A cute little BYOB Greek restaurant with a welcoming dining area and very solid food.  We stopped by on a Friday night and they were able to accommodate the four of us even though we did not have a reservation. The service was very prompt and friendly, which is appreciated when dining with a 4 year old. We started off the meal with a large Greek salad (very good) and a trio of dips/spreads ( hummus, tzatziki and eggplant).  I ordered the traditional Gyro with Greek Fries. The pita was loaded with flavorful ingredients. The other meals were the chicken Souvlaki pita, and the chicken souvlaki platter. Everyone was very pleased with their meals and the portion size. The overall price was very reasonable for the meals. We have also ordered takeout from Cedar Tree in the past and it was well packaged and still tasty. read more

Delicious and generously sized Greek food at a great price! Plenty of parking available, and Cedar Tree definitely packs an authentic punch in terms of variety and flavor. Beef gyro was tender, packed and yummy! Chicken skewer platter was well seasoned, and the Greek salad had a great crunch. Tzizitaki was creamy and well balanced. Everything was fresh and warm. I haven't written a review in a while, but after last night's experience, I had to say something. We found out about this restaurant through our neighborhood coupon magazine, so we were happy to try it based on the online reviews. The food and service were all good, not complaining about that. We both enjoyed our meal. Ambiance was okay, nothing fancy. Our issue was with their food & drink pricing on their menu not matching our bill at the end of our meal. My husband happened to remember the price of his dish and noticed it was priced higher on our bill so he grabbed a menu off of an empty table to verify. Sure enough, at least 3-4 items (even our ice teas!) were charged a bit higher on our bill than what were listed on their menu. We called them out on it and the first waiter (in a hoody) claimed they were "waiting on a new menu" (which was never mentioned when we ordered) and then left our table. We then called over a second waiter a few minutes later, he never mentioned about waiting on a new menu but asked us how much we felt would make up the difference to take off the bill. We accepted $6 to be taken off our bill, which seemed fair. We know it's only a few dollars, but it was more the principle of the whole experience that didn't sit right with us, especially if this happens to others. When you go into a restaurant and order off a set price menu and you get a whole different set of prices for your items, that's not fair business practices to your patrons. Hopefully their new future menu will reflect the new price increases and this won't be an issue, but in the meantime... go there and still enjoy their food, but check your bill carefully! read more

Honestly, one of the last true family reastraunts in northern jersey. The staff are always lovely and kind and attentative. They always accomodate my family's love for the window seating and are willing to squeeze us when we dont have a reservation. It is consistently clean and bright. As someone with Celiac Disease, I have never been a victim of cross contamination here and the wraps are utterly delicious. I truly have no idea hoe they manage to make a gluten free wrap taste so good and somehow not fall apart. The staff are always so lovely about tolterating all of my restrictions, and me changing things on the menu. The vegan options are extensive and you can add tofu to anything to add more protein. The owners/ managers are so beyond sweet, once they overheard it was my grandpas birthday and brought a complimentary gorgeous desert with "happy birthday" written in choclate on it. On another ocasion they gave my family and I free pizza from their neighboring reastraunt. Easily my favorite, consistent, local reastraunt that I can count on to have a nice dinner! Though my last Cedar Tree experience had been less than stellar, I decided to give it another chance and dine-in this time. The dining area could probably have fit another table or two, as there was a good deal of wasted space, which we noticed only after being told that our party of 2 could not sit at an available 4-top; we needed to wait for a smaller table. Thankfully, one of the couples vacated their seats within 5 minutes, so we did not need to wait long to get settled and order. While our food was being prepared, we received a small serving of complimentary hummus with pita points and cucumber slices. I ordered a Small Greek Salad with Grilled Chicken and was very impressed! The more modest size was perfect for one person and still contained a massive amount of grilled chicken, which had been well-marinaded. In addition to the food, the server was very nice. A lovely local Mediterranean hidden gem! Our company orders from here very frequently as of late because of the following values: 1. Delicious food 2. Reasonable price 3. Free & Quick Delivery and 4. Good quantity I tried their beef gyro which was packed with large slabs of gyro meat that was well-seasoned and loaded with their delectable, perfectly fried French fries. My wife loved her grilled shrimp souvlaki, and a colleague enjoyed the grilled chicken wrap which was actually pressed and had good quantity. I've also tried their Sparta pita which comes with a kick of chipotle sauce and their fries are seriously great. Full disclosure: this was DoorDash delivery, but a delivery for three people arrived fast and hot. I got the chicken souvlaki and so did my coworker, but we ordered different sides. He had rice and I had potatoes and pickled vegetables. It also came with a split pea soup. We both enjoyed our dishes! We also got falafel, which was a hit. I had the supreme salad as well, which was fantastic! A fresh salad with crispy lettuce hearts, red onion, corn, peppers, feta, avocado, potatoes, and greek dressing. It was super fresh! This place has a huge menu, which usually makes me leery, but our experience was good enough that I won't hold it against them! It was easy to order for takeout through the app. A wide variety of dishes, appetizers, platters, sandwiches, sides, and desserts; it was had to choose. Many of them I had never seen before, like lemon/mint hummus, shrimp in a tomato/pepper sauce, cooked giant beans. Many of the dishes weren't Greek, but Middle Eastern (e.g., hummus, baba ghanoosh.) It turns out the owners are actually Lebanese. They were very patient when I kept wanting to change my order, especially given that it was 730 on a Friday evening, a busy time. The food was ready when promised and it was delicious: we had souvlaki platters, a selection of dips, the shrimp, roasted vegetables, and for dessert, Dubai chocolate cake. I was in the area running errands and had a taste for a Gyro. So found this on yelp. It's located in a strip mall and it's next to a pizza shop and a gym. It was 2:30 PM on a Saturday and there were no customers inside. Maybe because the weather was nice people were doing takeout orders but I thought it was odd that there were no customers. It is very dimly lit. I don't know if they are doing that for a certain kind of ambience but it wasn't very appealing. I got a Gyro wrap and a sour cherry soda. The wrap was just OK. The meat could've been a bit more flavorful and I didn't taste that sauce much. It wasnt awful but I can't say I'll be rushing to go back there again nor would I recommend it others who may be looking for a Gyro in this area. read more

