My coworker and I came here for an industry happy hour event after attending a conference at the hotel next door. The first thing that stood out to me was the really cool location right next to the waterway. I think getting a drink and/or food with a friend or a date would be really neat at The Goose's Acre. Although I can't speak on the prices there as I was at a happy hour event, the service was great even with the large amount of people in attendance and the food provided was really good especially the beef sliders. I would love to come back here some time for an industry event or just for a personal visit. read more

Beautiful view, fun ambience whether you choose the chill balcony patio or the traditional Irish pub inside it's got a place for you! (I peeped the fireplace that looks like it'd be amazing in the winter!) Service was great and the food was outstanding!! They had shepherds pie empanadas and I love a good food mashup so had to try it - they were so good we ordered another plate for the table to share!! SO GOOD! I have been to this place many times since you first opened. I will not come back. I arrived with friends Friday night after the show at the pavilion. No purse policy so no had drivers license. The door attendant demanded my ID. I an 73 years old with earned white hair and wrinkles. I have not been asked for an ID in over 40 years. He told me it was a Texas law. When? --no other establishment uses this. He denied my entrance. I pushed past him and said he could call the police. I was humiliated! The bartender served me, no police came. I ordered your Shepherds Pie. Have enjoyed it in past. It was terrible. Hunks of meat, no peas, vegetables of any kind per traditional recipe. Dry mashed potatoes on top. Stopped into The Goose's Acre before attending a concert down the walk to have a drink and a bit to eat. Was always curious about this place and I do love a good old fashioned Irish Pub. Not surprising, but they were busy when we walked in, but found a nice table in the bar and checked out the menu. They had an interesting selection of beer to choose from. Some craft beer and quite a few English/Irish pub style beers. This made me very happy. We ordered couple of Breckenridge Vanilla Porters and settled on a Classic Margherita Gourmet Pizza for dinner. Goose's Acre did have an Irish Pub atmosphere going with the high-backed booths, tall round tables and seating at the beautiful wooden bar. The service was very good, the choice of items on the menu was fabulous and we really enjoyed our pizza. Absolutely delicious. We returned several weeks later after an event to stop in for a late dinner and drink. The Comeback burger was great but the Parmesan fries could have used some more Parmesan, and the Birria Grill Cheese was absolutely delicious. Another great visit until about 10 pm when this nice little Irish Pub turned into a club with far too loud booming music and the clientele changed to a more questionable type that you would not see in an Irish Pub. This has changed our minds about Goose's Acre. It is great during the day but once you hit 9 or 10 pm the atmosphere becomes really, really questionable. read more

To be honest, I was not expecting much except an overpriced waterway restaurant. Man was I surprised. On Wednesdays they have half priced burgers and happy hour drinks specials. My burger was absolutely amazing. And they had some of the best garlic Parmesan fries I've ever had. The weather was nice. The patio was fun with live music overlooking the waterway. First time coming here even though I have passed it many times going to Bar Louie or Rose. It's a pub with typical pub like decor. We sat at the bar our waiter was great very attentive. I ordered a cosmo then a Jameson and ginger ale both were great. My husband ordered a beer, there was a variety to choose from. For food we ordered buffalo wings and the Irish nachos were yummy too! Had a reservation in the snug on a chilly winter night. The front door opening and the cold wind blowing in caused the thermostat to read that It was really cold in the restaurant which made the heat blast in the back where we were. My guests and I were on fire and it was extremely uncomfortable and unenjoyable. The server claimed there was nothing she could do until we finally asked for a manager. Luckily, the manager was responsive and did make adjustments to the thermostat which made the experience less miserable. The food was average at best. The Irish nachos were pretty good but a very basic food. The buffalo cauliflower was also pretty good but oily and vinegary. When I called to make the reservation, the staff who answered the phone were extremely helpful and detailed which was probably the best part of the experience. read more

I haven't reviewed The Goose's Acre?!?! The shame, the shame! No, not every visit was stellar, but I'm sticking with 4 stars because I have trouble remembering what was imperfect. I think it was service on one or two visits that wasn't up to their usual standard. But normally this place is solid - nice staff, good to great food, solid drink selection, cool patio overlooking the "Waterway" / river walk. Bar inside looks awesome, although we've never sat at it. The more I try to remember what was lacking on some visits, it was indeed service - took too long to get drinks and/or service just wasn't on the ball enough. But that's the exception, not the rule. Normally service here it pretty solid. Burgers and apps are my usual go-to's. A favorite in this area for sure. Will keep going here. read more

Popped in with my son for a late lunch. He has the chicken fried chicken with green beans. I had the half price Shepherds Pie. (I'm always looking for a great special) it certainly did not disappoint. Jack, my pickiest eater, was not disappointed either. We enjoyed our meal in a cozy booth near the faux fireplace and looking out the windows to the nice patio and well taken care of plants. Our server was a delight. I wish I could remember her name. The Hilton wants $99.95, Jimmy Buffet will seat you for 69.95, my Irish friends will fill you with delicious grub for 39.95 and kids eat free! The food is of similar quality, so this is more of a gift to the community, maybe a sacred act. My wallet thanks you. This looks like a small cafe from the street, but it is actually huge, it rambles back and downstairs, with two bars. The kitchen is on the lower (waterfront) level. I've been searching for a dog friendly brunch spot & I'm pretty sure I've found it in The Goose's Acre. It's located right on the Woodlands Water Way so we had a pretty view while dining on their spacious patio. They quickly found us a place to sit where my dog could have his own shaded space and brought us a bowl of water for him. Food wise, I chose the Corned Beef Benedict and added fried hash potatoes. They were a little stingy on the hollandaise but did not have any issue bringing me an extra extra side of hollandaise once I asked. With the extra hollandaise, this meal was top notch! My friend chose the Sweet Hot Fried Chicken & Waffles with a side of fruit. She said the the chicken and waffles were delicious. I was also excited to see that they have a bottomless mimosa option for only $16! Sign me up! I will definitely be returning for another Sunday Brunchday in the future! read more

