I never understood why Pimlico's had a crowd on weekdays or why my friend talked about a bar's steak so much... until I went. Steak night starts at 7, which means that's when they start taking orders. If you want to beat the rush, you should already be in your seat by 6:30-6:45. It's a two-man show on steak night. The husband is outside grilling everything on what looks like a standard home grill while the wife is taking orders. Orders go out in batches. They're definitely efficient and work as fast as they can, but with that comes a little abruptness- they aren't the friendliest, but they're focused on getting everyone fed. We got there at 7:05 and didn't get our food until 8:25. Was the wait worth it? Absolutely. The steak was tender and juicy. The lamb chop was charred perfectly. And surprisingly enough, the sausage was my favorite. It was JUICY. When you bite into it, the juices literally burst out. Something had a little kick to it... it wasn't the sauce, but I actually liked it. The jalapeño cheddar mashed potatoes were also great. read more

I go here for the Meat Mojo steak nights! Available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The food takes a while to come out, but everything is being made to order, and it's definitely worth the wait. I get the full rack of lamb which comes with their ninja sauce and pineapples. For my side, I get the mashed potatoes. The lamb chops are the absolute best I've ever had! So tender, juicy, and smoky. All their sauces are so good too and compliments the meat perfectly! If you can't handle spice, I'd recommend just sticking to their ninja sauce though. I went on the Tuesday with Mojo's steaks! I ordered the Steak Big Boy combo. One of the best steaks I've had for the price. It was delicious! Cash only though! Otherwise the venue is really nice! A typical Irish pub. They have the general beer brands. There is the bar inside that is centered between multiple tables. Seating is around 20-30 people. I am giving a low-average rating to Pimlico and my whole rating is based on one less-than-great factor. I live in Louisiana and come to Houston for medical treatment. My absolute favorite Irish draft beer is Smithwicks and Pimlico has Smithwicks along with 12 other draft beers and Smithwicks sibling beers Harp and Guinness. If you don't know Smithwicks it is a dark Irish ale about 2/3 of the way from Harp to Guinness. All three beers are owned by the same company (Guinness Brewing). Anywhere I travel, I am looking for Smithwicks on tap. Pimlico has it on tap. However, Pimlico does not take care of their taps and beer lines. Any good bar should regularly wash out their beer lines with proper chemicals to clean out any build up of sourness or other substances that change and ruin the taste of the beer. I had two glasses of nicely poured Smithwicks within the past couple of days, and the beer tasted terrible. It was not the taste of Smithwicks and it was not good. It is clear that there was one of two possible problems. 1.) The keg had been tapped and had sat for weeks or months on tap and just wasn't being ordered and served. No wonder !!! or 2.) The beer lines had not been properly cleaned. There are several companies that sell beer line cleaner and it is a standard process of cleaning the lines. My bet is that the owner or bartenders just have not cleaned the beer lines in a very long time. Cleaning should be a regular process. In addition, the metal taps should be disassembled and thoroughly flushed with the same solution and the inner bore wire-brushed thoroughly with the same solution. I have my own keg cooler and my Smithwicks tastes great .... but I regularly wash the lines. My guess is that the Smithwicks tap was not their only beer forgotten and all the other lines were equally dirty but I ordered nothing else. Its a shame.... periodic cleaning is not optional, It is mandatory. I won't be back. GARY read more

I've only been here for the Monday night Trivia. There are eight rounds of questions of eight questions each including both visual and audio questions. Pretty difficult questions. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and they also had someone selling burgers outside on a Monday night. $8 gets you a burger and a bag of chips. I didn't try the burger so I can't tell you how good it is and whether or not it's cash only. They don't serve food. I came hungry not knowing this and left hungry. So come here for drinks and come here for the trivia. read more

I was going to give 3 stars because it's not really a memorable bar and it's confusing where it begins and where it ends but they do have free parking which I always appreciate and you're close to the bayou trails so if you're going for a walk and want to stop by for a drink when the weather is nice, it's not bad. I also love their ginger beer thing (Russian something) with the copper cup. I think it would help them to kind of define where one can walk with the alcohol and where one can't because it's confusing and the owner seems a bit jumpy and freaks out if he sees someone going a few feet away from the door. I'm not sure what the TABC rules are, but apparently his sidewalk is ok as he has chairs, but the other side of the sidewalk is not ok because there are no chairs, but it still is in front of the bar. Maybe put a velvet rope to define the space. Has to be velvet. read more

I have visited this bar on 2 occasions recently to participate in their Tuesday Trivia Night. Both times I had a good time. I haven't been able to eat any of their food here due to the kitchen being closed for remodeling I believe. It has indoor and outdoor seating. The small parking lot in front is limited so street parking is very likely if you come here. I like the interior decor and bar and table service for drinks have been A-OK. Your efforts, when actually put forth, goes such a long way. A glance and a genuine, "I'll be right with you" is important to most people. Not, I'M BUSY RIGHT NOW, GIMME A SEC, and then you go chit chat it up with your friends - ((CUST SVC FAIL)) - I digress... I love this bar for sooooo many reasons - Location is awesome, the jukebox, the super selection of wines and beers, the nights there's food rocks So Hard, the patio is uber sexy, it's clean and well run....omg, my fave place to refer people to when they're just in town for work and yes! I have met really interesting and brilliant people here over the last couple years. Although I don't frequent often, I'd like to continue to patronize for a very long time.
