly, and it was served hot. One of my 'tests' for pancakes is the 'melting butter test'. If, after being served pancakes, you slather on butter, and it doesn't melt, they fail the test. These pancakes were very hot passed the test with flying colors. They were also excellent, in both taste and texture. The same could be said for my scrambled eggs. I like mine a bit soft, and that is how they came out - perfectly. The bacon was fine - nothing to write home about - thicker than too thin, but not really thick either. The home fries are very good as well. By the time our food came out, there was a standing room only line. Even so, the owner (and head cook) took time to come out from the kitchen to talk to us - to welcome us to the area and to talk about the history of the restaurant and her own journey. It was an super-friendly ending to an already excellent meal. She was also the first 'owner' who took time and made the effort to welcome us and talk to us a bit - something the other dozen or so other restaurants we've been to did not do (but could have). As for the atmosphere - we certainly beat the rush. It is a small-ish space and every table was filled up and the swarm of waitresses were constantly buzzing. Needless to say, we will absolutely be back, not just to eat our ways through the breakfast menu, but to try lunch as well. read more