And the service is top tier, super friendly and attentive of a waiter (we had Dylan!). I totally forgot to let my phone eat first; however, if I can sway anyone of you, I say try their GIANT SOFT PRETZEL. It is GIANT so most-definitely sharable (though I won't judge because I could theoretically eat it all myself hehe). Great service, super clean and well appointed. The bar woodwork is amazing! My first visit here was amazing!... I've recently returned twice in the past few weeks and it wasn't so great :( Service was great! Views were great! Food was NOT GOOD AT ALL. 2 weeks ago I ordered the birria grilled cheese and was not impressed. The sandwich had a weird taste. It's hard to describe but it's like the meat was cooked in sour water...fast forward to this weekend when I ordered the artichoke dip pizza. Now, I love artichoke so I know what it's supposed to taste like. The smell coming from the pizza was PUNGENT! The taste was awful and the same sour taste was present. No matter how much ranch and hot sauce I dipped the pizza in, the taste was just unbearable. This last visit really did it for me. While there, we ordered the following: - Yuengling Beers: You really can't go wrong with yuengling draft - White Sangria: Tasted more like a light (and watery) peach cocktail. OK but didn't order another - Frozen Margarita: Definitely the drink to order. Tasted great! - Fried Pickles: Just OK and was paired with a very thick and chunky ranch. I wouldn't order these again - Irish Nachos: Good and made just right! Would order these again! - The Original Burger: Good but definitely needed the BBQ sauce for dipping it in otherwise it would've been very dry Our server was friendly and quickly brought out things after they were ordered. I REALLY like the Goose's acre! It meats and exceeds every enjoyable "Saturday date night" requirement that you expect! The service is great, the atmosphere is great, the food is great and the location is perfect! For a fun night out to get something to eat and have some drinks this is a perfect go-to spot located in downtown Woodlands right by the water! Came here on a Saturday evening about 6:30 and there was still enough availability for us to grab a booth! We were greeted and seated within 3 minutes downstairs with a wonderful view of the water way! Upon being seated, we were greeted by our staff Chance, who provided a wonderful service for the entire evening! We started off with drinks, ordering a margarita and a michelada. Both drinks were made very well with enough alcohol in the margarita which was perfectly blended. The michelada was made with Modelo and not too spicy or overdone and the rim was covered with Tajin, which complemented it perfectly! We started our meal by ordering the complete sampler appetizer plate which was really good! It came with onion rings, wings, flatbread and artichoke dip and also hummus. Everything on the platter was delicious which gave us an example of everything they serve there. Nothing was too greasy or spicy and the onion rings were battered perfectly and crispy. Next we ordered the Enzo Pizza which is essentially an all meat pizza. I love their pizzas here because they are brick oven baked and everything always comes out perfect! The crust is a perfect crispiness and thinness. The sauce, the cheese and the meats are all spot on perfect and really taste like a gourmet pizza! Perfect flavor, not too salty and the dough is just perfect. The service here is fantastic and they have wonderful employees no matter whether you're being greeted, seated or served. Our server was Chance who was a wonderful guy that was perfectly attentive and answered all of our questions and maintained our drinks. Everyone has a wonderful attitude and great to interact with. There is plenty of room here and they keep the tables clean and ready for new guests. They have a great bar with great drinks. The atmosphere is enjoyable whether it's just adults going out for drinks and food or if you want to bring the family it's a great place as well! Overall, the Goose's Acre is one of my favorite spots in The Woodlands! Everything they do is great, with excellent prices for food and drinks! Much like the authentic Irish Pubs I've visited on the The Emerald Isle, The Goose's Acre has some outstanding food and excellent service. Tip: The portion sizes here are quite generous - you won't go away hungry ;-) The venue is situated on the Woodlands Waterway, and the place looked quite lovely on the completely clear day of our visit. We opted to dine on their outdoor patio and very much enjoyed the ambiance. The cocktail menu was well appointed, but I was in the mood for a draft so I made a mental note for our next visit. We each ordered a sandwich - I chose the Late B Sandwich; it's made with whole wheat toast, peppered bacon, a fried egg, red leaf lettuce, sliced tomato, and herb aioli; it was excellent and came with some perfectly salted garlic Parmesan fries that were delicious as well. Over and above my delightful sandwich I very much enjoyed the Irish Nachos - these are everything you would have on a regular nachos but on a REALLY THICK cut of potato instead. I'm talking 1/2" plus in thickness. The taste is very different, very satisfying and highly addictive :-) To sum it all up, the service was efficient and attentive, the ambiance was laid-back and relaxing, and the food was satisfying and very reasonably priced. Service was very slow but I tired to be understanding because our waitress was clearly training two girls at the time, with that being said I think drinks came out very slow. We held a retirement party at the restaurant. The manager Brandi, Alli, Chance, and staff made sure we had all we needed throughout the evening. The food items were delicious with the staff making sure that nothing ran out. They walked around our group offering beverages often. They helped us clean up after the party as well.
