The food here is by far the best in the area from our opinion compared to the local pizzerias grinders and salads. Fantastic breakfast! Tried the Yankee Village Rest. for the first time this morning, and it exceeded our expectations. I had the country fried steak breakfast and it hit the spot, with lots of great flavor and texture. My wife had the eggs bene, and was very pleased with this dish. Our children had pancakes and also were quite satisfied. The service was stellar and the prices were fair. We look forward to returning again sometime soon!! read more

this is a place we typically eat at every Sunday because this is my Fiancé's and my favourite place but that being said we decided to go on a random Sunday just for fun and we ordered country fried steak and in quotations the sportsman. I asked for my fries to be a little bit more cooked and a little bit more seasoned as they served them too close to raw to us before in the past we asked them to just cook them up a little bit more and see them a little bit more mind you this restaurant is not a big restaurant so we can hear everything, but that being said our waitress took our order over spoke to the cook the cook goes I'm not over cooking and he has salt on his table. immediately my overheard and cancelled and we immediately walked out. Have been a loyal customer for almost a decade. Love the staff and regulars that we've come to know, but very upsetting to see that the quality of food has gone down, and the price of food has gone WAY up. Yes, prices of food has gone up, but I wish the owner would continue to see that is going to drive people to go elsewhere. Good food. Decent service. I walked away when the staff started playing tennis with bug zappers. Hitting flies all over the kitchen with those bug zapping fly swatters. Where are the dead bugs landing? I asked and the waitress said it's because they get deliveries. I paid my bill and walked away from my full plate. Fucking gross. read more

Food is great; Priced reasonably. Comes out done well. The sausage gravy and biscuits are heavenly and made with great love. Staff take the time to make sure your meal is great. Soda is great as it was fizzy; not just full of syrup. Staff work hard to serve the all the different combos of food offered. Cons: they are only open until 2pm each day. By far the best breakfast place in Westfield. Great county and family feeling, and food options for all ages. The staff is friendly and food is made fresh because they cook behind the bar, so you can see all the fresh ingredients. One of their most popular breakfast dishes is the biscuits and gravy with eggs. I get it almost every time. Great southern meal up here in the northeast. This is my favorite Sunday morning spot to hit with my husband and 2 year old son. The service is always quick and not just friendly- but sweet. The ladies who work here are the same every week and I am a fan of a restuarant that is able to maintain a consistent staff like that. Now- on to the food. My son eats the same exact thing every time he goes- a pancake and crispy bacon. They always bring his out as soon as it is ready which is a nice touch. It's nice to have a restaurant appreciate what it is like to sit at a table with a hungry toddler while he quickly and not so quietly destroys the sugar packets, the napkin holder and dumps the entire content of a salt shaker on my lap. My husband and I usually get eggs or omelettes. The eggs benedict isn't my favorite due to the lack of hollandaise in relation to the rest of the plate but it will do in a pinch. Love the farmers omelette and the french toast is right on point with the my other past fave breakfast joints. There is one thing that makes me send one star packing though- the coffee. It's terribly. Watery, stale and just NOT cutting it in the caffeine department for me. The last time they went they said the coffee machine was broken and that they had to percolate their own in the back and it was the only time I've ever enjoyed my coffee there. I'm thinking of sneaking in there on Saturday nights and smashing their coffee maker every week. The other great thing about this place is that you get the Westfield State University hangover kids in there talking about their previous nights shenanigans, one night stands and blackouts. And then on the other hand you have your regulars who belly up to the diner-style bar and sit for an hour with their newspaper and muffin. It's a really laid back, no frills type of breakfast spot. Love this place! They have great homemade muffins that are amazing if you let them grill it up for you! I've had a raspberry cream cheese muffin as well as the choco chip coconut!!! Amazing! Really good stuffed French toast! I'm addicted to their sausage gravy too, good on a biscuit, the best I've had,(my boyfriend agrees and he usually isn't impressed comparing it to versions he has had in the south) Lately I've been ordering the country fried steak and a good amount of the sausage gravy comes on top of that. It's all good, coffee is an 8 out of 10, I'm a coffee snob, I drink it black and tend to like it bold. I always seem to manage to throw back a few mugs of it when I come in. They never let my mug get below half empty! The staff here is so friendly and personable, Jen (I believe is her name) is usually the rockstar on the grill and I'm always impressed with her ability to swiftly and expertly multitask while fixing up the plates, I've had another girl here cooking here (haven't caught her name yet) she was good too! The meals I had from both cooks have been pretty consistent in taste quality and presentation and as someone who has worked in hospitality, I can appreciate things like that. :) Then there is Lucille who seems to always be here. She is very friendly, always running around taking orders, refilling coffee, bussing tables, ringing people up, and everything else that needs to be done around, but she always finds the time to say "hi" and and acknowledge the customers, especially the regulars that I see here so often. I've even had an amazing conversation with her one late morning when it was a little slow for a few minutes. It was nice getting to know her a little more. It makes a lot of sense that there are so many who seem to be here almost daily for breakfast! I believe that speaks for itself on the welcoming atmosphere, customer appreciation displayed, sweetness, quality and coziness of this establishment! I always have a good experience here. I highly recommend this spot. They have a lot of lunch options here too but I haven't gotten there yet, still eating my way through the breakfast menu! :9 I've been trying to force myself to try more of their dishes because everything is just so good. Went on Labor Day just myself and my boyfriend. Waitress got us coffee and didn't see her again for 15 minutes. Put in two tables of four that came in AFTER us, then took our order. Waited half an hour for food. Bacon was delicious, toast wasn't toasted, over easy turned into basically over hard, and the home fries were literally frozen in the middle. I went to Yankee village restaurant on Sunday may 3rd and it was one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in a long while. Yankee village is a breakfast and lunch restaurant at 68 Southwick road with accessible parking right up front. The waitress was very nice and we were seated right away. We got our drinks and menus and our order was taken soon after. I got a ham and cheese omelet and let me tell you it was great, light and fluffy, and stuffed with great quality meat and cheese, with toast and hash browns. My friends got pancakes, toast, eggs, corned beef hash, hash browns, bacon, and sausage. The bacon was perfectly crispy, but not burnt and, the toast was evenly toasted and buttery. They all agreed that the food was great, and the eggs came out perfectly how they were ordered (and quickly too). The cost was on the cheap side, about $37 dollars for us three. Overall the quality was great and the cost reasonable, the environment is kid friendly and very welcoming, a little crowded, but enjoyable nonetheless. The location is convenient for me, and the food is totally well priced, I guarantee I will be eating there again soon. read more

My husband and I went here for breakfast on a Sunday morning. My husband ordered the Country Fried Steak, and I had Eggs Benedict. We had to wait a long time for our food, even though the restaurant had emptied out by this point. When our meals came, my eggs were cold and hard as a rock, and the English muffins were not toasted at all. I sent it back for them to remake. Meanwhile, my husband got to eat his breakfast without me. He had two eggs with his steak - one was overcooked, the other was really under cooked, but at this point we didn't try to send it back. When my meal came out again, my English muffin was toasted, but barely, and the eggs were again overcooked. I again pointed it out to the waitress . We never got to speak to a manager, and the bill was close to $30. We will never eat there again. We had noticed on our way in a sign advertising for a cook - after eating there, I understand why. read more
