The young woman at the counter greeted me immediately and was very friendly and helpful in explaining the restaurant and menu options. I chose the buffet. I've enjoyed fusion cuisine before and was excited by the concept. While the menu appears to offer some fusion-inspired dishes, the buffet felt more like two separate cuisines sharing the same space--Indian food and Mexican food--rather than true fusion dishes. That said, the food was generally quite good. The Indian selections were the highlight. The lamb vindaloo had a great spice level, a smooth, flavorful gravy, and large, tender boneless pieces of lamb. The chicken tikka was creamy with generous chunks of moist chicken breast. My favorite item may have been the paneer matar, with soft paneer and peas in a rich, creamy tomato sauce. I arrived near the end of the buffet service (11:30 AM-2:30 PM), so some items may have been past their peak. The huevos rancheros were quite dry and chewy. The tacos and burrito wraps were enjoyable but somewhat bland and slightly dry. The chips and accompanying sauces were very good. The beans appeared to have dried out considerably by the time I arrived (this is the only item I didn't eat.) The naan was likely excellent when fresh from the tandoor, but by the time I tried it, it had lost much of its appeal. The salad bar was adequate, though I think adding a Mexican-inspired dressing option such as cilantro ranch or a citrus vinaigrette would be a nice touch. The dahi rice (yogurt rice) was a little dry and much less sweet than I expected, making it feel more like a side dish than a dessert. I would genuinely love to see this little restaurant succeed. When I arrived, the place was completely empty and very quiet, but during my meal 12 additional customers came in, which was encouraging to see. The staff was welcoming, the Indian food was excellent, and with a few adjustments to buffet freshness and seasoning, I think this restaurant has a lot of potential.