Placed an order ahead of a salad with no onions - when I got there to pick up 10 minutes later, although I was told it would be ready in 5 it wasn't ready. I also asked for no onions and doubled checked before leaving and it had onions- they said no problem they would fix it. Apparently, they just took the salad inside and fished out the onions but missed 3 pieces so of course I was not able to eat it. Did a weekend takeout order and it was made pretty quickly. I actually had not left my house yet when I got the text notification! The toddler was all about the gyro platter (sorry mommy he grabbed that from you) and also loved the fish tank inside. So I suppose we have to eat here again just for the fish tank. The food was very good. Aside from the aforementioned gyro platter, we also grabbed a few apps - eggplant dip, sautéed eggplant, greek pizza, and chicken quesadillas for the kiddo. BTW, Greek pizza is a pita topped with sauce, feta cheese, and sweet peppers. It was fun to try. The rest of the apps were very tasty. Cedar Tree has earned a place in our takeout shortlist. No joke, it's the best moussaka I've ever tasted -- savory, juicy ground beef, the bechamel not too heavy, and not overly spiced, either. This has become our go to Greek / Mediterranean restaurant in the area. The food is consistently very good, prices are reasonable and the service is good. Half the time we takeout the other half we eat in. Recently we've taken a few different friends here and they have all said they would be back. It's on the small side so if you come with a group larger than 6 you might have to wait unless you get lucky. Plenty of food options and they own the pizzeria next door so if you don't see something on the menu for the kids you can always order something from the pizzeria menu. We regularly get the gyro platter or wrap, the salads, chicken slouvaki platter, and their amazing chicken soup. Our go to apps are the hummus and tzatziki dips and the falafel - just ask for extra pita and they will give it to you. Want Greek and in the area then give it a try - you won't be disappointed! Awesome greek food! My father and I were looking for a good lunch, and initially looked at some other restaurants, yet all were closed. We decided to try Cedar Tree as we'd never had it before. We were pleasantly surprised how great the food was!! We ordered a gyro platter and a lamb soulvalki with a side of grilled veggies. It came with soup or salad, so we started with the soup which was lemon orzo chicken soup, and it was delicious! Not too lemony, which I liked and it was nice and hot. They also gave us a complimentary hummus starter with some pita and cucumbers, and the hummus was so fresh and drizzled with some great olive oil. The pita was fluffy and warm and also very fresh. Our main courses were delicious, and so was our side of greek fries. We asked for them extra crispy and boy did they deliver! They were perfectly crunchy and seasoned well. The gyro meet was also fresh and tasty, but the lamb was the star of the show. So tender and cooked perfectly. We will 100% be coming back!!! All must try. read more
