Short Rib French Dip

Super cute pub near the Bryn Mawr movie theater. We stopped here because we still had some to kill before our movie and was pleasantly surprised by the food. The interior was like a typical pub, seemed like a few regulars were there drinking at the bar. Our server was super friendly. Would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area and looking for an Irish pub!

Needed a snack on our day of adventure in the Bryn Mawr area and found this cute little place. I'm not going to lie, I expected basic pub fair. This place is totally elevated! The burger was so good and the waitress was super nice to let me know, since I got the gluten free bun, the fries were battered so I got the salad instead. I got the Grog burger and holy moly. I haven't had a burger that good in a while. The only down side was they didn't have plain tea. However, I'll let it slide. Seriously, though go eat here!

Different Cheesesteak #979 in the last 4 years. Guest Eaters Amigo Dan. This is a good bar/restaurant cheesesteak. It came on a semi-seeded roll. I think this cheesesteak deserves a better roll. The meat was good. I really liked that the mushrooms spent a lot of time on the grill with the meat. The cheese, good'ish. There was a good amount but It looks like the cheese was put in the roll. I would have liked it mixed with the meat and mushrooms better. Nice crowd. The bartender was great. I think she was doing everything.

We wanted Sushi but it was closed. This place was right next door so we decided to give it a try. Parking: Metered Service: Kate was our server. She was nice and accommodating. We liked that they used plastic table settings. The fancy ones! Food: I ordered the turkey burger, fries included. The turkey burger was very tasty. The best public turkey burger I ever tasted! It was very flavorful and it's hard to flavor up turkey. The fries were delicious. My friend ordered the shrimp tacos. He said it was good but too much lettuce. The next time he'll tell them what to put on it. Drinks: We ordered cognac with pineapple. It was watered down. We could taste the cognac lightly. We ordered another round this time without ice because we thought maybe that was the reason for the drink taste. The second round, without ice was watered down. Maybe we are just lushes!! Lol. At least the food was delicious! Overall we enjoyed our lunch and will be back.

Steak Frites. 4 tiny pieces of steaks, it's ridiculous

I really wanted to like this place because I've passed by it so many times, looks like it has a good and laid-back ambiance. We came here for brunch on a Sunday, we were greeted immediately by the waitress. Later on, I realized this is the only server they had on a weekend. We ordered the hemp infused wings, steak frites and steak tacos. Oh man, all I can say is that both me and my friend were disappointed on the food - simply tasteless. The steak frites is 95% of fries and 5% of steak. The portion is ridiculously small. On the other hand, the drinks were good, we had Long Island iced tea, jalapeño margarita and a shot. Very happy with the drinks. I will probably come back for drinks, definitely not the food.

I must have driven past this venue 100's of times and never really took notice. It wasn't until I…read morewas out with the family that someone suggested going to The Pub. I learned later that this restaurant has been around since the early to mid 1900's. Plenty of parking in a large open lot. The place is very large and has one of the longest bars I've seen. The wood is very dark and you can see the chefs cooking over the hearth. They don't take reservations and won't see you until your entire party is there. One of the things I liked for our party of 10 was they had no problems with seating as they also have many large round tables. For mixed drinks, they make them pretty big and potent. For my martini, they sent back an extra glass. They also had great bleu cheese stuffed olives. We ordered onion rings (8 large to an order) and fried zucchini. The onion ring I had was pretty good. I didn't have the fried zucchini but heard it was also pretty good. Other than the light fare items, all dinners come with their salad bar which has both iceberg lettuce and Caesar Salad along with many fixings as well as cheeses and bread. I had the Baked Seafood Platter which came with scallops, shrimp, Clam Casino (without the shell), Maryland crab cake and a small lobster tail for $49.99. My wife had the baked chicken breast which she said was quite dry. The dining area is quite large and reminds me of the restaurants at a casino. Some in our group said it reminds them of Medieval Times due to the dark wood vibe. While I thought it was a bit pricey, I would still come back and try their signature steaks or prime rib.

Such a fun old-school steak house. The decor is swanky. They have big hearths where they grill the…read moremeats. The salad bar is classic: Caesar salad, iceberg, blue cheese, bacon bits, etc. Meet family here for a fancy night out, and it was a blast. Service was good. Portions are generous, so be prepared for leftovers. We had steak and eggs for breakfast the next day. Big steaks, big baked potatoes, unlimited salad. Come hungry. Good to know: It is a splurge. Also, they won't stay you until the entire party is there. We waited at the bar for everyone to arrive, where one cocktail was more than enough for me. You definitely get your money's worth, and you should not drive afterward. (I did not.)

I didn't even realize there was a PJ Whelihan's in Wynnewood until attending an 80th birthday party…read morehere today. The location is a bit awkward because there isn't convenient handicap parking directly in front of the entrance, which could make things a little challenging for some guests. I recommend dropping people off who have mobility issues first then park. Our party was held in the private area in the back, but it's not truly private since there isn't a door, it's more of an open corner section of the restaurant. Because of that, it was pretty loud with the jumbo TVs going and regular diners nearby. I've been to the PJ Whelihan's in Blue Bell, and their private room had doors and felt more separated from the rest of the restaurant, which helped with noise. That said, the Wynnewood location has a huge bar and tons of big-screen TVs, so it definitely has that fun sports bar vibe. The food for the party was good overall, although it wasn't served very hot. The buffet included Caesar salad, rolls, sweet potato fries, potatoes, broccoli, crab cakes, salmon, and chicken parmesan. The salmon was a bit overcooked and slightly dry, likely from sitting out for a while, but the rest of the items were ok. Soft drinks were included, while alcoholic beverages were purchased separately at the bar. I also want to give a shoutout to Lina Morgan and the manager Shannon, who were all very helpful and attentive to our group throughout the event. One thing to note if you're planning a party here: they don't allow take home containers for leftover buffet food due to food safety concerns since the food sits out and temperatures fluctuate. Overall, it's a lively spot and did I say with plenty of TVs lol and a good setup for group gatherings. If you're planning a party and don't mind some background noise, it's a solid option.

It was overwhelmingly noisy inside so we left (obviously before ordering) and walked over to Whelihan's. Neither of us had ever been. At 1:30 the pub / restaurant was quiet. Low lights, comfortable booth seating - it was just what the doctor ordered (so to speak!) My friend sounded like Elaine on Seinfeld, ordering a big salad. It was very nice. I went with a Reuben which was good, albeit somewhat greasy. Sandwiches are plated with chips. I like this place enough to return. If they grill their burgers and can make mine rare, they can count me as a new customer!
