A bustling smallish Greek restaurant with all the usual food you'd expect. We left with satiated bellies but not personally enamored eyes. If they have tables, you can seat yourself. Like a lot of these spots, the tables are very close to each other so don't expect privacy especially if you're just two people. They have a decent menu with pita sandwiches, salads, appetizers, souvlaki platters, seafood and a kids menu, as well as specials. We enjoyed the falafel pita ($12.75, not dry and soft pita, hummus sauce but no tzaziki) and the shrimp platter ($25, on a bed of pita bread, fries [similar to diner fries] and a small side of pilaf rice for $4.5). It would have been nice if both entrees came with a side salad (or something) to complete the meal. I had my eye on the moussaka but there was no vegetarian version and they didn't have a spanakopita platter either. Also no complimentary pita, tapenade or chips, unlike some other Greek places. Since they seem to be pretty busy, service is fine and tries to keep it moving. Some people entered and had to wait for a table but staff didn't seem to rush anyone who was languishing a bit out. There was a steady stream of customers and takeout orders which likely speaks to a consistent experience. Their to-go bags were actually blue reusable bags, which I thought was a nice touch. Bring cash because credit card orders tack on almost 4% to the bill. The location isn't the best atmosphere wise (shopping plaza near Shop Rite and next to a Jersey Mike's) - small but not intimate - but on the plus side, parking is easy. If you miss the turn and go into Shop Rite, you can still get to the restaurant without going back on the main street. read more

I have been coming here for years with my husband and his family back when they had the small little restaurant on the other side of the road and for casual Greek food there is no better in the area which is consistently proved by the abundance of takeout orders at the front every weekend. The service is always on great and everyone is so welcoming. We went again last night with the whole family and got a spread of apps, zucchini chips, eggplant chips, zucchini balls and of course the pita on the side. Everything was delicious per usual and the garlic dip that came with all of our apps was delicious. For entree my husband and I love for their Greek salad with chicken (but we've had many other dishes in the past) so we got that last night. The chicken is always delicious and never dry, the tomato's in the salad are top notch, the feta cheese provided was very generous and the tzatziki is some of my favorite and goes so amazing with the chicken! I love this salad, but will admit it used to be much larger than it currently is. The flavors though have stayed the same. Ordered a greek salad with protein this evening and the salad was small, basic, underwhelming, hastily prepared and generally very very poor. The pita bread served had a half-eaten piece in the basket. Absolutely disgraceful to serve food this way. I've been meaning to post a review for this restaurant for awhile now. We come here every few weeks and are never disappointed. My go to order is shrimp in orzo with feta cheese. My wife will more often than not order a Greek salad with grilled chicken . Both of these dishes are great. Great and consistent food! I've been coming here since they were in their teeny tiny old location further down Livingston Street. Prices have definitely increased since their move, but portions sizes are still large and food quality is still good! They're still takeout only, but ordering was quick and pickup was fast and efficient. They do tell you your order number on the phone, so keep that number in mind to make picking up your food even faster. Staff are all masked. You pay at the front register, and they have takeout orders neatly lined up on a large table in the middle. You let them know what number order you had, confirm the food contents are correct, and then you get to go home and enjoy your food :) I got the gyro platter with fries. It also comes with a side of pita, a grilled zucchini slice, and a grilled slice of onion. This is always enough for 2-3 meals for me or shared with a friend. If you like their tzatziki sauce, order extra for the platter! I forgot to this time :( If you have leftovers, I recommend reheating your fries in a toaster oven to crisp up. I have no problems with reheating the gyro briefly in a microwave. My partner got the lamb pita. He said the lamb was delicious and grilled well. They cook it to a medium rare (this is recommended for lamb because it can dry out easily), so if pink meat makes you uncomfy, try their gyro! The pita wrap should be enough for just one meal. I've had no problems with their service in the past. There was a time where the receipt was put on the wrong takeout bag, so although the receipt said my correct order, the contents were very wrong. I came back to let them know what happened, they offered to make me my whole order fresh at no charge, and they gave me an extra free dessert as part of the trouble. I don't find their service rude. Rather, they're just very curt and to the point for efficiency. The Greek Village is definitely one of my favorite places for local food! I'm happy to see they're still doing well. read more

Have not had Greek in sooooo long and this was just what I wanted. The skordalia at first seemed light on the garlic but after letting it sit one day - oh boy it was just the way I like it. It is a garlic and potato dip for those who do not know. The saganaki app was good for takeout. It is always better made right in front of you but like I said for takeout it was done well. My entree was a gyro wrap. It reminded me of the church festival gyro. In other words, LOVE IT. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and I ordered a horatiki salad as well. That one was just ok but in their defense I ate it a couple days later. Our order was for about 6 people so we were inundated with pitas. And that is OK. I still have some left! Amy is the best waiter! The food is fresh and always made to order. We started off with the zucchini fries. This was a plate full; was not expecting that much food. The fries were crispy thin and delicious. I could eat a whole plate of that and nothing else. Since there were so much fries, we shared a plate of gyro, chicken and shrimp with rice and grilled onions and zucchini. This was simply amazing. However recently one evening one of the newer members of the staff dispalyed conduct Unbecoming of a Resturantur. This man who appears to be in his 30,s with a moustache was extremely Rude, Disrespectful, Bullyish and Argumentative to me as a Customer. He broke the cardinal rule of Not Treating the Customer as King or Queen. No Customer should have to deal with an out of control bullying disrespectful employee.
